At the sunset of his work, Shakespeare composes a number of immortal works that surprised contemporaries with their new form. In them, the tragedy is combined with the comedy, and the fabulous plots are woven into the canvas description of situations from everyday life. First of all, these are the fantasy plays "storm", the "winter fairy tale", as well as dramas on the ancient stories - "Coriolian", "Anthony and Cleopatra". In these works, Shakespeare acted as a large connoisseur of the laws of a drama, which is easily and gracefully collects together the tragedy and fairy tales features, complex high syllables and understandable speech turnover.

In the family of the youngest daughter Shakespeare Judith, who was married literally two months after the death of his father for Thomas Quini, there were three boys, but they all died in his youth. Therefore, straight descendants from Shakespeare left left.

  • No one knows the exact date of the appearance of William Shakespeare. In the historians Arsenal, there is only a church record about the baptism of the baby, which was available on April 26, 1564. Researchers suggest that the rite was performed on the third day after birth. Accordingly, an incredible way the date of birth and death of the playwright fell on the same number - April 23.
  • The great English poet had a phenomenal memory, his knowledge could be compared with encyclopedic. In addition to ownership of two ancient languages, he also knew modern dialects of France, Italy and Spain, although he himself never left the borders of the English state. Shakespeare disassembled both in thin historical issues and in the current political situation. His knowledge was affected by music and painting, he thoroughly studied the whole Plast Botany.

  • Many historians tend to think about the alternative orientation of the poet, referring to the fact of a separate residence of the playwright from the family, as well as his long friendship with Count Southampton, who had a habit of dressing in women's clothing and apply a large amount of paint on her face. But there is no direct evidence to this.
  • The Protestant religion of Shakespeare and his family remains doubtfully. There are indirect evidence about belonging to his father to the Catholic denomination. But during the reign of Elizabeth I was forbidden to be an open Catholic, so many adherents of this branch simply covered off the reformers and visited the Catholic worship service secretly.

  • The only autograph writer who came to the present day is his testament. In it, he lists all his property to the smallest detail, but never mentions his literary writes.
  • For life, presumably, Shakespeare changed about 10 professions. He was a guard at the stables of the theater, actor, co-founder of the theater and the director of performances. In parallel with the acting activities, William led usury affairs, and at the end of his life he was engaged in brewing and handed over the housing.
  • Modern historians support the version of an unknown writer, who made Shakespeare with his stacked face. Even the British Encyclopedia does not refuse the version that Shakespeare could create the plays under the pseudonym, Count Edward De Ver. More on a number of guessing it could be Lord Francis Bacon, Queen Elizabeth I and even a whole group of people of aristocratic origin.

  • The poetic syllable of Shakespeare had a great influence on the development of English, formed the basis of modern grammar, as well as enriching the literary speech of the British with new phrases, which quotes from the works of the classic were used. Shakespeare left in heritage to compatriots more than 1,700 new words.

Famous quotes Shakespeare

Famous phrases of the classic often contain philosophical thoughts that are expressed very precisely and concise. A large number of fine observations is devoted to the love sphere. Here is some of them:

"The sins of others judge you are so diligent - start with your own and not get to others."

"One glance can kill love, you can resurrect it in the same look."

Brief biography of William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare is an outstanding English poet and playwright. He is considered the greatest writer of English origin and one of the best playwrights in the world. Shakespeare for legend was born on April 23, 1564 in Stratford-on-Avon. On April 26, he was baptized in the Church of the Holy Trinity. The writer's father was a wealthy artisan and was often elected to important posts. There is information that he was the mayor Stratford-on-Avon. Shakespeare's mother took place from the ancient Rod Arden. Presumably, the boy visited Stratford Grammar School, where Latin studied and literature.

Upon reaching 18 years old, he married Ann Khataui - the daughter of one wealthy landowner, who for several years was older than him. They had three children. When William was about 23 years old, he moved to London, where she got a job. At first he performed any minor work, and then settled in the theater. It is significant unknown when his career began, but biographers include this stage by the mid-1580s. In 1592, Shakespeare was already a famous playwright, as well as a member of the London acting troupe of Barbrej, who, with Yakov I received royal status. By this time, the first mention of the historical chronicle of the Writer "Heinrich VI", which was raised on the stage of the Rosa Theater belonging to Philip Hensloau.

In 1599, his troupe was built a new theater on the southern shores of the Thames called "Globus". A few years later, they acquired another poxtier closed theater. Thanks to the rapid theater career, Shakespeare soon became a very rich man. There is information that already in 1597 he acquired one of the largest homes in his native Stratford. From 1598, his name was Pepllov on publication leaflets. Singing acting and dramaturgical activity, Shakespeare spent most of his time in London, but in the interruptions left home. There is information that he preferred to play in his theater "Royal Roles". So, for example, he played Hamlet's father, choir in Henrich V, etc.

At the beginning of the XVII century, many London theaters closed due to plague outbreaks. Actors, staying unemployed, left home. So, shortly before his death, Shakespeare returned to Stratford-on-Avon. For 1606-1607, he wrote a few more plays, and in 1613 he stopped writing at all. It is believed that the last three plays were written in conjunction with another playwright - John Fletcher. Shakespeare died on April 23, 1616. For his browse career, he wrote more than 10 tragedies, 17 comedies, 10 historical chronicles, more than 150 sonnets and a lot of romantic poems. The most famous of his works are "Sleeping in the Summer Night", "King Lear", "Hamlet", "Taming of the Shrew", "Macbeth", "Othello", "Many noise from nothing", and of course, Romeo and Julietta " A clear chronology of the appearance of the works of Shakespeare is not.

Shakespeare was born in Stratford - on Avon in the artisan family. In early 1590, he was already an actor one of the London troupe, and in a few years she became the largest playwright of his time. The contemporary of Shakespeare Ben Johnson gave him an accurate rating: "Our soul of our century ... Yes, you will be glorified at all times ..." (1623).

Age of Shakespeare, English Renaissance, inherent in the courage of thought, latitudes of dance, painfulness of doubts, the depth of feelings, the combination of funny and tragic was reflected in the work of Shakespeare.

In the work of the playwright, three stages are usually allocated. 1590-1599. - the time of creating historical chronicles ("Richard III", "Heinrich VI", Heinrich IV ", etc.), early comedy (" Comedy of Errors "," Taming Stropive "," Fancy Efforts of Love "," Sleeping in the Summer Night ", "How do you like it"), poems, tragedy "Romeo and Juliet", sonnets. In 1600-1608 Shakespeare writes mostly tragedy ("Hamlet", "Othello", "King Lear", "Macbeth"). Third The period of creativity (1609-1613) is the appearance of fabulous or romantic drams ("Pericles", "Winter Tale", "Storm", "Cymbelin").

Historical chronicles captured the feudal distinctions of the age of agoi and white rose / 1 "troubled time" of English history, the struggle for power between individuals, groups of people, estates, countries.

The action of the tragedy "Richard III" is concentrated around Richard Glossother, which with the help of monstrous crimes conquers the crown, but cannot hold it. The force of artistic skill Shakespeare condemns despotism and inhumanity generated by them.

Shakespeare's comedy is a festive world of "Thursdays" of love and friendship, full adventures, funny draws, joyful feeling of beauty of life. Cheating, cunning, slander, misunderstanding can not break his harmony for a long time and interfere with the in love to connect. Characters comedy witty, always prone to jokes and leprosy. Shakespeare can see funny in the character of positive heroes. This is the difference between his comedies from comedies, based on the plot of which is the ridicule of the vices of people.

Unlike an ancient understanding of the tragic source of the Shakespeare tragedy - a person, his character, goals and actions. The creatures of the other world (the ghost in the "Gamlet", the witches in Macbeth) do not determine the behavior of the heroes.

Shakespeare depicts not only tragic circumstances, but also moral flour, the strength of the tragic experiences of Gamlet, Othello, Lira and other heroes. Relationships of loved ones (son and mother in Gamlet, Father and daughters in the "King Lira", spouses in "Othello"), reflections on the appointment of a person, his place in the state and the world ("Hamlet", "Othello", "King LIR "), about the complexity and controversivity of the character of a person who is characteristic of good and bad properties (Othello, Macbeth, Lir ...) - these and many other questions are obtained in the tragedies of Shakespeare a unique artistic embodiment. Shakespeare believed in the spiritual strength and beauty of the person. On this faith, his hope for overcoming evil, public injustice. It is not by chance that the romantic fairy tales of the last period of creativity of the playwright, starting with the tragic shocks in the fate of heroes, are completed by the prosperous final.

Shakespeare intended his plays to perform in the theater, and not for publication and reading. In the Shakespeare Theater (he was called "Globus") there was no actress (women's roles in accordance with the customs of that time were performed by boys) and there were no decorations. But the poetic word Shakespeare, his imagery, metaphoricity, possessed magical power. And the viewer from the conversation on the stage about the Burea or exclamations of several soldiers with one sword and I imagined and storm, and the battle.

New and new generations of people around the world are attached to the heritage of Shakespeare, in their own way to perceive it. But Shakespeare's love for life in the consciousness of that beautiful and terrible, which is typical of her, attracts everyone.

Turgenev wrote that for Russian Shakespeare "Not only a loud name who worship only occasionally and published: he became our heritage, he entered our flesh and blood."

Several earlier, Dostoevsky stressed that Shakespeare became an important part of Russian spiritual development ("We were brought up on it, he was familiar with us and largely affected our development"). The story of Russian literature and the history of the Russian theater also testifies that this is true.

Sonnets (1592-1598) - a lyrical story about the feelings of the poet caused by his friendship with the wonderful young men and his love for charming, but ugly darkness, who was in history under the name "Small Lady Sonyetov". The true names of the actors are unknown, but so far scientists do not leave their hope to solve them. It is hardly important, as the name of a friend and the beloved poet. We perceive them with their eyes.

The lyrical hero of sonnets is a complex image of a person, a sharply sensing beauty and tragedy of life, understanding the meaning of poetry, who can express the enthusiasm of love and suffering caused by treason and friend, and girlfriend. It would be a simplification to identify it with the author (as, however, and images of dramatic works).

Shakespeare used the sleeping form, traditional for European lyrics (Dante, Petrarch). Unlike Italian sonnet, English (Shakespearean) Sonnet consists of three quatrains and a population. According to the rules, the sonnet is dedicated to one topic: the first quatrain calls it, the second - develops, the third - prepares the disconnection, the final two-weeks sums up. Sonnet does not describe an event, but expresses feelings, reflections, the mood of the lyrical hero. A greater role in the disclosure of the mental state is played by comparisons taken from the world of nature, for example, the likelihood of youth, maturity, the old age corresponding to the days of the year.

Sonyet number 55 is one of many options for the subject of immortality of poetry (Wed with the "monument" Horace, etc.). Sonnets No. 116 and No. 130 are devoted to love.

Sonyet number 130 violates the centuries-old European tradition, the hazing is not the perfect beloved, but a real woman. Sonnet № 143 shows how Shakespeare, including the sonnet of comparison from everyday life, thus sought the comic effect.

The source for the biographers of Shakespeare was his testament, which speaks of houses and property, but not a word - about books and manuscripts. After two centuries, after the death of the playwright, the theories began to be moved, according to which works attributed to Shakespeare, in fact he does not belong to him. Supporters of this version are based primarily on the fact that not a single puncture of Shakespeare has not been preserved before our time. Nevertheless, so far, sufficient facts for refuting the traditional theory failed.

There are no additional descriptions of the appearance of the playwright, which were made in his life. Starting from the XVIII century, many falsifications appeared on this.
