So, about the manor. The building in which the Museum of Contemporary Art is located is a monument of the architecture of Moscow of the XVIII century. The building was built in 1793 on the project of the famous architect Matvey Kazakov. In history, it entered the gyuba manor. Many years ago, this building belonged to Mikhail Pavlovich Rubin, rich in the Urals industrial. Apparently, in those days, everyone, they all sought to Moscow, nothing changes over the years.

In 1920, the Institute of Physiotherapy and Orthopedics appeared on the site of the former gymnasium. And right up to the moment the museum appeared on these walls, there was a hospital institution. During this time, the exterior finish and the interior would have done themselves very much, the capital restoration took. Low bow to those people who restored the external and interior decoration of the manor.

As a result, the museum's visitor can now see the unique paintings of the mansion ceilings performed in the classic spirit. Interior elements - a parade staircase, an orchestral niche in a ballroom, ceramic furnaces - still coming to us atmosphere of Moscow antiquity.

Despite the rich history inside the interiors practically not preserved, in fact there are only walls and paintings of the ceilings. In the second hall it was still cooler. Unusual installations are exhibited in the former ballroom, on the topic of dreams, who responded to our consciousness in prehistoric times, in the cave of ancient people. All the action took place in the dark-dark hall, the huge windows of the ballroom were played.
