The largest animal that we can only see in the zoo or in the photo. These inhabitants of the savannah have already been tamed by man, and therefore well studied. It becomes funny for kids to watch elephants who cling to their mother's trunk with their proboscis, as if holding on to a handle.

The elephant's trunk is a universal tool. With its help, the animal can knock down a powerful tiger, or pick up the smallest pebble from the ground. At the same time, elephants do not know how to jump at all, but they develop a speed when running up to 30 km.

Funny and funny: with big ears, trunk, with a ball

The elephant is a real giant, it weighs 4-10 tons, as big truck... The colossus feeds exclusively on plant foods. The mammal lives not only in Africa, but also in Asia. African and Asian elephants differ in size, ear size and shape.

The little elephant is cute. But you cannot call it a crumb - only when it is born, "manyunya" already weighs about 200 kg.

V wildlife elephants live in herds of 10-12 individuals. In elephant herds matriarchy, they are led by the oldest female. Herds are constantly wandering in search of food and water.

There is a misconception that the elephant drinks water with its trunk. This is not true. The trunk is the nose, which the animal also uses as a kind of "hand". At the watering hole, the giant scoops up water for them to send into their mouths.

A huge elephant is a friend of man. In African countries and India, it is used as transport, at construction sites, in military affairs.

We can contemplate funny, awkward, but very cute elephants in the zoo, in circuses and, of course, on cool pictures for kids.

How to draw an elephant with a pencil?

It is difficult to portray representatives of exotic fauna if you did not have to personally communicate with them. We offer a video showing how to draw an elephant for children without spending a lot of effort and resources.

The elephant is one of the largest animals on the planet. It is herbivorous, and eats a variety of leaves, grass, twigs, roots and fruits. In Asian countries and Africa, people were able to tame an elephant, and sometimes they use it as a transport and even play football on elephants. Elephants are good-natured and emotional enough, but they can destroy everything in their path in a rage. In spite of big sizes, the elephant is afraid of mice. Today we learn how to draw an elephant with a simple pencil... This step-by-step lesson perfect for novice artists as well as children.

Tools and materials:

  1. Paper.
  2. Solid plain pencil.
  3. A soft, simple pencil.
  4. Eraser.

Stages of work:

Step1. We draw a large oval, the edges of which are slightly pointed. This shape will serve as the basis for the elephant's head and ears:

Step2. On top of the oval, we determine the width of the head and draw the trunk of the animal. At the end, the trunk twists slightly inward:

Step3. From the top of the head to the ears, add lines that connect them. Below we will draw a place from which the tusks will grow:

Step4. There will be a lot of bends on the elephant's head, let's draw them with lines. The place where the eyes are located will slightly go beyond the base of the head. We do not make the tusks large, but they will be slightly pointed. At the end of the trunk, add a small plane on which the nostrils will be located. The lower part of the ears has small folds, we outline them along the edge:

Step5. You can remove the extra lines with the eraser, which previously helped us with construction. Round eyes are far apart, and their size is very small, relative to the entire head:

Step6. Now let's draw the entire body of the mammal. The elephant was captured while walking on the grass, so we draw it in a standing position. Three of his legs are clearly visible, and the fourth is blocked due to its distant location. Only the lower part of the leg is peeking out. The body has rounded shape, and the tail hangs down from behind:

Step7. Let's move on to applying shadows. Let's draw the darkest places on the elephant's body. For this, you can use a soft, simple pencil. It is worth noting that the light falls from the top right, similarly, the shadow will be on the left side of the body:

Step8. We continue to apply the shadow, but here we apply hard pencil, for a smoother transition. The entire trunk of an elephant, starting from the head, is covered with folds due to its hard skin. Place the folds horizontally:

Step9. Now we need to work out the body of the elephant in more detail. We detail the folds not only on the head and trunk, but also on the legs. Again soft pencil let's increase the contrast of the picture:

  • The height of elephants is easily calculated from their tracks. Are you curious? So, the circumference of the front footprint of the elephant multiplied by two - thus we get the real height of the elephant to its shoulder.
  • The stories that an elephant is endowed with 4 knees is not at all true - in fact, an elephant has 2 knees and 2 elbows like a human.
  • Most big elephant in the world weighs as much as 12 tons, and this, as scientists say, is not the limit!
  • Elephants are very fond of water, they swim beautifully, without fear of depth.
  • Elephants usually move at a speed of 2-6 km / h, and only a short time can develop walking speed up to 35-40 km / h.

When children or teenagers choose to draw an animal, then fluke is one of the most common choices to find and draw an elephant... I know that this is one difficult animal to draw, because I also had hard times When I was a novice artist and tried to somehow show animals in my drawings, I especially wanted these huge, but beautiful animals.

It seems to me that the reason why elephants are difficult for a beginner to draw is due to the fact that they have a lot of different shaped body parts of different textures and shapes. Their head seems to be smaller than their ears, their legs are larger than their tail, and their bodies are large, round, but at the same time short. How do you compare all this?

The elephant's skin also looks kind of tough and it takes a lot of effort to outline it especially if you are trying to draw an elephant in a realistic manner. That is why I wanted to prepare a lesson for you that will help you learn how to draw, even if the most beginner of all novice artists.

Let's see now how to draw an elephant for kids step by step... Here we will not have a single way to make a mistake or get even the slightest problem when drawing. The author has already tried, trust me and start! So, as always, you will have fun tinkering with this animal in order to draw more to him in the company, or! Because it reminded me of when I was ten years old, I tried to draw a scene at the zoo. I will not say that it looked too good and you can brag left and right, but for you this opportunity will appear now. So good luck to you friends!

Step 1.

Well, as you saw in the pictogram of the lesson, our elephant will only bring you joy to draw. First, let's draw two round shapes, one for the head and one for the body. The body circle should be slightly larger than the first shape. Then draw a line in the middle of the first circle. Don't make it too noticeable, because we will erase it as soon as it becomes unnecessary.

Step 2.

Now you will start drawing the elephant's head. Start at the front and add the hose that falls out of the elephant to be its nose. The trunk of the nose should be slightly curled at the tip, as you can see here in our picture.

Step 3.

Starting at the top of the head, sketch out the shapes of the elephant's ears, and then draw oblong shapes for the eyes. In addition, it is necessary to paint over the eyes, leaving light spots for reflections of light and pupils.

Step 4.

Now you can start drawing the entire body, starting from the back. Then we will draw the front legs, chest and small tummy for the elephant. See how easy it is?

Step 5.

Time to finish drawing the elephant, friends! The hour has struck, and all you have to do here is draw its back elephant, draw its hind legs, and then draw short tail with a bell in the form of hair. Erase the lines and shapes you drew in the first step to clean up your drawing and complete it.

Step 6.

That's all, we have an amazing new elephant, and quite easily and quickly. Color it in. And to draw an elephant with its mother, all you have to do is repeat the steps, but draw an elephant much smaller. Thank you for joining me, friends, and I hope you enjoy the other drawings on the site as well!
