- To become a good opera singer and make an international career, today it is not enough to have a voice. It is important to be an educated musician, be able to communicate with different people, have excellent memory, talk in several languages. Also, they will also have to expose the stress of many hours of flights and acclimatization, and all this is done to the detriment of the family and children, which due to touring, maybe it will be possible to see not often.

At the same time, the most important factor is the constant maintenance of the form by classes with the teacher of vocals (even after 20 years of career), classes with a tutor, helping to learn new games, and just work at home.

The singer, like any other professional musician, develops a lifetime, even to some extent, more than others, since over the years its tool is growing and grows in volume, which you can not tell about clarinets or pianists. The repertoire of the singer is also associated with a fortress and voting volume. My goals are related to the expansion of the repertoire.

- What is your first bright impression of music?
- When I was in kindergarten under Pushkin, I got angry and missed many rehearsals of the musical holiday, which was preparing for February 23 and March 8. When I came to the kindergarten after illness, the teacher did not allow me to perform with other children. I was very worried. But then the nurse gave me a pity of the spoon, and I performed a virtuoso solo on them, showing an outstanding feeling of rhythm. After that, I was allowed to play in the mini-orchestra of the older group, and I turned out to be a very necessary link, as I got well in the first fraction, which the orchestra could not do. - What is the hardest in the profession and the most difficult thing in life?
- The most difficult thing in the profession is to constantly prove its performance, continuously collected. And for "free artists", like me, is a job search and the unknownness of tomorrow. You get used to it, but it always lives in consciousness. Our life is our profession, our roles styled and renewed with great difficulty.

- What would you do if you were not a musician?
- If not music, then, probably, architecture. I love to draw at home, palaces and cathedrals.

- Yes of course. My musical formation occurred in church music. - Do you remember how the first time was in the temple?
- I walked with my grandmother, opposite which was born. In my memory, he was always valid. And I remember when the 1000th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus in 1988 was celebrated (and I lived on Glinka Street), I first saw a procession from my window.

- Well, I know these people who are now singing at the festive table. But about the general trend - I think it is generally connected with the decline of intelligentsia. Because when it is a little resolved, in Russia there is always a surge of culture, as in the XIX century. The cultural figures of the time created the base on which the art of the first half of the twentieth century was constructed. And with the disappearance of the intelligentsia as a social class in the Soviet Union, this culture may have really went to the decline. But in the situation in which we are now and in which music does not earn in any way, few people become musicians.

But I understood that it would be already with my part that "getting something for nothing", about which she just warned me ... Therefore, I tried to take myself in my hands, shut down as much as my raging emotions could and guys rushed honestly "defend" his right point ...

C.: Are you studying the character in any way? Or just within a specific opera?

- The study of the character consists of a musical part to which you start immediately after signing a certain contract. We study the motcher and read the libretto - accordingly, first its own role, because it is interesting that it is written there for you further, and then you look at other parties and understand how what is happening on the scene.

If you are lucky on the debut of the opera role, there is a sensor director with his useful thoughts and tips, it is very helpful to lay the cornerstone in the creation of a character that will change, enriched and grow from setting it, if, of course, the people of the theater will like yours The first execution and you will be invited to another theater to fulfill the same role. The same applies to the conductor, and in this tandem (singer - conductor - director) can be born something worthwhile, and if all three participants of Tandem are great people in their profession, something is born something unique.

Ts.: Is it true that in group scenes a crowd chats when not sings?

- In the opera theater, the choir is usually chatting, not a massive, and even then only at rehearsals, if this is a decent theater. And so, of course, in a large cluster of people, when the mouth is not busy and everyone knows each other, the sin does not talk while there is a tenor sofa!

I really never liked the music from the US-English market, except for a little, in 14-15 years. Neither U2, nor Elton John, nor George Michael, or even Michael Jackson, Beatles or Elvis Presley ... Well, I was not fanatically configured to listen to all this, just like Russian pop. Although I got acquainted with the work of almost all "Greats" - from Billy Evans to Tom Waits, and Pink Floyd with LED Zeppelin. But since my first trip to Brazil and, of course, during my life, I met the whole Universe of Brazilian Music: Dozens of ingenious songwriters, People's Brazilian music (in a simple - samba) - melodiousness, rhythm, harmonic abundance - all I am attracted in it. I learned to play this music and now I even spend on a professional scene, performing songs in Portuguese in my beloved style of Boss Nova. Name only the three name from a hundred is Tom Zobim, Joao Zhilbert and Kaetano veloco.

C.: What are the opera scenes of the world (not in Russia) have you been able to work? What are the differences between different schools of opera singing?

- I worked in forty countries and sang abroad about a hundred productions - in Asia, Europe, South and North America. In the asset almost all the main or major theaters. In the period of universal globalization and the era of plates and the Internet, it seems to me that the question of the various schools are erased, as well as the virtual borders between the cultures of different countries. This earlier, sailing on a steamer in Italy or arriving at the crosses to Russia, people could hear other singers for the first time and tell themselves: "Wow! Here they sing quite differently! " And now any sound, grinding or Kix, executed by someone in Argentina, can be heard in Japan in Japan in Japan. And, of course, listening and comparing, people learn better. Ts.: I would like to take part (or have already taken?) In some opera experiments, when this is not classical productions, and something new?

- I took part in the first formulation of the modern opera "Three sisters" on Chekhov - sang a par of salty. It was a very unusual performance created by the efforts of Japanese producers. The concept of the opera consisted of using elements of Kabuki and the Japanese plastic theater Boto. All women's roles were performed by grated counterparts (male soprano), and the costumes were created in the Kenzo designer. This production toured a lot. There are record and video.

C.: What do you like most of your profession? What is it like a opera singer?

- I like to sing in my profession. This is a call! It is impossible to stop doing if you can still. This is theater and his magic! Artistic entrance, dressing rooms, scenes, empty hall and scene two hours before action ... This is the audience, which is waiting for a miracle every moment, huge challenge adrenaline and energy exchange with the hall. On the stage you forget about everything, except for the scene. I missed the exam on choral and symphonic conducting, so I entered the Vocal Faculty and no longer left with this path. In the most difficult minute, I knew: I am here to sing and through music to transmit some energy to the hall.

Sure. This is the purpose of our trips to the Russian outback. In two years I traveled 80 cities and watching great interest everywhere. We are waiting for us and then they write the sea letters with gratitude.
