During the war of 1812, the hospital for the wounded French army was first located in an organized Sheremetyev altogether, then the wounded soldiers of the Russian-Turkish war came here. The participants of all subsequent wars also received medical care here. Since 1815, there was a permanent surgical practice here. Why is the name of Professor Sklifosovsky?

In 1929, the institution began to be called in honor of N. V. Sklifosovsky for his work on practical surgery for which war time in urgent order Trained specialists. Sklifosovsky himself during the military campaigns acquired a rich practical experience, as he worked in dressing points, a surgeon-consultant, a military-field surgeon and the leading surgeon of the Russian army. Streamlining and growth

The ambulance station located in the territory of the Sheremetyevsk hospital, which was led by which at the time of G. M. Gerstein, began to be listed by the department of the Institute. He was then headed by A. S. Puchkov, under the guidance of which a well-established system of documentation and reporting was created. From military to peacetime

The number of accepted wounded soldiers during the years of the Great Patriotic War Institute. N. V. Sklifosovsky passed for tens of thousands. Everyone was provided with the necessary help.
