Zuraba Tsereteli at Petrovka 25 - Museum of Contemporary Art, or rather, is one of the four buildings allocated by the Moscow authorities to the President of the Academy of Arts. The considered separation occupies a historic building, and the museum entrance is pretty changing his appearance.

Considering the entrance to the museum, the massiveness should be noted, even the bulky of a simple architectural element. Wedge-shaped stone blocks stylized under antiquity with imitation of rock images hang over the entrance, absolutely disturbed by the Great Matthem Cossack appearance of the structure of the late XVIII century. The fact is that because of the neighborhood with the temple on the opposite side of the street, the architect placed the front part of the building in the courtyard and now could not know his creation.

The appearance of the territory of the indian building on Petrovka Street 25 The Museum of Contemporary Art has changed beyond recognition. It clearly confirms the slider with the studies of the work of the Tsereteli placed on the area adjacent to the building. Characteristic images of its characters characteristic of the visual manner of the sculptor, and even in mass quantities, leave an ambiguous impression. Who would not depict Zurab Konstantinovich, it turns out something massive and quite conditional.

And you depict the sculptures of the ceretelus of a variety of people, images are also real, and fictional, and generalized. Shostakovich is still like himself, but Vysotsky almost caricature. Don Quixote with her squire is generally collected from scrap metal, I would like to believe that this is not the creation of the country's chief artist. The rest of the sculptures represent abstract participants in the national games, musicians and citizens of old Georgia.

The main ladder of a mansion built by the Cossack for a breeder from the Urals Griber, from modern art trends was not injured. Gray stone steps are preserved, classic white railing, arched input and the same window openings at the top.

Lifting up to museum chairs, visitors have time to relax from the oppressive impression that arises from many of them in the courtyard mansion. Sunlight penetrating outside not only illuminates the upcoming path, but also raises the mood before inspecting the exhibition exposure.

When lifting the stairs, visitors appear ceiling and wall paintings, made in a fairly rarely found scenic technique. Various military symbols and attributes, plant elements and other creator's plan are depicted. Murals are similar to stucco or bas-reliefs, which is achieved by using a special decoration reception.

The drawing in the art technology, meaning the use of paint only one color, allows you to obtain the effect of the volume at the expense of various shades. Such technology is applied not only in the paintings of the walls and ceilings with paints, but also in engravings, stained glass windows, when decorating dishes and coloring of fabrics.

The purpose of visiting only the small part of visitors to the historic building is the capital institution on Petrovka street 25 - Museum of Contemporary Art with its constant exposition, although the picturesque collection of Tsereteli includes many outstanding works of the classics of the Russian avant-garde of the last century and modernity.

Now the exhibition was presented: Antonio Gaudi. Barcelona. The work of the architect of the capital of Catalonia appeared before the Russians for the first time.

The exhibition is preceded by a description of the life path and creative biography of Gaudi, made in chronological sequence.

Although the initial goal of our review exhibition of magnificent architect was not, passing by such significant exhibits would be unforgivable, because our readers can still have time to visit this rarest event. On the subsequent slider, snapshots are given both from the exhibition and on the way to Spanish materials.

You can see historical materials about the famous architect, its drawings and even the layouts of the cakes made by them - great masters are often unpredictable in the manifestations of their talents. By the way, the confectionery decorations can be compared with a mosaic, which Gaudi actively applied in their works. The main exhibits are definitely - the layouts of the buildings built by them, as well as their images.

The exhibition presents a layout of one of the most significant works by Antonio Gaudi Civil Plan - the residential building of the Barcelona Mila family, after the end of which Gaudi fully switched to work on the project of the Church of the Atonement of the Holy Family - Sagrada Familia ..

The public nicknamed Mila's house, this is a kind of bizarre structure, a quarry (in Spanish La Pedrera) for an unusual constructive decision as a whole, as well as for the original construction of the supporting part and design.

Partially open buildings of the building show its internal device in which Gaudi Novatorski used the monolithic reinforced concrete structure, where the walls are not load-carrying elements.

To see the layout of one of the best creations of the architect Gaudi - the famous home of the Mila family (quarry) can be on Petrovka 25 - the Museum of Contemporary Art organized the exhibition of his work.

The uneven walls of the construction are similar to sea waves, and forged backed lattices are simply separate works of art. The house has two internal courtyards, where the windows of all apartments come out besides messages with street space. This allows you to do without air conditioners in the hottest weather.

The roof of the quarry is decorated with a variety of architectural elements, among which films are even underway. In the old Hall of the mansion - a museum over a mockup of an unusual house, a certain screen was placed or ensuring the reflection of the roof for inspection, or a protective valuable exhibit from the collapse of the ceiling painting particles from the unfinished restoration.

The ancient colonnade of the Corinthian order decorates one of the premises of the Museum of Contemporary Art. This is a little that remains of the decorations of the former Palace of the Ural Breeder.

Further, our slider presents separate exhibition exhibition fragments reflecting the main stages of Gaudi's creativity. You can see the authentic set of drawing tools of the architecture (ready), as well as the layouts of many Barcelona buildings built by his projects.

The Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art is a unique state museum in its kind. It is completely directed to the demonstration of the works of modern authors, that is, on the works of this and last centuries. This museum is the most dynamic in the artistic life of Moscow.

The Museum of Contemporary Art is located in four places of the historic center of the capital.

 1. On the street Petrovka in a beautiful house, which once belonged to the merchant of Rubin. This is the main building in which most exposure is focused.
 2. In the 5-storey exhibition house in Ermolaevsky Lane.
 3. In the gallery on Tver Boulevard.
 4. Exposures are arranged at Gogol Boulevard, 10, located at the State Museum of Modern Art of the Russian Academy of Arts.

In addition, the works of artists and sculptors are demonstrated directly in the workshop of the architect Zurab Tsereteli, located on the street of Big Georgian, 15.

Museum collection

The Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art was founded in 1999. The founder and permanent director - the famous sculptor Zurab Tsereteli. The first exhibits were his 2 thousand works, which then supplemented with the works of other modern masters. The collection of works well demonstrates the stages of the development of avant-garde flow in art.

The lion's share in the collection belongs to the work of Russian authors, the rest is foreign masters. This is the graphics of Pablo Picasso, the sculpture of Salvador Dali, painting Henri Rousseau and many more wonderful creators.

The core of the exposure is the classics of the avant-garde, it is Russian, the beginning of the 20th century. These works were not refunded from abroad to Russia. Here the Malevich Casimir cannon, Kandinsky Vasily and Chagal Mark, Sculpture Lentulov Aristarha and Tsadkina Osip.

The museum is entitled to be proud of the collection of paintings by the artist-primitivist from Georgia Niko Pirosmani. It was the first representative of primitive art in the post-Soviet space, and it was about him in a song "Million Scarlet Roses".

The solid number of works belongs to the samples of the creativity of nonconformist artists of the 60-80 years of the last century. In those years, they were considered almost underground, but now they are appreciated abroad, and in Russia. This is Kabakov Ilya, Zverev Anatoly, Yakovlev Vladimir and many others.

The collection is regularly replenished, the development of contemporary art in the Russian Federation is maintained and around the world.

Free creativity

All exhibitions are intended to maximize the artistic culture of the XX and XXI century. Dozens of exhibition projects are arranged every year: debut shows of young authors, conceptual expositions, retrospectives of the most famous artists, international festivals.

In addition to the organization of exhibitions, the museum opened for novice artists to school of contemporary art. These are "free workshops", where for two years there is a full-fledged training for artistic skills. There is a children's studio "Fantasy", in which there are quite young artists with pleasure.

Contemporary art often leaves contradictory opinions. But it does not leave anyone indifferent. But to wake a soul and thought is the main task of any art. Of the articles and reviews of other people of their own, objective opinion is impossible. You need to at least once visit this unique museum. Many visitors were not at all fans of such an artistic style direction, until they fell for the first time in this museum. Visiting the Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art is not boring, on the contrary, time passes very exciting.

On the Day of Cultural Heritage, April 18, I managed to get on a tour of the project "Exit to the City" in the estate of Gybin, a better known as the Museum of Contemporary Art. The former manor, and now the museum is located in the center of Moscow, on Petrovka Street. I share my review of visiting the Museum of Contemporary Art on Petrovka.

After writing on a tour of the gyuba estate through the social network (from the project "Exit to the city"), was terribly satisfied with himself. I managed, I managed! - I was glad, anticipating another interesting journey into the past. The excursion began at 16-00, but I, as always, managed to be late. Well, more precisely, the minibus is to blame, which is stuck in the traffic jam (one is always to blame for an old tradition). I had to transfer from the minibus on the subway, to get to the colored boulevard, and there literally run running with a camera Nerinaov, to Petrovka Street. In general, the difficult path had to overcome - that's what a thrust for knowledge!

Fuh, rejecting the Spirit, I saw a bunch of intelligent people in the courtyard of the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Is this an excursion from the exit to the city "? I asked.

Yes, yes, the answer is a pretty aunt, - by the way, your face is familiar. Some and the same faces on excursions.

My heart was so calmed down after the marathon run, and I decided to look around. The courtyard of the museum is an exposition of unusual sculptures in the open-air. In the distance, the courtyard was visible to the cafe "Mart". In the courtyard, by the way, you can go completely free, without visiting the museum.

Despite the beginning of the fifth, nobody began to start. "Well, in vain Bezhala" - swept in the head. However, we were not allowed for a long time - a local guide was released from the museum building and led us to the Manor-Museum.

First of all, it should be noted at Petrovka 25, there are several objects:

1) the well-preserved building of the architect Matthew Kazakov;

2) a collection of contemporary art, which is exhibited in the halls of the former estate of Gybin;

3) The courtyard of the manor, where a variety of open-air sculptures are located.

The entrance to the Museum of Modern Art of Moscow is unusually issued, I personally reminded something in the cave.

The first thing you pay attention to, entering the building is a beautiful massive wooden door, very heavy.

In the former front halls, as in the classic estate, leads a luxury staircase. On both sides of the stairs and on the ceiling, images are placed in the art of Griezail (painting with various shades, imitating stucco). By the way, in the art of the Griezail also painted the dome of the round hall in Petrovsky Travel Palace .

The guide began a story about the history of an old Moscow building.

Museum building Matthew Kazakova

So, about the manor. The building in which the Museum of Contemporary Art is located is a monument of the architecture of Moscow of the XVIII century. The building was built in 1793 on the project of the famous architect Matvey Kazakov. In history, it entered the gyuba manor. Many years ago, this building belonged to Mikhail Pavlovich Rubin, rich in the Urals industrial. Apparently, in those days, everyone, they all sought to Moscow, nothing changes over the years.

From the street Petrovka building is just fine. Impeccable style Matthew Kazakov: Clear lines, noble columns. The facade of a typical Moscow estate goes to the Red Street line, while the rest of the estate, hidden from prying eyes, was behind the main building. It was an unusual solution for those times. By the way, until the end of the XIX century, the estate was a small pond, which was covered - the land in Moscow was always expensive. In 1880, the main house was passed under the gymnasium. It is known that the famous poet symbolist Valery Bryusov and the Bakhrushin brothers studied in it.

In 1920, the Institute of Physiotherapy and Orthopedics appeared on the site of the former gymnasium. And right up to the moment the museum appeared on these walls, there was a hospital institution. During this time, the exterior finish and the interior would have done themselves very much, the capital restoration took. Low bow to those people who restored the external and interior decoration of the manor.

As a result, the museum's visitor can now see the unique paintings of the mansion ceilings performed in the classic spirit. Interior elements - a parade staircase, an orchestral niche in a ballroom, ceramic furnaces - still coming to us atmosphere of Moscow antiquity.

Despite the rich history inside the interiors practically not preserved, in fact there are only walls and paintings of the ceilings. Because of what many excursants were upset, waiting to see inside something "old-noble". But in some halls on the ceilings, a wonderful painting in the artician already mentioned by me has been preserved. I post a photo, so that everyone can appreciate this beauty.

Exposition of the Museum of Contemporary Art

But back from the former magnificence into modernity. In the former estate, Gubin is the Museum of Contemporary Art of Moscow. That is, it turned out a very unusual combination - the art of the XX and XXI centuries, and the old architecture.

Immediately I will say that the museum is better to visit with the excursion, because you yourself can hardly understand something if you are certainly not a connoisseur of modern art.

A very nice guide of the museum held us a real excursion into the world of contemporary art.

The museum's chip is still there are various exhibitions. At the time of our excursion, the museum held an exhibition "Dreams for those who wake up".

Description of the concept of the exhibition from the official website of the museum (I confess, I myself would not write so much): The task of the new, fifth on the account, the thematic exposition of the Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art is to analyze the patterns of audience perception through the prism of the eternal, relevant and reindeer opposition of the "true" and "phantom" image. In other words, to explore the conflict rooted in Western culture between a positive, rational idea of the image as a transparent "window to the world" and is directly opposed to visual similarities as suspicious or frankly dangerous fantasies. Rarely detecting in such an exertired form, these psychological attitudes are represented by a dynamic pair: they are able to change places depending on the point of view.

Similar words are the exhibition-rebus, where modern artists and sculptors offer to solve various riddles, including figurative thinking. It is amazing and interesting.

In the first hall, we literally "looked into the eyes of modern art," and the big "eye" of art looked at us from the canvas. Who is who, in general. In the glance with "art" it is better not to play, you will still lose. The feeling is strange, I confess. In a small room, "eyes" were exhibited in different forms: drawing, telescope, etc.

In the second hall it was still cooler. Unusual installations are exhibited in the former ballroom, on the topic of dreams, who responded to our consciousness in prehistoric times, in the cave of ancient people. All the action took place in the dark-dark hall, the huge windows of the ballroom were played.

Dreams for those who wake

If not a guide, I would not understand anything, it's honestly. And thanks to her, everything was put on the shelves in the head.

To understand the essence of the exposition, a few more works.

Among the artists whose work is exhibited at the current exhibition: AES + F, Nikita Alekseev, Sergey Bratkov, Oleg Vasilyev, Francisco Infanta, Ilya Kabakov and many others.

I still really liked this unusual corridor.

Modern Art Museum

We spent in the museum for about an hour, but time flew unnoticed.

Yard with unusual sculptures

After a walk on the estate, the guide offered us to show interesting exhibits in the courtyard of the museum. Well, who will refuse? However, there were few wishing to be, and from the group of 20 people in the yard out only 5.

In the courtyard most interesting specimen is ... a piece of stairs. But this is not an ordinary staircase, it is part of the Eiffel Tower's stairs, which literally "melted" on the museums of modern art of the world.

Here you can see all the famous heroes of the film "Mimino", a monument to Vysotsky, the composition "Citizens" and many other sculptures.

Part of the stairs from the real Eiffel Tower

In general, this excursion was very interesting. However, all those who are looking for in this estate preserved noble interiors will be disappointed. But those who want to plunge into the world of contemporary art, to get acquainted with the works of the authors of the twentieth century, will definitely be rewarded with a mass of impressions and new knowledge. And I'll take myself on the note by the courtyard with sculptures, where you can hide from the bustle of the center of Moscow.

History of the building

The main building of the Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art is a historical and cultural value. In the history of the city of Moscow, this monument of architecture, belonging to the XVIII century, remained known as the Gyuba mansion. Once he really was the main home of the city estate of the rich Ural industrialist and merchant Mikhail Pavlovich Gybina. The building was built in 1793 on the project of the famous Russian architect Matthew Kazakov.

The place where the manor house is located is the current museum - it was covered by Muscovites in the XIV century. Then the street Petrova was a deserted road, stretching from the High Pettrovsky Monastery - Visiti Museum Building - to the Kremlin itself. Until the end of the XVII century in place, where the mansion is now, there was a slobs of monastic lifelong people. In the time of Peter I on Petrovka, opposite the monastery, the ownership of the boyars of Naryshkin, whose house was reported to an overhead transition across the street with a monastery.

After the change of a whole series of owners, the land plot went to the owner, whose name remained immortalized thanks to his wonderful estate, the main home of which came to us almost unchanged. "House I have, in the White Town ... Dmitry Kuzmina Son Kraschiennikova, who got to me on the bugs from the Orenburg merchant ..." - so the ruralists of Gubin himself in the Moscow office of urban structures on May 25, 1799. Researchers engaged in the architectural heritage of Matthew Kazakov repeatedly expressed the assumption that the main house of the manor was rebuilt with an architect from the older building. The mansion together with the side filties (one of them was preserved to our time) was a typical Moscow manor ensemble, who left the facade on the Red Street line. Behind the buildings were a park with a small pond. In this form, the estate existed until the end of the XIX century. Then she was postgraded by the fate of most old Moscow estates: the area of ownership occurred. Most of his part, together with the garden and the pond, was sold and built up. In 1880, the main house was passed under the gymnasium. It is known that the famous poet symbolist Valery Bryusov and the Bakhrushin brothers studied in it.

After the revolution for the building, a new life began again. In 1920, the former gymnasium was determined by the Institute of Physiotherapy and Orthopedics. The entire Soviet period, until the moment when the mansion was transferred to the museum destination, there was a hospital institution. During this time, the exterior finish and the interior would have done themselves very much, the capital restoration took. As a result, the museum's visitor can now see the unique paintings of the mansion ceilings performed in the classic spirit. Interior elements - a parade staircase, an orchestral niche in a ballroom, ceramic furnaces - still coming to us atmosphere of Moscow antiquity.

The idea to adapt the mansion to the room for the Museum of Contemporary Art is not accidental. In combination of old and new forms, in the near neighborhood of absolutely different eras for the artist, and the viewer opens the possibility of self-determination in the synthetic space of culture. This element of a free game with historical material is peculiar to postmodern aesthetics in general. Exposure of the works of contemporary art in the architectural space of another era is well known to European countries.
