Show symphonic rock hits. Rock and symphonic music! Innovative idea "CONCORD ORCHESTRA"

"Concord Orchestra" is a young symphony orchestra that is not afraid to experiment and actively moves towards his success. It was formed in 2015 in St. Petersburg under the leadership of the young talented conductor from Italy Fabio Pyrol. And now we can talk about the fact that the team has its own unique style that it highlights it, and may allow you to take a separate niche on the musical Olympus between show business and symphonic music.

The program "Symphony rock hits", with which the history of the orchestra begins.

Exactly Year The creators of the orchestra spent on the selection of a repertoire made up of the legendary compositions of Metallica Rock bands, Linkin Park, Rammstein, Scorpions, Survivor, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Aerosmith, Depeche Mode, Europe, Steve Vai, Queen, Status Quo, BON JOVI, MUSE, MAROON 5, AC / DC and made hits arranged for a classic symphony orchestra. The choice of performers for "Concord Orchestra" was not easy. After all, in addition to excellent professional skills, the quality is needed unusual for classical performers, namely the ability to dance on stage, play without score, and that, perhaps, the most important thing is the readiness for experiments, a crazy tour schedule and the desire to create something new. It was a difficult task, and the young conductor Fabio Pyrol coped with her perfectly.

After the final preparation of the Symphony Rock Hits program, Concord Orchestra went to the Grand Tour in Russia. Forty-three Russian cities in their tour schedule. Every day "Concord Orchestra" gives a concert in a new city. Given the distance, you can imagine, what is the physical and emotional load for musicians. Russian spectators appreciated the innovative approach of Fabio Pyrol to the creation of the Symphony Rock Hits program, because each concert is accompanied by stormy ovations and enthusiastic words of gratitude in social networks.

Speech "Concord Orchestra" is difficult to call the concert. Rather, this is an unusual delightful show, where the orchestra game is accompanied by dynamic light effects, and the musicians and conductor themselves are in continuous motion. The powerful sound of tools in the hands of professional musicians: tender violins, hard sounds of alto, the power of double bass, jazz timbre of saxophones, rock and roll drive guitars and drums. At that moment, when you see the conductor's speech by Fabio Pyrol in the Symphony Rock Hits program, there is a feeling that you witnessed something completely incredible. The way he leads is not only an extraordinary energy, charisma and musicality, but also the embodiment of a completely new conductor concept. All this makes an enzych impression on the audience. Some compositions are accompanied by elements of theatrical performances, and this makes them especially memorable. For me, these were Caverits "Behind Blue Eyes" Limp Bizkit and "Enjoy The Silence" Depeche Mode performed by CONCORD ORCHESTRA.

"Symphony rock hits" is not the only Orchestra program. "Tango Passion Astor Piazzollah" comes out in February and is dedicated to everyone in love, and the "White Snow Plan of Johann Strauss" is timed to Christmas holidays.

We appealed to the CONCORD ORCHESTRA conductor Fabio Pyrol and he kindly agreed to answer our questions
:

Let's start with you, Maestro, how are you, Milan, were in Russia?

The first time I got to Russia a tourist with my family, making a classic weekly tour: St. Petersburg, Moscow and the city of the Golden Ring of Russia.

Later, I arrived in St. Petersburg for my first conductor master class with Maestro Yorma Panul. I really liked the city and in some sense I realized that I would come back here.

Have you always dreamed of becoming a conductor orchestra? How and when did you understand what is your way?

I did not dream to become a conductor of the orchestra. It was a conscious, consistent choice. Only after receiving a diploma of the violinist and several years of work as a professional musician, I realized that I can do more, and that the orchestra management is really my way.

How was the idea of creating "Concord. Orchestra."Why did you choose this name?

Concord is formed from the word "Concordia", meaning consent and harmony. Thus, the word Concord in the title emphasizes that the symphony orchestra can perform any repertoire, including rock. Think that

the idea of consent is very important in our stormy and restless historical period.

What year was formed " Concord. Orchestra.»?

Now the second season of the orchestra ends. The first concerts took place in the spring of 2016, then the first season (2016/2017) and then dizzying and successful escorto music and employment.

Your orchestra consists of a fairly large number of musicians who, in addition to excellent ownership of their instrument, should also have a certain acquaintance with dancing, be able to move on stage: features that are not peculiar to musicians of a classic symphony orchestra. What are the selection criteria for your team members?

Currently in Russia, as well as around the world, there are no such musicians. Therefore, during the casting, I choose talented musicians who love similar performances and have a natural predisposition.

Subsequently, I work not only as a conductor of the orchestra, but also as a psychologist, coach, choreographer, revealing in musicians more and more kinesthetic and empathic perception, which is fundamental for a show of this type.

Your tour of Russia is really very saturated: every day a new playground, and I read that the journey passes in the bus. What cities or places did you have the strongest impression on you? And how is the audience?

First of all, this is the city of Rossosh, where I visited the Museum of the Great Patriotic War. I was touched by seeing alpini army artifacts, reminiscent of 100,000 dead Italians in Russia.

I will never forget the monument in the center of the city dedicated to the Alpini Soldiers, with a commemorative inscription: "From the tragic past, to the friendship of the present and fraternal cooperation of the Went"! It is located opposite the kindergarten, built and donated by the Italians to Russian children.

The public in provincial cities is very emotional and warm, and in big cities is very strict and demanding. Very different.

How do you manage to concentrate during the tour tour?

In 2000, in Italy, I took part in my first training "Training of the Musician", held by Professor Marco Brazzzo. Since then, I always try to practice, along with musical training, psychological training is also. This is especially important when the pace of life becomes so mad and tense.

Please describe your usual day.

Lifting at 7 in the morning, in 8-length breakfast, 5-6 hours moving bus, lunch, sound tuning, rehearsal, performance, dinner, moving to the hotel.

How difficult to coordinate the work of such a big team? There are intense moments, given the daily stress, or does the general consent prevail?

Of course, many intense, nerve moments, however, it only means that the group consists of living people.

You just need to send this energy into a constructive channel using fundamental psychological training.

I believe that each theater has its own acoustics, equipment, its scene space: were unexpected situations that could prevent the success of the show?

Of course, we need to be able to adapt and optimize space. In addition, the development of the kinesthetic and empathic sensation is fundamental. Only in this case can be without a panic cope with any situation.

From a technical point of view there are also different situations, but we have experienced technical specialists.

What was the most struck you in Russia?

Beautiful girls! And when you give flowers at concerts!

In addition, I love nature. See the huge Russian expanses, for me it is something special.

In which Russian city would you like to live, and which one would you recommend to visit as a tourist?

I would like to live and live for a long time in St. Petersburg. Tourists, I would advise you to go to the Russian outback, and, of course, a journey through the Trans-Siberian Highway.

In which Russian city did you ever be? (What seems impossible, given the tempo of your tour)?

Unfortunately, I know little Siberia, but we have a tour of the tour with the orchestra for the spring of 2019. I can't wait for this time!

How are you with the Russian language?

I understand almost everything, but I would like to speak better, use the case and proper verb. This will require some more time.

Your hobby?

I love the sea and sailing.

What are the most significant differences between Italy and Russia in your area?

In the field of music in Russia there is still enthusiasm, which was in Italy in the 70s-8-8th years. Everywhere there is a feeling that everything changes quickly.

I really hope that here, in Russia, they know how to wisely confront deep amendments that are waiting for us in the coming years.

What do you think it would be difficult to offer the same program of speeches to the Italian audience?

Yes, quite right! It is said that the taste of the Italian public is the most difficult and capricious in the world. All producers and agents that I communicate, and even Italians, in recent years have significant difficulties with work in Italy.

From your resume I see that you worked all over the world. Along with Russia, it is Germany, the USA, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria and even Oman. What is the most useful of this experience?

At the level of education, I consider this Russia, especially St. Petersburg, undoubtedly the most significant city. It is definitely worthwhile there for several years!

What would you advise a young man who wants to choose a conductor career?

This is an elite profession intended for a little and, moreover, in the coming years it will be in deep changes.

It is necessary to have a huge desire and greater willpower.

What are your plans for the future?

New speeches, tour in Europe, China. Cross your fingers and hope that everything will go well.

Scorpions liked the combination of their music with classic instruments, so such concerts were not carried out once. For example, in Moscow they made a presidential orchestra on Red Square.

November 10 was published "" - an album for the most part of the previously released songs of the Evanescence group, rearranged and recorded with the participation of the orchestra. And it is that day that day is performed exactly half a century since the release of "Days of Future Passed" - the very first in the history of the rock album, which received the form of symphony. Such work over the past half a century became an almost familiar thing, and yet many of them are able to delight and surprise even discerning Melomanians. The site remembers some of the most famous and successful examples of a combination of high classics with rock music.

The Moody Blues - "Days of Future Passed"

(1967)

According to the legend, the story of the first of the orchestral rock albums, which came out exactly 50 years ago, began in September 1967, when an actively touring group of white rhythm-end-blues was supposedly asked to record their version of "Symphony number 9" Antonina Noborik, in order to demonstrate The possibilities of recording technology of the new DEMAM RECORDS label. The group agreed, but instead of recording the classics decided to focus on his own album, the basis of which was the then concert show.

The sound-engineer of Derek Varnales, who worked on the album, however, claims that these are just rumors: by the time the label has already released at least six records with the orchestra, in the case of Moody Blues "Decca Records" just tried to raise interest in his new unit, Singing the sound of the pop group and orchestra after the stunning success "SGT. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Theer is that this album has laid the foundation of the future artistic sound of the group, and it was on him for the first time their main hit. "Nights in White Satin" was written by Justin Hevord for a couple of years before recording: satin sheets obtained by him became a reason for her. A few more songs, including the second hit plate "Tuesday afternoon", were also written long before the recording, and the group only remained to connect all this into a single whole, having received not only one of the brightest orchestral albums, but also one of the first truly conceptual Cleansing

TheirNice - "Five Bridgees"

(1970)

On October 10, 1969, at the Festival of Arts in Newcastle, the premiere of the symphonic work of China Emerson "Five Bridgees", which sounded performed by the orchestra under the control of Joseph Eger. The name "Five Bridges" The five-party suite received by the number of bridges in the city, where the premiere took place, and the influence of it was influenced not only by classical music, but also a completely specific performer - the Austrian Pianist Friedrich Gulda, which was in a strictly classical shape of jazz elements. Two more works recorded with the Eger Orchestra - Suite Karelia Jan Sibelius and part of the "Patatheal Symphony" Tchaikovsky, where the orchestra plays in a classic style against the background of the fatal rhythm section and branded organ passages Emerson. And another number on this record is a mixture of the song "Country Pie" Bob Dilan with the sixth Brandenburg Bach concert. All this, alas, gave a not quite the result for which the Group was counted: Critics were appreciated by Suita as mediocre, but the fans consider her top of the creativity of direct predecessors Emerson, Lake and Palmer. In addition, who knows, do not be this and other attempts by Emerson "marry" classical and modern music, maybe there would be no much more famous "pictures from the exhibition"?

DEEP PURPLE - "CONCERTO FOR GROUP AND ORCHESTRA"

(1970)

"This idea painted me when I played the Artwoods," recalls the author of the most ambitious at that time of the project of John Lord. - At that time I was impressed by the record with the name "Bernstein Plays Brubeck Plays Bernstein". It was music specially written for the orchestra and jazz quartet. She sounded very interesting, and I asked myself - isn't it original rock band playing with a symphony orchestra? ". To present Suit to the public, the manager Tony Edwards secured advertising in the press and for several months agreed on a concert in the Royal Albert Hall, and the Lord learned about this last.

"One thing is plans, completely different is a performance in such an authoritative hall: Fiasco would mean not only the collapse of my individual career, but also a rock band, which would come with me. And I planned, understandable, play with Deep Purple. And there was no other exit, except to take up work. I worked in July-August, most often after concerts, from late morning to morning. And from sleep I was saved by a big glass of strong coffee, "the Lord recalled.

Without less shock, this project was also for orchestrants: when everyone gathered to a joint rehearsal to the concert, one of the cellist stated that he ended up the conservatory not in order to play in such a worthy hall with some followers of The Beatles. However, after the rehearsal, the girl apologized, saying that she liked this experiment. Another problem arose with Iean Gillan, who was supposed to write words to the Lordsov.

"For some reason, I did not prepare the texts time," Ian recalls, "on samples with my participation, I purred something under my breath there, and even no one noticed that I sang some kind of nonsense. And only two hours before the speech, when we sat in a cafe, John asked: "Ian, admit, you have the text?". As a result, a careless rocker wrote words on a napkin right in the cafe, and at the concert sang, looking at the sheet of paper attached to the floor.

The concert itself, which took place on September 24, 1969, did not cost without lining: the band played louder than the orchestra, and Blackmore strongly strongly stretched the semi-and-half solo to the unimaginable length. Nevertheless, at the end of the speech, the audience arranged ovation, and the orchestrants, on rehearsals, clearly neglected the "gang of long-haired hippies", with obvious enthusiasm played the whole third act. The press reviews were also dissected: if Chris Welsh from Melody Maker called the concert "Bold and Revolutionary Piece", then the British Classical Music Observer Noel Goodwin recommended the Union of Classical and Popular Music "Divorce on Mutual Agreement". And the famous Di John diiled called the concert "terrible", so refused to invite a group on his evening show. Whatever it was, the concert became the stage and for the group and for all popular music as a whole.

Procol Harum - "Live: In Concert With The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra"

(1972)

Hit Single Procol Harum "A Whiter Shade of Pale", based on one of the works of Bach, became the same symbol of 1967, as well as the above "SGT. Pepper ", so it is not surprising that the idea of writing with the orchestra sooner or later was to come to mind. And I must say that it happened
this concert album became the first in the history of rock music disk, on which the group performed together with the orchestra is not other products or specially written for this composition, but their own, already known to the listeners of rock numbers . In this sense, Procol Harum, who did not know, created a real prototype of a variety of similar rock orchestral opuses, which followed (and with frightening periodicity continue to follow) from groups that resolved to kill comfort on their own laurels.

Initially, the proposal to sign up with the Edmonton orchestra was received in August 1971, but the care of the Guitarist Robin Traweer and the need to work on full orcheckers forced the leader of the Gary Bruquior group to postpone the project. And when the time came, a lot had to do at the last moment: an agreement on the recording of the performance by the label A & M Records was achieved in just a week before the concert, and the orchestration for the song "Conquistador" had to compose on the aircraft along the way from England, so that the orchestra did not even have Time for rehearsal. Nevertheless, the hit singles became precisely this thing, performed hardly from the leaf and pushed the single to the 16th place of American charts, and the album itself is in the top five in the same America.

Jethro Tull - "A Classic Case: The London Symphony Orchestra Plays The Music of Jethro Tull"

(1985)

The eighties were not the most successful time in the career of Jethro Tull, if only because it was then one of the most famous and popular groups of Art Rock finally turned into the accompanying composition of its leader Ian Anderson. Nevertheless, the group in the reserve there was still something that it was possible to surprise the fans, testimony of this album, recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra: from other projects of the "Orchestra playing the classics of rock", it differs in the fact that he was attended by Anderson himself, a permanent guitarist Martin Barr, as well as members of the new group of group - Bass-guitarist Dave Pegg and Keyman Peter-John Wittez. The rock-hymns "Aqualung" or "Locomotive Breath", already saying about the more "classic" pieces like "bouway" sound so harmoniously, as if they always existed in this processing: the arrangements for the project made another participant of the classic composition, the keyboard player David Palmer. In the US, the album took the 93rd line in the charts - a weak result for the group, but quite good - for the fact that in essence was a collection of orchestral remakes.

Metallica - "S & M"

(1999)

Talking that the patriarchs of trash music want to write an album with the orchestra, at the beginning of 1999 as a peculiar challenge of the routine of records and tour: Michael Cameman, who worked on the unforgettable "Nothing Else Matters" was invited as an arranger and conductor to the project. "We know that they know how to play, and they know that we can play. We just need to correctly calculate the volume of the sound of each other, "said Jason New Susted in an interview with Bass Guitarist.

Concerts with the San Francisco orchestra, which were based on the released double album and DVD, took place on April 21 and 22 of the same 1999: despite the fact that some arrangements, according to criticism, were made as if on, the album was sold very well, and the composition "The Call of Ktulu" won the Grammy in the nomination "Best Tool Rock Execution".

"You know, about this thing with an orchestra ... so cool happened in part because it was not too much. It makes no sense to make a hundred such concerts, "said Lars Ulrich in an interview with MTV. - I have never been so assembled on stage: I really wanted to withstand our part of the execution with the brilliance, do not spoil it and not to sum up. Probably, to relax in the group of four people is one thing. But to bring one hundred eight people - this is the other ... that's what I remember about those two concerts: the absolute concentration on your game, no extraneous thoughts on illumination or a pretty girl in the third row. This is a judicial truth. "

Scorpions -"Moment.Of.Glory "

(2000)

Following Metallica to orchestral albums, other hard rockers reached out, for whom the work of this kind has become something like an attempt to prove that a heavy rock can sound respectfully. They did not avoid this fate and scorpions, speaking on November 11, 1999 in front of the Brandenburg Gate at the celebration by the Decade of the Union of Germany. Of course, the culmination of the speech was the famous "WIND OF CHANGE", filled with 166 cellists led by Mstislav Rostropovich.

The speech was so inspired by the rockers that for the next project they invited the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra to cooperate, and for the desired solemn attitude, the configuration was rented in Vienna. In addition to the branded ballad, the program entered the program of hit "Rock You Like a Hurricane", called "Hurricane 2000" and sounded hardly not expressively, and a beautiful Caver version of the song Diaan Warren "Here in My Heart". A capital composition was written specifically to the exhibition "Expo 2000", which was held at the homeland of Scorpions in Hannover. Another remarkable number was the tool version of the CrossFire hit, entry to which "Moscow Region Evenings". In the German charts, the album hit the third place, "shutting up" also in the hit parades of Portugal, France, Switzerland and not indifferent to Hard Roku. In the latter case, however, the disk hit only a hundredth place - but who said that the quality of work is determined primarily in places in the charts?

Kiss - "Symphony: Alive IV"

(2003)

Initially, the group wanted to release a fourth concert album in a more traditional form and in classic composition, however, problems with labels led to the fact that the record was put on the shelf, but the group herself managed to jump onto the head of the outgoing fashion train. On February 28, a concert took place in Melbourne, in the first separation of which the group performed 6 songs by traditional rock-makeup, and then invited a symphonic ensemble Melbourne to the scene, continuing the show with such hits as "Beth" and "Sure Know Something". With each act, the level of the downgrade increased, until the apogee was reached in the third office with a full-fledged symphony orchestra: the weather did not spoil even the fact that the guitarist on this show instead of the veteran Eys Frieli became Tommy Taire, who had previously hijacked in Caver Group. For consupportion of the orchestra's musicians, they smeared under the KISS participants: however, nor on the game first, nor on the quality of the second show it did not affect the second. And this is one of those concerts, watching that no less fascinating than to listen - after all, these four people were always famous for the quality of living speeches.

Aria - "Classic Aria"

(2016)

He did not pay attention to the new fashion and main heavy group of the country: In 2001, the team became the headliner of the festival "invasion", where he submitted a concert program with the Symphony Orchestra "Globalis" under the control of Konstantin Krims. The speech was so successful that in 2002 the musicians went to a symphony tour, and on November 29, 2015, in the Moscow Crocus City Hall in the framework of the Festival "Aria Fest", another concert was played with Globalis, which this time conducted a Swedish conductor Ulf Vadbrandt: This concert has become the basis for the album later.

Interestingly, attention is noteworthy not so much the orchestra acting in the shade of the corporate heavy sound of the group, how many confident singing of Mikhail Zymigova, who replaced Valery Kipipelova and Arthur of Berkut as a vocalist. Of course, the real fans recognize only one real vocalist "Aria", and the change of this kind is never painless, but this is the case when the group finally pulled out a happy ticket. And, most importantly, it concerns not only new songs, but also those familiar to every true "Aryans".

THE CRANBERRIES - "Something ELSE"

(2017)

On the second ten new century sometimes it seems that the stars of the century of the last secretly followed by someone's recipe: if there is a creative crisis - prepare the remake album or cavuls. At first glance, on the same way, they decided to go and reunited the Cranberries, on the first of five years of which there are only three new songs, all the other - versions of old hits accompanied by an Irish chamber orchestra. However, Dolores O'Riordan's voice is still charming, and the group herself itself went into people in the grunge era, always differed primarily with melodicity, whose roots are in Irish folk music. And if the majority of the plates presented in this review are a kind of duel between rock and classics, then The Cranberries often allow themselves to dissolve the orchestra sound and allow fans not only to hear favorite songs in an unusual version, but also listen and evaluate texts that are often lost in the usual guitar environment.

Symphony Orchestra under the control of Wolf Gorelika (Return from the USSR (Back From USSR) 2003)
In this album, the symphony orchestra under the control of Wolf Gorelika - - performs instrumental versions of popular in the 80s, the 90s of the songs of Russian rockers. The Russian rock, not as an example of Western, in symphony processing you can hear quite rarely, or rather, it is almost impossible. The release of this album "Return from the USSR" his creators once again wanted to remind the listeners about the time when these iconic works were created, which included in the Golden Fund of the Russian Rock of Music. Concert presentation of the album "Russian Rock in Classic. Return from the USSR "passed on March 19, 2003. in the Kremlin. Those who wish to listen to the classics of Russian rock performed by the symphony orchestra found a little - the curtain opened before half the filled parquet. The scene ranked his place orchestra with Wolf Gorelika, the conductor waved with a stick with a hundred men and women dressed in Thraits and Strict Evening Dresses, and the concert began. For the almost unrecognizable version of the song "Change", Viktor Tsoi followed the exit of the leading concert of Seva Novgorodtsev, who in turn represents all the participants of the amazing concert. The right to open the program fell by the leader of the "Time Machine" by Andrei Makarevich. With the full silence of the orchestra, the musician, playing on the electric guitar, sang two songs, the most divided by their writing. And then, moving to the side, admired, people with violins, double bass and flutes work over his "sunny island". Konstantin Nikolsky, whose songs on the estimates of Seva on student parties beat all records in terms of performance, prepared three songs: "I myself am from those", "breeze" and "musician". The last thing, completely transformed by new tools, presented in its version and the orchestra under the cry "Bravo" and "beautifully". Since not all musicians involved in the recording of the Album "Russian Rock In Classic", on this day on the Kremlin site, gradually the concert turned into a contest "Guess the melody". Fortunately, the audiences could hope for the help of the lead, jokes and booms of the represented the authors of the played composition. "If Boris Grebenshchikov, who holding distant tours, saw what they did with his song" the sky becomes closer! " - helped Novgorod to listeners, once again in bewilderment before it seems to be a familiar melody. A similar situation happened to the thing Vladimir Kuzmina "Mom, I got into trouble." An explicit favorite of the concert, in which the group "Agat Christi" and "Moral Code" began attended, became a calm Yuri Shevchuk. Answering a smile at the recognition of "Yura, we love you!", He allowed to sing instead of himself on a venue from the "wind" and "rain". And then, by removing the scenes, with a huge excitement, which later reported the omnipresent Novgorod, Shevchuk listened to how the harvester reproduces the sound of the droplets from the song just performed by him.
