Nightwing's comments on their methods upset Catman, who then considered him physically difficult, but Bane kept the peace. Bane reassured Catman and out of respect for Batman and his various protégés, one being Nightwing, said they would leave. Catman questioned the Poisons' actions and decision and revealed his reasoning for making way. He told Catman that they left because Nightwing is the only person worthy of being named Batman. Bane may not be as villainous as he once was too much then he respected Batman and what he supported.

In a new storyline, Bane was hired along with the rest of the team by a new villain named Mr. Smith, a slave trader. Mr. Smith's goal was to build the largest prison in the world. To do this, he hired the Amazon tribes as slaves. Janet saw and remembered Artemis from a previous encounter. She broke it, the rest of the team reacted with opposition. While the team battled amongst themselves, Wonder Woman arrived. Wonder Woman, after seeing Artemis hurt, drags Six into battle. Wonder Woman was defeated by Janet's amazing display of power and the Six Paths Splits, knowing that they were soon to clash over the matter.

As three of the six fled with Artemis, half remained loyal to their employer and left Wonder Woman to Mr. Smith. Smith insisted that their former teammates had to be dealt with for their betrayal and the probably imminent attempt to free the other Amazons. However, something Wonder Woman said to Catman made him decide to switch sides. He freed the Amazons who started the prison riot. Deedshot and Ragdoll struggled a bit over whether they should kill the others. Surprisingly, the ragdoll decided to return to the control room and smash Smith's head in a jerk. Deedshot decided to give up on the job at this point by shooting Amazon, who was working for Smith in the head to rescue Catman and Janet.

After the riot, Wonder Woman allowed what was left of the Secret Six to leave despite knowing they were criminals. Deadshot was left behind where he performed Smyth much like he had executed a prisoner earlier. When the group departed, Bane indicated that each mission they make ends meet with injury and no pay. He informed them that he would be in charge. His first decision was that Scandal was from the crew, replacing her with Black Alice.

After Catman left to find his son's killer, both Deadshot, ragdoll, and Scandal joined him. Bane and Janet continue to work. Thus, fill ranks Bane recruited four new members. These members are: Giganta, Dwarfstar, Lady Vic, and the King's Shark. The recruitment of new members caused alienation in the old team. There are now two Secret Six teams, one led by Bane and one led by Scandal. Over time, these two teams came into conflict. As a result, their meeting Bane was forced to fight Scandal. The team then meets at an abandoned warehouse in Gotham to discuss their plan of attack. Unbeknownst to them, Penguin had a transmitter hidden beneath his skin, which he had secretly previously reported to the entire superhero community of Six's whereabouts. Realizing that his team was greatly outnumbered and could not win this battle, Bane and his teammates inject themselves with Poison; determined not to go down without a fight. The Heroes eventually take over, and Bane and the rest of the Six are arrested. After being transported to the Blackgate Penitentiary, Bane wakes up to the conclusion that they were the only thing holding him back from killing Batman, were his recent girlfriend and several of his friends. He then breaks his shackles and prepares to flee.

Following Flashpoint and the DC Universe reboot, Bane is introduced by DCnU writer Paul Jenkins and artist David Finch in the Batman: The Dark Knight series. Poison's appearance is similar to his appearance in the game Arkham Asylum, carrying a massive storage tank on his back and still battling his addiction to Poison. In the story, Batman explores a major riot in Arkham, where all prisoners are injected with a Venom derivative mixed with Fear Toxin, which makes them stronger and immune to fear. Batman, while battling an expanded Two-Face, encounters a new villain called the White Rabbit and follows her, eventually leading him to Poison. Bane attacks him and after a general battle, with the help of the Flash, Batman will win. Bane is knocked off a cliff and executed to the sea. Most of the elements in the DC Universe were changed during the reboot, but it was hinted in dialogue from the comics that Bane still broke Batman.

Bane's powers and abilities

Poison has one of the most cunning and disciplined minds in the DC universe. Studying several scientific fields, languages, strategy, history, etc., Bane has all the benefits of a classical education. Bane is fluent in Spanish, English, Urdu, Persian and Latin. Unlike other intellectual characters such as the Riddler and Lex Luthor, Bane focuses heavily on his goals without any obsessive tendencies overshadowing his judgment. With his coordinated mindset, Bane was also capable of inferring Batman's identity with little support or investigation.

Bane has, his photographic memory, capable of easily learning and fully reading and understanding another person's actions and physical movements.

One half of Bane's greatest self-teaching successes have been his strong dedication in keeping himself in perfect physical condition. During his prison stint, Bane learned and designed new gymnastics, meditation, and wrestling techniques that he uses against other famous martial arts fighters in the DC Universe, often to great success. Notable victories include Batman (Bruce Wayne), Nightwing (Dick Grayson) and the Judo Master he killed after fighting.

Over the years, Bane has built his mind and body to the point his body cannot bear much tiredness from sleep loss or physical aids. It has been said that Bane used a certain drug during his prison stint that connected both hemispheres in his mind, it is unclear if the drug's effect is still active in the Poison's body or not, but it would seem that a possible combination of Poison use still has. these are the effects on Poison. It is through his many years of sustained physical fitness, even without the use of Poison, that Bane is capable of having strength, stamina, flexibility, coordination and fighting skills that are few in comparison to the metahuman. It is unclear whether Bane possesses a metagenic or not, but so far, he is still labeled as human at his highest peak for physical and mental perfection in every way.

Besides his physical and mental capabilities, Bane also has knowledge in the fields of handling heavy weapons and explosives. For the most part, Bane would not have preferred to use such a weapon when confronting someone; he would use such items when trying to destroy construction or any other man-made construction.

Even though Bane has not yet been tested for having methuman powers of any kind, there has been an incident in Bane's story as a teenager where he witnessed a future version of himself. It is a strong coincidence that he eventually became the same person, yet Bane was unconscious when faced with this vision.

Bane is known for using his signature Venom drug. Poison is a powerfully addictive strength-enhancing super-steroid. This is based on the Miraclo formula. The drug increases the user's physical symptoms to superhuman levels. With the drug, Bane increases his already impressive strength. The amount of power Poison has depends on how much Poison he takes. This gives him faster healing, incredible resilience, and peak human speed. Its duration increases to the point where bullets from most conventional firearms do only superficial damage. The Poison drug increases his strength to a two-ton range depending on how large the dosage he uses. Exactly how strong he can become has never been fully established. The poison has a serious failure effect if the injections are not continuous. Signs - strong pain, dehydration, insanity, coma, and eventual death. Bane pointed out that Poison's refusal makes drugs like heroin, crack, etc. look like a joke.

If Bane happens to overdose on Poison, he will temporarily enter a savage state in which his physical abilities increase tremendously, but he himself becomes a little more than a mindless berserker. In the new rebooted DC Universe, Poison allows Poison to jump numerous stories, makes him faster than Batman, who is able to survive falls from cliffs, tosses around boulders, and this makes him smarter. Bane has created a special serum that can neutralize the effects on others. This serum causes intense bleeding from the mouth, nose, ears and eyes as it starts to soften. With DC: Rebirth, Bane claims to have completely stopped the use of Poison, depriving herself of all abilities that come with it. However, this was the result of the Bane harboring Psychopirate on Peña Duro. It was revealed that the Psycho Pirate was using his powers to make Bane think he was no longer dependent on the drug. Once the Psycho Pirate is taken from the island, Bane immediately began to crave Poison again.

Owing to his unconventional childhood, Bane has a unique personality, sometimes at odds with his intimidating appearance, at others perfectly in line with his barbaric reputation. Bane quite easily considers himself superior to almost everyone he meets. Perhaps due to this innate self-esteem, Bane developed a strong sense of compassion and often helps the weak and defenseless. Batman & robin

A version of Poison is featured in the 1997 Batman & Robin film, played by the late Robert "Jeep" Swenson, who died of heart failure just months after the film's theatrical release. Bane, scripted by Akiva Goldsman, is barely able to speak and communicates through grunts and growls. Still a prisoner, he is a serial killer this time, Venom's only surviving item. Bane now owes his creation to Jason Woodre and lacks any of the strategic genius or explosive physical condition of the original version. He is superhumanly strong, muscular, and wears a similar mask including Venom pipes. Bane is little more than a footman to Sumach Uma Thurman in the film and is defeated by both Batgirl and Robin, who sever the pipes connected to his mask. This depiction of Bane is one of the many aspects of Joel Schumacher's film that has caused him to receive harsh criticism from fans and critics alike.

Batman: The Mystery of Batwomen

He appeared in the animated DC Universe film Batman: The Mystery of Batwomen. In the film, he is hired by Robert Thorne, Penguin, and Carlton Ducsn to deal with Batumen. Towards the end of the film, he falls into a pit of fire.

Death of the Justice League

Bane is the first member of the Legion of Doom to be introduced, trekking through the Swamp of Carnage to the Hall of Doom before being attacked by a giant alligator. He is pulled under water, but he is able to free himself and break the neck of the beast. He meets Meta-Llo, Star Sapphire, Ma'alefa'ak, and Cheetah on their way to the Hall of Doom before being asked to enter. Bane is chosen by Vandal Savage to kill Batman. He does so by stealing his parent's graves and informing Bruce Wayne of their disappearance, disguising himself as a laborer in a cemetery. He then knocks Bruce out before placing him in one of his parent's coffins and burying him alive. Bruce manages to dig himself out and is the first League member to escape his death trap (Batman later remarks that Bane's mistake buried him alive) and manages to rescue his fellow League members. Bane stays with Vandal Savage after he divulges his true plans and faces off against Batman when the Justice League storms the Hall of Doom. Despite suppressing Batman early on, he manages to defeat Bane by cutting his Venom pipe.

TV

Batman: The Animated Series and Superman: The Animated Series

He appears as an assassin in Batman TAS. Manufacturers where refusing to use it because he felt too useless. It was voiced by Henry Silva first with a South American accent. While doing his first appearance in the episode "Bane," he was hired by local crimeboss Rupert Thorne to eliminate Batman. In the episode "Along the Edge," Bane is hired by Commissioner Gorden to help him track down and hunt Batman after Batgirl's death. In the future, Gotham's youth becomes a victim of a new drug called "Slappers", a derivative of the power-increasing "Poison" of Poison. Terry McGinnis investigates the drug trafficking of this new drug, going back to the source. Bruce leads Terry to a distant invalid home outside of Gotham. He is first seen boarding a rickshaw when he is deposited from the missing account in Catwoman, using it as a landing to rescue her. Bane is seen again trying in vain to put a very large woman on his rickshaw before using his Venom transforming him into a large giant. He chases Catwoman, landing on her attacker and taking the scroll of fate. However, he is occupied by Batman, who with the tag of Catwoman teams him up and defeats him. This version of Poison is shown to be a simplified version as unlike its comic counterpart, it has a subtle build in front of Venom in animation, and has few lines.

In the Batman series, Lego Bane is viewed as not only an opposing villain, but a playable character as well. Serving only as a junior boss, Bane would be used in the game to overcome obstacles that include a hard climb.

He also makes an appearance in Batman: Arkham Asylum alongside the Joker and many other classic villains, Bane is the boss in the game, and his appearance, without the effects of Poison, is a lot like his version of the Batman and Robin movie. If not pumped full of Poison, he is a rather thin, weak and painful look. In play, he is a force fed an enhanced version of Venom developed by Joker and Dr. Penelope Young. They intended to use the expanded Poison to create an entire army of Poisons to take over Gotham City.

Bane later reappears in the sequel Batman: Archem City, trapped in the city along with most of the other villains. He temporarily forms an alliance with Batman to destroy the Titan containers located across the city, but attempts to betray him afterward and use the Titans for his own purposes. However, Batman, predicting this, traps Bane in the storage device and destroys the last remnants of the Titan formula.

Bane appears in Batman: Origins of Arkham, the latest addition to the Arkham series that serves as a prequel to Arkham Asylum. He is one of the eight assassins trying to hunt down Batman and collect Black Mask's $ 50 million bounty. He is the killer of the ending (In the main main storyline). When Batman is in Blackgate prison, Joker hooks himself up to the electric chair, which is powered by Bane's heartbeat, knowing that Batman will have to kill either him, Joker, or Bane.
