For the first time my head began to spin in 1991, when we started recording albums and filming clips - "Only the sun" and "Don't look for me." We already regularly skated to Moscow, and, it seemed, were one step away from success ... But we were quickly shoved into the mud with our muzzle. In 1993, the Rock Islands did not have a single concert at all! And when in 1996 we released the clip "Say Nothing" and came to us real success, I was already on the drum. I remember standing in front of a mirror and meditating: “I am a star, I am a star,” but I didn’t feel any “starry”.

The group included: Vladimir Zakharov - bass, Oleg Gorbunov - guitar, Yuri Khapilov - drums and Arkady Kozhevnikov - keys. After school, the group broke up, three months later, Alexander Kutyanov and Vladimir Zakharov were taken to the local VIA "SIRIN", where they began to master new equipment on which they could record. The guys made their first recording in January 1985, and they did it secretly from other members of VIA "SIRIN". Later, Oleg Gorbunov began to take part in the recordings.

In 1986, the "1st Gorky Rock Festival" was supposed to take place. Thus, the guys began to prepare their program for the festival - they were recording almost the entire 1985 and early 1986. As a result, they applied to participate in the festival as the Rock-Islands group. They invited the drummer Anatoly Ivanovich Gorbunov to the group. Having performed two compositions at the festival, they became Laureates.

Later, keyboardist Alexander Abrosimov joined the group. About 10 songs were recorded, which were distributed by the studios "Russia" and "A&S Records". In 1990, the album "I am your pain" was released, and in Moscow two videos were shot for the songs "Only only the sun .." and "Don't look for me."

In 1994, with the help of the guys from the company "NEGOTSIANT" "Rock Islands" released the disc "Solar Wind". In 1995, the Rock Islands group was invited to cooperate by the well-known record company "SOYUZ", which in the same year released an MC and a CD with the Album "Nashi", which already contained famous country processing Russians Folk songs("Oh, frost-frost", "Raven", "Stitches", "Cherry", etc.). Initially, this album was planned just for fun, several songs were recorded for a friend's wedding so that we could dance to them ourselves. The album was recorded at the Soyuz Ton-studio, with the direct participation of the studio director - Yaznur Garipov.

At the end of October 1997, "Soyuz" allocated money to shoot two clips "Lilac" and "Love Very Much" from the album "On the Other Side", which was released in the spring of 1998.

In 1999, the Group, having said goodbye to "Suz", and having signed a contract with the "ORT-Records" company, transferred four songs to the "Soyuz" studio under the Agreement for placing them on the muses. compilations, but since the transferred CDR turned out to have four more (under finalization) songs, then "Soyuz", without hesitation, releases the "New and the Best" project, which includes songs from already released Albums, four new songs , legally transferred by us under the Agreement, and four more that were not allowed to use.

School group "August" was formed by classmates:

Their first recording was in January 1985. The other members of Sirin were not aware that Zakharov and Kutyanov were recording. Soon, Oleg Gorbunov joined them again for a short time. In the fall of 1986, the group gathers for the first Gorky rock festival. The group at that time consisted of Zakharov and Kutyanov. For the sake of participating in the competition, I had to urgently look for a drummer. It was Anatoly Gorbunov from the VIA "Byt Pobyt Poby". A demo was made, and the prefix "Rock" was added to the name of the group. After the festival (1986-1990)

On October 30, 1986, the collective took part in the first Gorky rock festival in the city of Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod). At the festival, the group played a program of ten songs and became a laureate. She performed at a gala concert. Repeated participation in a similar festival in 1987 did not repeat last year's success.

After the breakup of VIA Sirin, the Rock-Ostrova group began to play instead of him at dances in the Red October club and at weddings. Continued to record and experiment in different styles... As a consequence of the emerging fashion for "hard" music, the metal album "The Bell in My Heart" was recorded. There was no bass guitar - the bass was played by Vladimir Zakharov on keyboards. In 1989-1990, "Rock Islands" managed to record several albums in different styles: "Fragments of blue days" (disco), "Only the sun" (disco), "Plundered Russia" (rock), "Discotron" (dance) , "Imbalance" (dance). Growth in popularity (1991-1994)

Great success (1995-2000)

In 1995 "Soyuz" released a CD version of the album "Solar Wind" and the album "Nashi" recorded in the town of Knyaginino. In 2010, after a six-year hiatus, the band's next studio album, Let Me Love You, was released on the Soyuz-Production label. Anatoly Gorbunov changes drums to keys and percussion. Dmitry Krylov was invited to replace the drummer. In the next year, 2011, the next album, "Ice and Fire", will be released.
