What does it mean to be happy according to Bunin's story. An essay on the topic "What does it mean to be happy?"

“We always only remember happiness. And happiness is everywhere ... ”- said Ivan Bunin once, who was not only a poet, but also a wonderful prose writer. In his collection there are many stories and novellas, the motives of which were borrowed a little later by Kuprin and Chekhov. This is the age-old problem of happiness, which is reflected in the work of these three writers.

The heroes of Bunin's stories do not think that happiness can be found in everything around them. Each story has an unhappy ending, which makes the reader wonder what happiness is and why so much is said about it. False representation about happiness develops in the story "The gentleman from San Francisco". There are no truly happy people on a luxurious steamer in the world of money, jewelry and debauchery. The rich live in constant worries, they do not know sincere feelings. The most happy person turns out to be a poor fisherman, and in what exactly his happiness - in poverty or in something else - Bunin makes us think.

For the heroes of Kuprin's stories, the highest happiness is love, and, moreover, love is non-reciprocal, but pure, worthy of self-sacrifice. " Garnet bracelet"- a love story of a man who finds his happiness in death. Social status prevents Zheltkov from being with his beloved, who, by the way, is married. But this person is happy even because he has the opportunity to see the one that makes him happy. Vera Sheina, most likely, would also be happy with Zheltkov, if not for her beloved, but imperious and jealous husband... Probably, people like this failed couple could make each other happy, if not for the circumstances. For Zheltkov, happiness did not last long. He could not bear his position, forcing him to constantly hide, so he acts faster and easier. He sees salvation in death and quickly goes to this step, asking his beloved not to blame himself for anything.

Anton Pavlovich Chekhov is known not only as a satirist, but also as a person who raises complex life important questions... Of course, for his heroes, happiness was either love or material wealth. In the story "Gooseberry" there is a meeting of two brothers, one of whom considers himself a happy man, and the second tries to talk about his happiness and the position of disadvantaged people. In the end, Ivan Ivanovich, on whose behalf the story is being told, comes to the conclusion that the meaning of life lies not in happiness, and even more so not in eating fruits from all the gooseberry bushes, but in doing good. So maybe this is the ultimate happiness ...?

All three writers presented their interpretation of happiness to the reader's judgment. So is this wealth, love, or just kindness? The choice is up to each of us.

All people are looking for happiness, but not everyone is. And it is not the same for everyone. For some, happiness is wealth, for others, happiness is health. For the heroes of the stories of Kuprin, Bunin and Chekhov, happiness is in love. Only they understand happiness in different ways.

In Kuprin's story "Lilac Bush", young spouses love each other. Happiness really lives in their house. But happiness does not appear by itself, in this case it is the result of the dedication of Faith. Almazov, the head of the family, undoubtedly also loves his wife. But he is quite selfish, and if Vera did not yield to him, love would very quickly develop into mutual hatred. So it turns out that a person is the blacksmith of his own happiness. Vera is happy due to the qualities of her soul; she is able to rejoice not in her own happiness. Therefore, for Vera, happiness means not just loving, but making a loved one happy. This is a sign of a noble and exalted soul.

The main characters of Bunin's story "The Caucasus" see their happiness in love. Loving each other, striving to meet their beloved, they forget about the feelings of others. Their love is forbidden, because the main character is married. The hero-lover, apparently, has nothing to offer his beloved lady. I don't want to think very badly of him, but what can this person give to his chosen one? He brought pain, anxiety, fear, resentment into the life of someone else's family. The impudent wife wants to hide with her lover, not realizing that she will not be able to hide from the pangs of conscience. In addition, she does not leave her husband forever, she still plans to return. What kind of happiness in love can we talk about here? There is nothing here but selfishness and the desire to satisfy momentary whims. Just think of what hell a deceived husband is going through! He ends his life with suicide, without denouncing anyone, without persecuting anyone. It is very painful that this worthy man appreciated his life below the feelings and actions of a stupid woman. All these people were chasing a ghostly happiness, not looking for it in their unthinkable life. The author does not tell us anything, but for some reason it is completely clear to me that after what happened, lovers have no joint future. If they loved so much, they would open up to my husband, they would not lead him by the nose.

AP Chekhov's story "About Love" tells about tender love, about true love. Pavel Konstantinovich is called for a reason noble man... He accidentally fell in love, as if he met his other half. Love, as it turned out, was mutual. Alekhine cannot be called a weak-willed person. He does not give vent to feelings just because they are forbidden. Pavel Konstantinovich respects Anna Alekseevna's husband, takes pity on her children. What will become of them, let him invade their lives ?! Alekhine does not want to destroy other people's lives, someone else's family. It's not that he was well received in the house, no. He's just the kind of person who knows how to feel the pain of another person. Pavel Konstantinovich nevertheless opened up to Anna Alekseevna. They mourned their love, and lived on, carefully keeping it. After all, it is better to suffer for both of them than to make the whole family suffer.

I understand the position of Alekhine and Anna Alekseevna: if they are not destined to experience happiness together, then there is no need to torture other people. Bunin's lovers are disgusting, deceitful and selfish. And Vera Almazova pleases. If everyone were looking for happiness in caring for other people, if only they would wish the closest people happiness! This is real happiness!

INTRODUCTION

What is happiness?
Some say: “These are passions:
Maps, wine, hobbies -
All the thrill. "

Others believe that happiness is
In a big salary and power,
In the eyes of the captive secretaries
And the thrill of subordinates.

Still others believe that happiness is
This is a great deal:
Care, warmth, attention
And the community of experience.

According to the opinion of the fourth, this is -
Sit with my darling until dawn
Once in love, confess
And no more to part.

There is still such an opinion
That happiness is burning:
Search, dream, work
And daring wings of takeoff!

And happiness, in my opinion, is simple
There are different heights:
From the hummock to Kazbek,
Depending on the person.
E. Asadov

What is happiness? Probably everyone in his life, at least once, asked this question! Happiness is a kind of ghost that you so want to catch and possess, but at the same time you understand that it is not eternal. People are chasing happiness, not understanding what exactly is happiness for them. Just a word, just a feeling, just minutes, hours, days, eternity ...

Each of us puts our own meaning into the word "happiness".

We conducted a survey among students and teachers of our school, asking questions:

What is happiness?

Here's what we heard ...

"Happiness is when you go to school with pleasure in the morning and go home with pleasure in the evening."

"Happiness is the timely fulfillment of desires."

"Happiness is doing something that brings a lot of joyful moments ... and not just for you."

“Happiness is, in a sense, freedom, happiness is eternal holiday, from which you will never get tired, happiness is when you, the sea and the sun, or rather, you plus him, the sea and the sun ... "

"Happiness is about getting your way."

“For me, happiness is an opportunity to do beautiful things. I hope people are a little happier after seeing my work. "

"Happiness is an opportunity not to deny yourself anything, and for every woman, happiness is a family, beloved husband, children ..."

"Happiness is to love and be loved."

New film by seven young Russian filmmakers in collaboration with the Disney team"Happiness is…"(2015) raises the philosophical question of what happiness is. A fascinating and intriguing almanac is also built on seven episodes with a good ending. In one of the stories with the title "While the bicycle is waiting" the hero has a chance to meet his love. Another novel, called Bon Voyage, will show how important family ties are. It has two sisters after tragic event will be able to reunite again. The heroes of the "March 8" plot will experience bright and exciting events. Basic storyline here becomes the search for a name for the newborn. The "3G" novel reflects the need to abandon digital devices in order to start living fully. Interesting story entitled "The Last Point" - about one successful businessman. As a result, the realization comes to him what is happiness. “Two Together” will help you see how difficult relationships can be when people of different natures connect. The fantasy novel "Cupid of the First Class" will show that even angels sometimes fail to find happiness in love. Each of the characters has their own understanding of what it means to be happy.

At what moments in life do we feel like a truly happy person?

Happinesscomes when we fill our lives with meaning. When we do what we really enjoy. Even routine actions will bring joy, one has only to remember why we are doing all this. For example, cleaning an apartment for the sake of cleanliness and comfort at home. And coziness improves the mood of both yours and your household. Good mood strengthens the family, bringing peace and harmony to it - that's the path to happiness! Happiness is really in everyone's hands! "

PARTI.

Happiness is…

1.1. Interpretation of happiness at different times

Translated from the ancient Greek, "happiness" is the fate of a person who is protected by the gods. People believed: if a person is guarded by the gods, then he will certainly be happy.

But Aristotle believed that happiness is a soul that lives in virtue. Virtue in those days was considered an integral part of happiness.

Happiness in ancient mythology depicted as a woman carried by the wind. The woman had long braid that fluttered in front of her. Therefore, at the moment when it flies up, it is easy to catch it. But in a moment it will fly by, and there is no more chance of catching happiness.

Explanatory dictionary Russian language DN Ushakova: "Happiness is a state of well-being, joy from the fullness of life."

Dictionary of SI Ozhegov: "Happiness is a state of complete highest satisfaction, luck, success."

At present, psychologists understand happiness as a constant and complete satisfaction of a person with his life, its conditions, fullness, the disclosure of human capabilities achieved in it.

1.2 What is happiness?

There is one (at least one) question that we will never answer “no” to. This question sounds like this: "Do you want to be happy?" We all want to experience happiness ...

The question of how you can achieve happiness is still open and continues to cause a lot of controversy ...

A natural question arises: what then to do? Are we doomed to seek all our lives for this notorious happiness?

I remember a parable ...

One day an old cat met a young kitten. The kitten ran in a circle and tried to catch its tail. The old cat stood and looked, and the young kitten kept spinning, falling, getting up and again chasing its tail.

- Why are you chasing your tail? the old cat asked.

- They told me - the kitten answered - that my tail is my happiness, so I'm trying to catch it.

The old cat smiled, as only old cats can do this and said:

- When I was young, I was also told that in my tail, my happiness. I ran after my tail for many days and tried to grab it.
I did not eat, did not drink, but only ran after the tail. I fell exhausted, got up and again tried to catch my tail. At some point, I despaired and went.
I just went where my eyes were looking. And do you know what I suddenly noticed?

-What? - asked the kitten in surprise?

- I noticed that wherever I go, my tail goes everywhere with me ...

“Do not chase after happiness: it is always in you,” Pythagoras said.

We always only remember about happiness.
And happiness is everywhere. Maybe it

This autumn garden behind the barn

And clean air pouring through the window.

In the bottomless sky light white edge

A cloud rises, shines. For a long time

I follow him ... We see little, we know

And happiness is given only to those who know.

The window is open. Squeaked and sat down

There is a bird on the windowsill. And from books

I look away for a moment, tired.

The day is getting dark, the sky is empty.
The rumble of a thresher is heard in the threshing floor ...
I see, I hear, I'm happy. Everything is in me.
I. Bunin

The biggest paradox is that a person never experiences a feeling of absolute happiness, that is, he is never absolutely happy, there is always something missing.Happiness is a dream. But for some reason it turns out that happiness disappears somewhere as soon as the dream becomes a reality.

1.3. Notable personalities Ohappiness and love

What did great people think about happiness?

In ancient times.

Confucius: "Happiness is when you are understood, great happiness is when you are loved, real happiness is when you love."

Heraclitus: "If happiness was only in bodily pleasures, we would call the bulls happy who found peas for food."

Cicero: "The happiest of all is the one who depends only on himself."

XV century.

Leonardo da Vinci: "Happiness goes to the one who works hard."

XVI century.

Gottfried Leibniz: "To love is to find your own happiness in the happiness of another."

XVIII century.

Edmund Burgh: “Those who have something to hope for and nothing to lose are the most happy people in the world".

Nicolas de Chamfort: "Happiness is like a watch: the simpler the device, the less often it breaks."

Denis Diderot: “The happiest person is the one who gives happiness the largest number of people".

XIX century.

Hans Christian Andersen: "Benefiting the world is the only way to be happy."

Emile Zola: "The only happiness in life is a constant striving forward."

Jules Renard: "If they were building a house of happiness, the largest room would have to be set aside for the waiting room."

William Bennett: “Happiness is like a cat. If you try to persuade or call him, he will avoid you. It will never come. But if you stop paying attention to it and go about your business, it will start rubbing against your feet and jump onto your knees. "

Ivan Turgenev: "Happiness is like health: when you don't notice it, it means that it exists."

Kozma Prutkov: "In the building of human happiness, friendship builds walls, and love forms domes."

Leo Tolstoy: "There are two desires, the fulfillment of which can make a person's true happiness - to be useful and have a calm conscience."

Charlotte Bronte: "There is no greater happiness than feeling that people love you and rejoice in your presence."

Carmen Silva: "Happiness is the only thing that can be given to another without taking anything away from yourself."

XX century

Albert Einstein: "If you want a happy life, you must be attached to a goal, not to people or things."

Ernest Hemingway: "Happiness is good health and poor memory."

André Maurois: "Happiness, like spring, changes its appearance every time."

Erich Maria Remarque: "Happiness is the most uncertain and expensive thing in the world."

Mark Levy: "A tiny grain of hope is enough to sow a whole field of happiness."

Coco Chanel: "Genuine happiness is inexpensive, if you have to pay a high price for it, then it is a fake."

Paulo Coelho: "By sharing happiness with others, we multiply happiness."

What letters did you write to your loved ones?

“My only Josephine - far from you, the whole world seems to me a desert in which I am alone ... You have captured more than my whole soul. You are my only thought; when annoying creatures called people become disgusting to me, when I am ready to curse life - then I lower my hand on my heart: your image rests there, I look at it, love is absolute happiness for me. "

Napoleon Bonaparte to Josephine, April 3, 1796

“My priceless friend, I feel sorry for you, I am sad without you as much as possible. Now I truly feel what it means to love. Before I parted with many, to whom I was also firmly attached, but a day, two, a week - and the melancholy disappeared, now, the further from you, the worse. Suffer a little more, my angel, and let us pray to God so that after that we will never be parted again.

A.S. Griboyedov to his wife Nina. December 24, 1828

“The more I think, the more I am convinced that my existence cannot be separated from yours: I was created to love you and follow you; all my other worries are one delusion and madness.

A.S. Pushkin - N.N. Goncharova, March 1830

They are happy because they love and are loved ...

Joseph Addison, English essayist, poet and statesman, wrote: "There are three grandiose laws of happiness in life - you need to do something, you need to love someone, you need to hope for something."

A person's happiness depends on himself, on his attitude to the world around him, on the ability to build harmonious connections ...

There is no happiness without love,

The people say so.
Think and understand

But it is really so.
What does it mean to wander without love

On the overgrown paths of fate?

Wash your face with a tear in the morning

And ask for long-awaited love.
To say to yourself: "There is no happiness in life!"

And in this you are completely right.
No love - no happiness
Sisters they are twins!

Love, especially if this feeling is mutual, gives a person the opportunity to be happy.

Love is the most inexplicable human feeling.

Love comes to us suddenly, flashes and strikes like lightning. And we are no longer us, but ... love. Nothing can stop love: not time, not distance, not death.

Many volumes of poetry and prose have been devoted to her, but she has not been fully understood.

PARTII.

Happiness in the stories of A.P. Chekhov's "On Love",

I.A. Bunin "Caucasus" and A.I. Kuprin "Lilac Bush"

Love ... turns life out of nonsense

into something meaningful, makes happiness out of unhappiness.
L.N. Tolstoy

The theme of love in literature has always been relevant. After all, love is the purest and most beautiful feeling that has been sung since ancient times. Love has always excited the imagination of mankind equally.

You can list endlessly all the works about love, but

among all this set, stand out works of three Russian classics: Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, Ivan Alekseevich Bunin and Alexander Ivanovich Kuprin.

What does it mean to be happy in understanding the heroes of these artists of the word?

2.1. The story of A.P. Chekhov's "On Love" - a story of love and lost happiness

Anton Pavlovich Chekhov - the greatest prose writer and playwright who lived and worked at the turn of two centuries, absorbed all the best examples of classical Russian literature and supplemented them true understanding human soul... It was these circumstances and the genius of the writer that allowed him to leave a huge legacy, including plays, stories and stories.

Revealing the problem of people's happiness - the most important problem human society, Chekhov raises the question of the need to change society, in which honest people cannot be happy. But he does not indicate the ways of changing society, but only says that it is impossible to live like this any longer.

Chekhov's story "About love", along with "Gooseberry" and "Man in a Case" is part of the so-called little trilogy. The piece ends this cycle. In the story "About Love" sweet love is ruined by the lovers themselves. So why is this happening?

He is an urban person by nature, but he lives in the country, is engaged in agriculture and has no personal time at all.

She is a typical "person in a case", she has a husband, children, a home, but she really lacks love, warmth and tenderness.

What prevents them from being together? According to the author, everyday life, fear of condemnation by society. Only the upcoming separation makes them confess their feelings, but they do it only because of the understanding that they cannot change anything. Laziness drives people's feelings. He cannot bring himself to make the life of his beloved better. “She would have followed me, but where? Where could I take her? It's another matter if I had an interesting one, beautiful life if I, for example, were an artist, and then in fact from one ordinary everyday situation would have to carry her into another, the same or even more everyday. " They saw in each other close and kindred spirits not because they fell in love so much, but because they wanted to change their lives, but at the decisive moment they lock themselves in their "case". Why? Because it's easier to live the same way than to start all over again, with blank slate, to devote life to a new person. It can be concluded that they did not love each other at all, because love is a desire to make a loved one happy, and the heroes could only regret the failed happiness ...

After reading the story "About Love", we thought. What should a person be to be happy? What role can doubts play in a person's life? What role does love play in a person's life? Can love always make a person happy?

Perhaps, after reading this story by Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, many of us will think: are we living the right way and do we really need such a life ...

In Chekhov's view, true love can transform a person, make him better, raise him to new level... However, such love is rarely mutual, and "philistine" happiness is not built on love.

2.2 Tragedylyubvi in the story of I.A. Bunin "Caucasus"

It would seem that by the beginning of the 20th century everything that can be said about love had already been said. However, I. A. Bunin speaks about this feeling in his own way. He writes about love, its tragedies and rare moments of real happiness throughout his creative path... For Bunin, love has something in common with the eternal beauty of nature, therefore, from the point of view of a writer, only a natural, unthinkable feeling is beautiful.

Many stories by I.A. Bunin. In his portrayal, love is a formidable force that can turn a person's whole life and bring him great happiness or great grief. Such a love story is shown to them in the story "Caucasus", which he wrote in Paris in 1937. This story marked the beginning of the series of short stories "Dark Alleys".By thoughtBunin, not a very large share of happiness has been released to humanity, and therefore what is given to one is taken away from the other. In the story "Caucasus" two - she and her beloved - with bated breath are waiting for the opportunity to finally drink the cup of happiness to the dregs. They are going, rather, fleeing to the Caucasus from her husband, who is only to blame for the fact that he is madly in love and jealous of her. She leaves with her lover, firmly knowing that from the moment the train departs, hours of despair begin for her husband, that he will not stand it and rush after her to the Caucasus, where she, presumably, may be. She redeems her happiness at the price of another person's despair. And indeed, he is looking for her in Gelendzhik, Gagra, Sochi, and, failing to find her, entrenched in the thought that she had deceived him, left with another, shoots himself. Here is the ending of the story: “The next day, upon arrival in Sochi, he swam in the sea in the morning, then shaved, put on clean linen, a snow-white jacket, had breakfast at his hotel on the restaurant's terrace, drank a bottle of champagne, drank coffee with chartreuse, smoked a cigar slowly. Returning to his room, he lay down on the sofa and shot himself in the temples with two revolvers. "

What is Bunin's story "Caucasus" about? (About love).

Why did this happen to the heroes? (There is no mutual understanding in love: husband-wife, heroine-lover).

Can we judge the characters in the story? Does the author condemn any of them? (He only depicts the situation that happened to the characters, and the reader must figure it out for himself).

What is the essence of the story "Caucasus"? (Love is not only a great happiness that befell a person, but also a feeling that very often brings suffering and pain).

I.A. Bunin paints us the tragedy of love as a unique artist of the most subtle feelings and human experiences.

Love in Bunin's stories lasts for an instant: day, night, week. Happiness only occasionally smiles at the heroes, and then disappears, leaves like water in sand, turns into loss, pain, tragedy, drama. This is because true love, as the writer believed, is doomed to be only a flash and does not tolerate prolongation.

2.3. Sacrificial love in a storyA.I. Kuprin "Lilac Bush"

The works of the cherished theme for Alexander Ivanovich Kuprin are works on the theme of love. In the writer's work, she was embodied in many human destinies and experiences.

AI Kuprin wrote his short, but such a heartfelt story "The Lilac Bush" in 1894. It was published in October of the same year in the Life and Art magazine. The audience greeted the work with affection, critics wrote only positive reviews.

What is this story about? The theme is unambiguous - love in the spirit of Kuprin: sacrificial, giving all of herself without reserve to her beloved. Vera does not know other worries, how to help her husband in the service, in studies - most likely, in everything in life. She sincerely rejoices at his success and is infinitely happy to see him happy.

-Is Vera Almazova happy? Yes, Vera Almazova is happy. To begin with, everyone understands happiness in their own way. For Vera, happiness lies in serving a loved one, helping him, making him happy. In the image of Vera, a special type of woman is shown, for whom happiness is in the ministry. Her husband accepts and accepts this service, so that Vera fulfills her own needs to the fullest. There is complete mutual understanding between husband and wife, as evidenced by the frankness with which Nikolai talks about the problems, and the attention with which Vera listens to him. Vera listens to him, pondering the problem, wanting to immediately take the side of her husband. She is an active person in all matters, this is also very important for her. Verochka's unselfishness amazes when she collects jewelry in order to give them to a pawnshop. The man, her husband, is much more important to her than things. Her activity (and she knows this) is needed when it is important to bring the matter to the end. She complements her husband, knows about it and is happy when she can help him. At the end of the story, the author, showing the state of the two heroes, convinces us that they are happy.

- What is the happiness of a woman according to Kuprin? (To love and be loved is the truth for all time.)

- Why is the story called "Lilac Bush"? Why does the author choose lilacs? (The story is called so because it is the lilac bush that brings the heroes happiness. At first, the young spouses are oppressed by the failure that befell Almazov. He did not enter the Academy, and all because of a spot on the drawing. They are looking for a way out, and Vera finds him. A lilac bush, planted outside the city, helped Almazov to enter the Academy. It is the lilac bush that brings happiness and peace to the Almazov family. beautiful flower that blooms in spring. Spring is the time of lovers. It can be assumed that lilac is the flower of lovers. In addition, lilac has 4 petals. In mythology, 4 is a symbol of the Universe. And then there is the five-petalled lilac, which brings happiness.)

- What did not leave us indifferent in the relationship of two lovers? (The ability to penetrate into the soul of a loved one, the desire to make another happy.)

Kuprin is sorry to part with his favorite characters. For those around them, they are a "strange couple", but that is why they are dear to the author. Behind the ordinary family life The Almazovs have not lost their feelings. The heroes still love each other, do everything for the happiness of a loved one.

With special feeling Kuprin always wrote and reflected on love, believing that the most exciting mystery of man is hidden in it. He was convinced that "no aphorism can exhaust this subject", that "love is the brightest and most understandable reproduction of my I. Love for a writer is the basis of everything that exists:" Love should be a tragedy, the greatest secret in the world. And no life inconveniences, calculations and compromises should concern her. " Love allows heroes to rise above everyday life, vanity. In a letter Kuprin wrote: "Not in strength, not in dexterity, not in mind, not in talent is individuality expressed, but in love."

CONCLUSION

Each person asks himself the question: "What does it mean to be happy?"

It is clear how many people, so many ideas about happiness.

Can happiness be eternal? No, like life itself.

According to these artists, the words, contemporary people have forgotten how to love, they are selfish and selfish, their soul is callous, and their hearts are cold. But the need to love is inherent in man by nature. That is why almost all the heroes of Chekhov, Bunin, Kuprin are unhappy: they strive for love, but cannot comprehend it.

However, these writers are convinced that love is the brightest and happiest thing in the life of every person. And in their works they show examples of such love.

We analyzed three stories about love, each has its own truth, each character has its own idea of happiness.

A. Chekhov's story "About Love" is a story of love and lost happiness ...

In IA Bunin's story "The Caucasus", love is a formidable force that can turn a person's life over and bring him great happiness or great grief. According to Bunin, not a very large share of happiness has been released to humanity, and therefore what is given to one is taken away from the other.

The theme of the story "Lilac Bush" is love in the spirit of AI Kuprin: sacrificial, giving all of herself without reserve to her beloved.

The roads of love are inscrutable, but there is a certain pattern in them: each person passes the "test of love", but not everyone can withstand it.

We agree with the opinion of our chosen writers that love is different, happy and unhappy. But this feeling is deep, infinitely tender. Love makes a person nobler, cleaner, better, softer and more merciful. She brings out all the best in everyone, makes life more beautiful.

Our definition of happiness will not surprise anyone, because for us happiness is waking up next to our parents every morning and knowing that they are doing well. Let them have many different life problems and very often they pay little attention to us, but we can one hundred percent say that we are their happiness. Happy is the person who brings happiness to others.

Life is a very difficult thing, sometimes through the prism of problems you don't even think about what makes you happy. But what a happiness to feel that the most difficult thing is behind you, that you have broken free from the embrace of despair and anxiety, that you can breathe a sigh of relief and smile to yourself. Each person is the creator of his own happiness. It is very sad that we think about the value of our life only when some kind of tragedy happens, when someone from our relatives is in danger, and we cannot do anything about it. With tears in our eyes, those life moments are mentioned when we felt good, when we were happy. Was it then thought that here they are: these minutes of vital calm and boundless happiness. This understanding comes with time. This is when we begin to value our life. We feel the pleasure that we can enjoy a beautiful sunset, the warmth of parents and friends, what we hear and see the world... This is the essence of life. It is worth cherishing every minute, every look and word.

Enjoy every moment. No need to wait happy days tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, summer or winter, after graduating from school or entering university, live today, because life is one, and we decide what it will be. We are happy every minute of our life! It only needs to be understood. Life does not consist of problems, life consists of our attitude to these problems. Happiness is us! Happiness is in each of us! It's up to us to decide when and how we will feel it!

What is happiness for you?

Everyone wants happiness, but what is it?
Alas, only a few are given to know this.
Happiness - waking up to see the dawn
and to know that there is no sin on your soul;
walk barefoot on the cool grass,
go to work calmly, on foot;
to see the smiles of happy children,
to have, albeit a few, but true friends;
do not hide heavy grievances in the heart
and act as our conscience tells us;
live in peace with yourself, with nature, with people,
and in old age to be surrounded by children;
and be grateful to Destiny for this ...
We wish this happiness to all of you!

QUESTIONS

What is happiness?

When is a person truly happy?

Can you call yourself a happy person?

What is happiness and what does it mean to be happy? An example - my little sister once tried to get an apple off the table, and when she finally got it, she was happy, her eyes shone with joy, and a smile played on her lips. Happiness is moments. And to be happy means to have many such moments.

But now I want to talk not about happiness in general, but about happiness in certain cases. During the literature lessons we got acquainted with three works: "Caucasus" by I. Bunin, "Lilac bush" by I. Kuprin and the story "About love" by A. Chekhov. The happiness that the protagonists of these works experienced is what I want to explain. What did this happiness mean to them?

In Kuprin's story "The Lilac Bush", the main characters are Vera and Nikolai Almazov. Nikolai often had failures in his life, but his wife "... learned to meet his every failure with a clear, almost cheerful face." Vera really really loved her husband, she was his support and support, she was part of Nikolai Evgrafovich himself. And when they together again and again overcame all adversity, Vera was happy. Therefore, according to this work, we can say that for a person happiness is to be with a loved one no matter what and to fight together for a life without adversity.

Or, take the story "About Love" by A.P. Chekhov. In this work, the main characters are Anna Alekseevna, the judge's young wife, and Alekhin, a cabinet man. Their happiness was not exactly happiness. After all, happiness should be sweet, but for Alekhine and Anna Alekseevna it was bitter. They loved each other, but they could not be together, because of this they were unhappy. At least they could at least see each other, it was already quite a lot. Love should bring sweet happiness, only then will love be true love. Therefore, in Chekhov's story we are talking about the fact that love does not always bring happiness, and happiness does not always bring us joy, sometimes happiness from love brings pain and grief.

And finally, Bunin's story "Caucasus". Ivan Alekseevich Bunin in his work also showed the love of two people, but unlike Chekhov's story, these people could be together. They rested in the Caucasus, but this love cannot be called exactly the love about which legends are composed. This is not the kind of love that pervades people to their fingertips, this is not the kind of love that everyone is waiting for. The main characters cannot be together, because the girl is already married, but nevertheless, young people secretly meet and even rest in the Caucasus. In this work, the husband the main character shoots himself because he cannot live with the thought that his wife is cheating on him. In this story, we see that for the sake of love you need to go for deeds, you need to sacrifice something, and sometimes even yourself. In this work, sacrificial love appears before us.

And yet, what does it mean to be happy? Judging by these works, to be happy means to love, to be loved and to be able to be close to a loved one, to overcome all obstacles together with your soul mate. This is what it means to be happy. But from myself I can say that happiness is absolutely everything that surrounds us every day. Even the fact that we exist in this world is already happiness.

What does it mean to be happy?

What does it mean to be happy? Hearing this question, I wondered, what does this mean? To clarify this, I turned to the works that we read at school.

Let's first look at the work "Asya" by Ivan Sergeevich Turgenev. It tells about young man, calling himself N. N. And about his life. In his life he found only one true love... Only when he was with Asya did he feel good, he was happy... But when he pushed her away from him and she left, only then he realized that only with her he was a happy man... And so for all his subsequent life, he did not find the girl he really fell in love with and that next to her he felt happy.

But there are, of course, other stories. For example, Vera Almazova, from the story of Alexander Ivanovich Kuprin "Lilac Bush", was always happy in her life. Although she did not live well, she lived optimistically. Never losing hope. She lived happy because of love, but unlike N. N. She always understood what her happiness was. And instead of losing, she finds everything new that enriches her life. She is really happy and is not going to lose it.

What more can be said? Happiness can be not only in love and not necessarily for a long time. There may be moments when you feel happiness, from something that you never did, and this will remain in your memory for the rest of your life. In the poem "Mtsyri" by Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov, Mtsyri, having escaped from the monastery, felt a sense of freedom, but he experienced real happiness only when he overcame the predatory leopard. In this fight, he threw out all his feelings and emotions out. Even when he was pretty exhausted, he felt that he was happy. He was interested in the world, and seeing it was for him, a humble monk, happiness.

Even a poor old woman who has lost everything can become happy. In the story of Nikolai Semyonovich Leskov “ Old genius»Poor old woman who lost everything because of her kind soul, all the same in the end to become happy. Without losing hope for a bright future, she stood her ground, when she was rejected everywhere, she was sure that someday she would defend her beliefs and rights and be happy. And with her persistent efforts, she was able to return what she had lost and her good and honest name.

Thus, it can be summed up that for each to be happy, it's different. For some, this is a short time spent with a loved one, which will be interrupted due to one of your mistakes, for someone it is a long happy life together, for some it is a matter of minutes, during which your dreams come true, and for some it is to return their own and defend their beliefs.
