On May 12, at a press conference in Lviv, the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Lilia Grinevich explained this. “This year, the so-called regional, sectoral and rural coefficients have been introduced. It means that competitive score will be multiplied by a factor. With these coefficients, we want to balance the number of applicants in all regions of Ukraine. It cannot be that everyone goes to only one city of Kiev. One of the incentives for the selection of other cities is the regional coefficient. If children go to Kiev, then their coefficient is 1. If to Dnipro, Lvov, Odessa, Kharkiv - 1.1, if universities moved to Donetsk or Lugansk regions, then their coefficient is 1.3. For all other regions - 1.2.
