The cooperation of the famous poet and the playwright of Herarca Ibsen with Edward Grieg brought the world not only an amazing production, but also excellent music. Learn the story of creating an essay, read interesting facts and plot, listen to the compositions performed by the best musicians of our time, and also study the musical characteristics of the most famous numbers on our page.

History of creation

In 1870, the world recognized the new writer. Henrik Ibsen, born and grown in Norway, became famous for the whole world thanks to the composition of the two places "Brandt" and "Per Gunt". In these plays, images of a person and his aspiration in life are opposed. One of the heroes tries to find a true life path, and the other literally runs away from problems and wants to change anything. Per Gunt, as a literary character was quite relevant for all times a psychological model. He did not want to change herself, did not want to look for meaning, he wanted him to take what he was.

Work on the play continued for 1867. In the fall, when the writer was in Sorrento, he finally finished work on an essay consisting of 5 acts, and not divided into paintings. The hero of Norway from the national folklore of Norway was taken as the basis, while Ibsen tried to fill it with the characteristic qualities of Romance, which is in constant wandering, searches, and misses in his life a truly important feeling in his life. Nevertheless, the main qualities of Per Günta can be considered, courage and desire to perform desperate actions.

At the end of 1873, the editors of the work began. Ibsen was very attentive to every detail, music played a particularly important role for him. The writer thought that no one would better cope with the task to compose such a musical accompaniment that could convey the atmosphere of action than Edward Grig. In those days, the composer was known for the whole world. Before that, Grieg did not once wrote romances to the poems of Ibsen, so the musician willingly agreed to cooperate. At the same time, the writer knew exactly what kind of music wants for a particular act.

A creative person who has its own glance and performance is quite difficult to write music, adhering to the rigorous framework and copyright. Perhaps it is for this reason that work on the writing of music was long. Lyrical music, using folk Norwegian motives, was completed first, the rest of the dance part represented complexity. In the first time, the work was not finished, the composer went on a trip over Europe, but also continued to actively compose new numbers and orchesting ready. In the spring of 1875, the score was fully completed.

The premiere of the play took place in February next year, success was stupid. For season, the performance was put 36 times. Ibsen and Grieg is a creative union that managed to create a truly interesting theater representation.

10 years later, a repeated premiere took place in Copenhagen, for which the composer completely rejected the musical material. Again the success and positive reviews, both theatrical and musical critics.

In the future, the composer created two stunning suite from the most striking and independent rooms. The first Suite Op.46 was completely completed in 1888, the second suite was drawn up three years later. The music was recognizable, so many conductors of that time instantly included works in their own repertoire. To date, the music does not lose its own relevance, it still reflects the National Norwegian flavor, peculiar to the work of Edward Griega.

Morning

With the sunrise in the heart to the one who believes comes hope for the best. The new day allows you to start everything differently. The question arises: is it possible to change the world without changing yourself. As in the covenant of the mountain king and trolls: "Always be satisfied with yourself?". And how many obstacles need to be overcome to understand that true happiness is always closer than it seems, and do not need to go for three nine lands to gain it.

Nature of Norway, the feeling of space gives the listener a feeling of calm. All storms will be hunted by themselves, the obstacles will be overcome, if only there was one who believes and waits, no matter what.

Expressive means, to which the composer drawn is a pentatonic, pure transparent harmony and flute timbs, oboe. All this creates pastoral, landscape and painting. Peace of morning nature is that you need to come to harmony.

"Morning" (listen)

Death of Lome

Incredibly lyrical and tragic number. In it, the Migra manages to convey a whole palette of feelings from concentration to despair and unrestrained impulse to the exercise of a long journey. Gradually, the emotional temperature increases and comes to climax using the Choral as the death symbol and the human path limb. But suddenly silence comes, replacing the quiet and surprisingly light music. String tools allow the warmth of the goodbye to the mother and son. Only chromatic intonations, as the symbols of the disease, darken the musical material. The composition is striking with restraint and conciseness and at the same time sensuality and elevated lyrics.

Aitry dance

Illustration of the scene of the dancing animent, Sheikh's daughter, is accompanied by an original dance. The contrast number compared to previous scenes associated with the Norwegian flavor. Flexibility, graziness of the melody, and its eastern beauty emphasize the oriental image of a heroine that combines captivities and cunning. As decorations, the composer uses ringing trills.

"Aitra Dance" (Listen)

In the cave of the mountain king

The gloomy kingdom of the Tough Grandfather is voiced in the rates of low strings and fagoth. Gradually, the sound is becoming increasingly saturated and dynamics. The melody is a little primitive, resembles a mixture of Scottish motifs and march. With each clock, he is gaining momentum, which leads to a climax construction. The entire orchestra rumbles and affects the power and magnificent completeness of the sound. Amazing orchestration. Percussion instruments, creating not only a rhythmic flow, but also a dynamic avalanche, final suite.

Complaint of Ingrid

Bright multi-characteristic sketching opens with a small episode in a rapid pace. The use of all tools, with the exception of heavy copper, allows you to immediately attract attention. This is anger of the abducted bride. Continuing the miniature the topic that is directly related to the Norwegian folklore, namely the wedding folk dance. Second intonation is an image of the crying of the bride, continue with an extensive melody and is completed by a frantic entry material.

Arabian dance

Heat of the Arabian desert. Per Gynt wanders, passing through the sumps. He hears the broken melody in the performance of high wind instruments. A clear rhythm of a large drum makes literally start to dance. Gradually, winding melody passes into the part of string instruments, recreating orientability of oriental music.

Return of Pen Gunta

Years of wanderings imposed a visible mark on Per Gunta, and so, he decided to return back. But here it is waiting for difficulties. The sea is restless, the element is raging, the waves raise over and above. This natural disaster is used as an allegory of a personal tragedy. Life live in vain, the woolness did not bring anything other than wrinkles on the face. The number can be considered not only the semantic, but also tragic culmination.

The great Norwegian composer Edward Grieg lived at the end of the XIX century. He was a contemporary Tchaikovsky, they were familiar.

In 1875, the largest Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen offered Griga to write music to the theatrical stage of the play "Per Gunt".

There is such a genre - applied music. You have heard applied music in any film or theatrical performance (not musical). It only accompanies action and often does not have an independent value. This type of music and ordered Migra Ibsen.

When a great musician takes on the writing of applied, "secondary" music, it often goes beyond the simple accompaniment and becomes an independent artistic work. It happened with the music of Prokofiev for the film "Alexander Nevsky", Shostakovich for the film "Hamlet", Sviridova for the film "Blizzard". It also happened with Mragian music.

Ibsen used a number of vintage Norwegian legends and fairy tales in the play. Her hero, the rustic guy Per Gunt, a mischievous and frivolous dreamer and a fantasist, falls toward evil trolls, who inspire his life rule: "Be always pleased with himself." For bad actions, feather from the village are driven by feather, and he goes travel. Before leaving, he says goodbye to his mother, the old lake, which dies in his hands. The village of Solweig remains in the village, who loves the pen and will wait for him all his life.

Forty years old there are transients in different countries. He was in America, and in China, and in Africa. He covered a dishonest wealth several times, but by the end of his life everything was confused. The poor, unhappy old man returns to his homeland. Preparing to die must be silently, he meets Solweig, who forgives him everything. All the best that once was in the soul of the pen, Solveig retained in his heart.

In the play ibsen a lot of satire, he brutally rises the worst sides of life. But it was little interested in Griga. I see another pen. He himself remained in the heart of Solveig, and so I want to keep it in my music, - wrote Grieg Ibsen.

After the premiere of the performance in 1876, the music of the Grill was so loved by the public that he made up two suite from her for concert performance. Of the 23 music numbers to the play, 8 plays entered the specks.

And music to the spectral, and suite written for the symphony orchestra. Then the composer made the arrangement of both suits for piano. Once we said that the piano has only one timbre. Although good pianists can imitate different timbres, the orchestra with his multiple tools this music sounds, of course, brighter and more colorful.

First Suite. Consists of four parts: "Morning", "Death of Lake", Aitry dance, "In the mountain king cave".

Morning

In the play, this entry to the IV action, which occurs in Africa. But it seems to us North, Norwegian Morning. In the play, this music sounds like a feather remembrance of his distant homeland.

Calm, a serene melody, built on the mastering of a major sober, resembles a simple shepherd naigry. The same phrase alternates in the flute and the oboy in different octaves, as if they echoed at a high distance two shepherded horns.

In this example, you will hear the beginning of the play in the piano arrangement. The following example (orchestral score) sounds an orchestral version.

Example 114.

ALLEGRETTO PASTORALE \u003d 60

But how the beginning of this play looks in scores (for the convenience of reading the clarinets and French horn in this example, weparershed in the overall system and are read in the same place, where they are written; The Alto Party is recorded in the Altovoy Keaway: the middle line - before first octave):

Example 115.

See, the texture is first very transparent, the orchestra sounds like a small chamber ensemble. Morning silence. It just starts to get up the sun. Please note: the cadans of the second phrase modulates to another tonality, "repainting" the topic. The following two holding, again at the flute and oboy, will be in this, new tonality. The sun rose slightly higher, and all the paints have changed. Then the topic will sound in violins, much louder. The sun is brighter, more and higher.

In this miniature, Grieg uses the form free deployment. There are no boundaries between sections, there is only a gradual increase. Music sounds louder, all new and new tools are added, new tonal paints appear, the melody "dissolves" in the sonorous, joyful arpeggies of the entire string group.

Example 116.

And now the whole orchestra sounds. In solar passages of violins and alto, the topic appears - first at the French horn, and then at the oboch, a fagot and cello, doubting to octave. This is not early morning, but a bright noon.

At the end, a transparent texture appears, close to the initial. The topic does not end, but as if "disappear" in the tricks of the clarinet and flutes.

This play used almost the entire orchestra. There are only low copper tools - trombones and tubes. For the music of light, joyful morning, these tools are too powerful and terrible. Grieg saves them for the fourth part, where he frightened us a little.

Death of Lome

Ras dies. Per tells her a fairy tale. In the magic feces, happy, she falls asleep forever.

The play "Death of Lake" is written in a complex two-part form. The first section is full of grief. The second is a light fairy tale of the pen. It uses only a string group. Bow tools can most penetrate human feelings: and pain, and a bright dream.

The music of the first partition is similar to its clear dimension similar to the funeral march, and the accoronic warehouse and warm bow tours to choral singing.

Example 117.

Andante Doloroso \u003d 50

The first section is a small three-inclusive form, three of the sorrowful theme of the death of LAM. First period B. s. Minor, the second on Quinta above - in fa resid Minor, the third - reprint - again in s. Minor, but octaves above the first. In each new conduct, only the tonality changes, the dynamics (louder) and the density of chords (more denser and more powerful), nothing else; The topic itself remains the same.

Here's what the first two tact of each of the three periods look in the scores (the melody sounds the octava higher than in the piano version):

Example 118.

[Double bass sound the octave below the recording. Designation divisi. means separation of a batch into two voices. In the third conduct of cello are divided into three voices ( divisi in 3.)]

More in the "Morning" play, you could see that Grieg with great expressiveness uses bold, unexpected harmonic paints. As a child, he loved to sit for piano and select unusual colorful chords, and those that he especially liked, he immediately recorded in a special notebook. In the first section of the "death of LAM", harmony emphasizes the sharpness of the experiences. After all, despite all its indifference to people, the lady loved mother. Pay attention to the change in one chord at the beginning of the second sentence. In this sharp, a tense chord breaks through all the pain of loss, hidden behind the external restraint of music.

Example 119.

Very expressive harmony and in the second section - a fairy tale of the pen. Unusual antelated chords in combination with a high register create a magical and gentle musical image. The rhythmic pattern is the same as in the first section. But in combination with new means of expressiveness, it acquires the character of a lullaby, not a mourning march.

In the first section, everything rose: the intonation of the initial phrases was ascending, Tonic shifted up in each period. This created a sense of tension of all feelings. In the second section, on the contrary, all intonations are moving down. The first sentence is a downward sequence of two large links. The second sentence exactly repeats the first octave below. This music soothes.

Example 120.

The second section consists of one period with a small code, in which a quiet reminder of the tragedy is heard.

Aitry dance

Traveling through the African desert, Per Gunt gets to the leader of the Arabic nomads - Bedouins. The daughter of the leader, antena, takes the pen for the prophet. In this dance she wants to charm the feather with her beauty.

As well as in the Death of Lake, Grieg uses here only a string group. But the same tools sound here quite differently. It seems that we hear a large-membered orchestra with exotic oriental instruments. And in fact the orchestra is very small. In the score there is even a note that you can not use the entire string group, but only 9 solts: 2 first violins, 2 seconds, 2 viola, 2 cello and 1 double bass. The illusion of a plurality of tools occurs because the Grieg applies different sound recovery techniques. Here and the puffy legato., and scammer staccato., I. pizzicato. - That is, the game is not a bow, but a plug. One shock-triangle has been added to string tools. This is a steel knitting needle bent into a triangle, according to which the steel stick is hidden. It turns out a very high linking sound. When the triangle comes, it seems that the decorations of the dancing anitra are ringing.

To create an image of an elegant dicarka, the Grieg uses unusual melody turns with chromatic sounds deviating from the major-minor foot system.

The form (simple three-part) is built on unexpected bizarre contrasts. Two sentences of the first period are completely different and on melodies, both in fact, and by rhythm. The first sentence is written in the character of the Waltz or Mazurka, the graceful melody of the first violins is supported by dry chords of the other tools playing Pizzicato. The second offer is the "jumping" staccato in some "barbaric" chromatic Lada in the first violins and cello playing octave. The play begins with a small entry.

Example 121.

TEMPO DI MAZURKA \u003d 160

The middle section consists of a "scraps" by replacing each other. Here are four tact of a new topic - tender and languid, oriental character. And immediately following this - angular jumping motives, similar to the second proposal of the initial period. They are given in canonical imitation, where Pizzicato alternates with Arco (play with a bow).

Example 122.

Then it flashes several times and the first phrase of the first partition disappears, each time in different tones. It crushes, as in Kaleidoscope, to even smaller "pieces", which suddenly float in the roll-up of different tools.

Example 123.

From this kaleidoscope of motifs imperceptibly grows reprise. Reprise varied, it continues the game of imitation and pegs.

Aitra dance - musical portrait. Music shows not only the wild oriental beauty and elegance of anitra, but also its character - a fun, playful and non-permanent.

In the cave of the mountain king

This is the same king of trolls, the Great Grandfather, who inspired Peru his life rules and thus finally spoiled his life. When the pen falls into the kingdom of trolls, they surround it and involve in a wild dance, from which the permisses consciousness. In the music illustration of the Grieg, it is this dance of trolls.

The play is written in the form of variations on a constant melody, you know this form as "Russians", or "Glinkinsky", variations. The topic itself has a three-part structure: Ab. With each new topics, the pace is accelerated, the register rises, the dynamics increase. The topic passes three times, and the play is ends with a small code.

Per Gunt In Cave
Truzh grandfather

In this part of the suite, the entire orchestra was used: all wooden winds with flute piccolo, all copper with trombones and tube, litwords, plates, large drum and string.

A quiet mysterious sound is distributed in silence. He immediately alarming. It is played in octave two stroke horn. When the horn during execution shoves the free palm in the socket, the sound turns out a quiet and strange, as if from afar. This is called "to stall the sound" and is denoted by a cross over a note.

Quietly, barely heard in first holding Clear rhythmic theme of cello and double bass pizzicato.. Octaves, accompanying theme, octaves are accepted. The latter sound pick up and pull the mysterious burst horn. In the second sentence, the babes and low strings are changing in places: now the topic is led by the fagot.

Example 124.

ALLA MARCIA E MOLTO MARCATO \u003d 138

The average section of the topic is an almost accurate sequence of the topic, quinte above, but with a slightly different lade tint. Such a reception was in the "death of oz", although the image is completely different. The orchestration of the middle section is the same as at the beginning. The reprise of the topic exactly repeats the first period.

Such a single method of receptions creates a special, "pelvic" impact. Spell monotony. Three periods in the subject, three topics. It turns out that this spell is repeated nine times. But the manner, with which it is pronounced, will gradually change.

Second time The topic is also in pairs of strings and wooden winds. Only instead of cello and double bass play the first and second violins, and instead of two scenes - oboe and clarinet. The topic sounds now on average register. All four French horn supports it with sharp, prickly chords, and the alto appear short "thrill" pegs. In the reprise of the second holding in this "howling" is included and violins.

Already from the middle of the second conduct, gradual acceleration begins and strengthening the dynamics.

Orchestration is so enriched and complicated that all its subtleties cannot be transferred to the piano. Therefore, the texture of the piano version is significantly different from the texture of the orchestral original.

IN third holding Plates are deafening. Music is even faster, the volume comes to fF. . Example 125 shows how the orchestral texture of the third topics is distributed "on the floors". Piercingly sounds "thickened" in two octaves theme for all violins and alto, which lead it to her stroke tremolo. . Basa cello and double bass seems to be poured into an ominous dance. Rummit tremolo. Litavr. Chords of copper winds "beat up" quarters, they are enhanced by plates with a large drum. And the wooden winds accompany this sabbar howling cries.

Example 125.

In the middle section of this holding, a deafening whistle flute-piccolo will be added, and the horn with pipes will be mad to pick up the phrases of the themes that goes from stringed.

In the code, separate phrases of themes are interspersed with "robbing pits" of the entire orchestra.

Song Solweig

The second suite also consists of four parts: "Ingrid complaint", Arabian dance, "Return of Gunta's pen" and Solveig's song.

Solveig sounds like an orchestral song, although in the performance it also exists like a song, with words. This music repeatedly passes in the performance in different versions. The image of the faithful, loving Solveig was especially the roads of Migra in the Drama ibsen. The topic of her song becomes leitmotif Music to the spectral.

The Silweig song is fulfilled by the Solweig song: 2 flutes, 2 clarinets, 2 horn, harp and string band. The melody of the song is charged with the first violins. The harp has not yet appeared in any part of both suits. Here it has a special role. All nations have twisted string tools that accompaniate singing. It can be a guitar, husline, mandolin. There are such tools and Norwegians: krogar, langleik. Migra is important to show that it is not just instrumental music, but a song. And the harp accompanies her, imitating the folk pinch tool.

Perhaps this is probably the only one of my songs, where you can find direct imitation of the folk melody, - wrote Grieg about Solveig song.

First, the entry sounds - two melodic phrases in the Norwegian folk spirit. The last motive, as an echo in the mountains, is repeated three times in different octaves. Introduction Looks like a naigrysh, but it is not entrusted with the brass, but string tools. Singing, the vibrating sound of the bow enhances the shade of sadness. The same phrases sound and at the very end - the whole song Solveig is enclosed in them as in the frame.

Conclusion

"Per Gunt" - the greatest creation of two Norwegian masters - G. Ibsen and E. Griga. Not only the topic laid down by the playwright (tragedy of the personality, the right to freedom, the choice of its own way), but also the stunning music of the composer made this product of the immortal.

There are repeated adaptation and theatrical productions over the past one and a half centuries about his role in the world cultural heritage. Music to the drama of Gibsen was one of the most significant creative good luck of the composer. It entered the scope of the applied genre and gained an independent life.

The work of E.Grieng listened and teach in general education and music schools from the first classes. This work is popular and today. The number of treatments reaches several tens, including dance versions, rock processing. But, I think the task of the music school is to instill a love for the work in its original version, to communicate with music, remember the musical work, where students would not meet with him - at a concert, lessons on the musical instrument, when sounding on the radio, on television, In all its later life.

The goal and the tasks set in the formation of the lesson, solved through various types of students' activity. Training methods proposed tasks cause children constantly throughout the lesson being in finding answers to the questions. And the result of this lesson should be another step in the education of active music lovers who open up for themselves the wealth of not only modern, but also the music of past centuries, expanding the horizons of students.

The poem's action covers the time from the beginning to the 60s. XIX century And it happens in Norway (in the Gudbranny Valley and the surrounding mountains), on the Moroccan coast of the Mediterranean Sea, in the Sahara desert, in the crazy house in Cairo, the sea and again in Norway, at the Hero's homeland.

Young rustic guy Per Gunt fools, deceiving mother ax. He tells her story about the hunt for a hunting deer. The wounded deer is being built with a sedentary pen on top of the ridge, and then jumps from a height into crystal clear, like a mirror, a lake, rushing to his own reflection. Having dried, the wasp listens. It is not immediately unwritten: she knows this story - the lane only slightly reincarnated the old legend, having experienced him. The torn clothes of the son is explained by others - he came up with Kuznets Aslak. The pera of the surrounding guys often: he loves to dream, and in dreams he sees himself a hero of fairy tales or legends - the prince or king, the surrounding people consider his history with empty boasting and nonsense. In general, the lane is too arrogant! Still, after all, he is the son of the captain, even if the well-spoken, who gone to the state and throwing a family. And one more thing - the first girls like. On this occasion, the mother complains: what would he not marry ingrid, the daughter of a rich farmer? Then they would have both earth, and the estate! But Ingrid looked at the pen. Sorry! Just in the evening she play her wedding, Ingrid marries Mas Mona.

For Masa Mona? Mattress and downtime? It is not! Per goes to the wedding! Trying to dissuade the Son, the wasp threatening - she will go with her son and will weaken it before everyone! Ah well! Per, laughing and playing, puts a mother on the roof of someone else's house: let him sit here, as long as she will not be removed, and he is still coming to the holiday.

At the wedding of the uninvited guest meeting in the bayonets. The girls do not go dancing with him. Per immediately distinguishes among them Solweig, daughter of the peasant sector from immigrants. She is so beautiful, clean and modest, that even him, a dick guy, is afraid to approach her. Per invites Solweig several times, but whenever receives a refusal. In the end, the girl confesses to him: she is ashamed to go with the jetty. In addition, she does not want to upset their parents: there are strict rules for their religion for anyone no exceptions. Per is saddened. Taking advantage of the moment, the guys offer him a drink to laugh at him later. The pen is also angry and disbands the inability of the bride, which does not know how to handle the bride ... Suddenly, even for himself, she grabs the bride to the mouse and, "like a pig", according to the expression of one of the guests, takes it into the mountains.

Passionate impulse of the feather of the feather, he almost immediately lets ingrid on all four sides: she is far from Solveig! Enjoyed ingrid leaves, and the feather arrange a cloud. He hides in the depths of the forest, where he is brought by three shepherds, rejecting his love-trolls for his love. Here, the next morning meets a woman in a green raincoat, the daughter of the Tough King - the ruler inhabiting in the forest is not fatty - trolls, kobolds, debt and witches. Per wants a woman, but even more he wants to be a real prince - even if the forest! Conditions of the Great Grandfather (so call the forest court king) puts hard: the trolls profess "solar" principles, they do not recognize the free departure outside the forest and are content with domestic food, clothing, customs. Princess will marry a pen, but before he should wear a tail and drink local honey (liquid litter). Choking, the pen agrees and on the other. All in the Palace of the Dovsky grandfather looks scasal and ugly, but this is how the Tough grandfather explains, only a defect of a human look at life. If, making an operation, sneak out eyes, he will also see instead of white black and instead of the ugly beautiful, that is, will acquire the worldview of the true troll. But the transaction is almost everything ready for the operation and glory, it is not going - he was and remains a man! Trolls fell on him, but, having heard the sounds of the church bell, let go.

Per - fainted between life and death. The invisible curve envelops it by ways and creates for massacles of the winged demons. The lane stumbles and falls, but again heard church singing and ringing bells. With a cry: "Death to me, Baba has his back!" - The curve releases the pen.

He is found in the forest Mother and Solveig. The axes reports to his son: For the abduction of Ingrid, he is now declared outside the law and can only live in the forest. Per builds myself a hut. Snow fell and the house was almost ready when Solveig resorts to him on skis: she left strict, but her parents' beloved, deciding to stay with him forever.

The lane does not believe his happiness. He comes out of the hut behind a rhin-avenue and suddenly meets a strongly actual woman in green in the woods, whom she represents Peru as his son - he, by the way, meets the father is not too friendly ("I will confuse the ax!"). Trollica demands from the pen to drive Solveig! Or maybe they will heal in his threesome house? Per in despair, its hard sense of guilt. He fears to blot Solweig with his past and does not want to deceive it. So he should refuse it from her! Finding goodbye, he leaves the hut alleged for a minute, but in reality forever.

Peru does not remain anyone, how to escape from the country, but he does not forget about the mother and visits it. The axis is sick, her neighbor helps her; Non-accomplishing property in the house is described by bailiff. In the misfortune of the mother, of course, the son is to blame, but the wasp justifies him, she believes that he in itself is not bad, his wine thickened. The old woman feels, it remains to live for a short time - the legs are shy, scratches the door cat (bad sign!). Per sit on the bed and, comforting mother, tells her a fairy tale. They both are invited to the Magic Castle of Suria Muri. The raven is already harnessed, they ride on the snow field, in the forest. Here is the gate! They are welcomed by St. Peter himself, and the wasp, as an important lady, make coffee with cake. Gate behind, they are at the castle. The pen praises his mother for her fun temper, for patience and care, he did not appreciate them before, so let the owner of the magic castle rose for her kindness! I looked at the ax, the lane sees that she died. Without waiting for the funeral (by law outside the forest, everyone can kill him), he leaves "for the sea, the further, the better."

It takes many years. Peru Guntu under fifty. Well-groomed and succeeding, he takes on the Mediterranean coast of Morocco guests. Near the sea is its yacht under the American flag. Guests of the pen: a businesswitted Master Cotton, a deeply meaningful eberkopf background, the Beauumadian Monsieu Balon and a Little Slow, but the Armor Trupeterestrol (Swede) is extolled by the owner for hospitality and generosity. As a person managed to make such a brilliant career from the people! In cautious expressions, seeking not to hurt the liberal progressive guests of the guests, Per Gunt says to them the truth: he speculated in China with church antiques and engaged in the slave trade in the southern states in America. Now he is heading to Greece on the yacht and can offer his friends. Fine! They will gladly help the rebels in their struggle for freedom! Here, here, confirms Gunt, he wants them to inflate the rebellion flame as much as possible. The greater will be the demand for weapons. He will sell him Turkey, and profit they will be divided together. Guests are confused. They are ashamed and at the same time sorry for the missed profit. Von Eberkopf finds a way out - guests will take away from Günt Yacht and float on it. Cursing failed companion, the lane threatens them after - and a miracle! - Yacht's cheap weapon explodes! God keeps Günt for further accomplishments.

Morning. Gunt hides from the predatory animals on the palm, but also here comes to society ... Monkeys. Instantly oriented, the Per adapts to the laws of the pack. The adventure ends safely. Jumping from the tree, the hero is wandering over the desert, exercising in the imagination, the magnificent project of the Sugara irrigation. Per Gunt will turn the desert into the perfect country - Guntian, he will share the Norwegians in it and will encourage their classes with sciences and arts, which will flourish in such a fertile climate. The only thing he is missing now ... is a horse. Surprisingly, the Gunt will immediately receive it. Horse and precious clothes were hidden behind Barhan Thieves, whom wandering their guardians.

To do in oriental clothes, Gunt goes further, and in one of the oases of Arabs accept him for an important person - as Gunt believes, for the prophet. The newly connected prophet is not interested in the charms of the local Guria - Aitra, but she is deceiving him - she needs not a soul (which she asked for a prophet), but Günt's jewelry. The role of the Prophet also failed.

The next stop of the pen in Egypt. Considering the Sphinx and the Statue of Memnon, Per Imagine himself a famous historian and an archaeologist. Mentally, he builds a grandiose travel plans and discoveries, but ... the face of the sphinx him reminds him? Who? Isn't aware of Deda? Or mysterious curve?

The lane shares his guesses with some Begdimfeld, and he, very interested in the interlocutor, promises to acquaint him with his Cairo friends. In the house with born windows, Begriffenefeld under scary secret reports: Literally an hour ago, an absolute mind was pressed - they are in a crazy house. Begriffenefeld, director of him, introduces a pen with sick: a guitle - a champion of reviving an ancient language of Indian monkeys, Fellah, who considers himself a sacred bull of the ancient Egyptians apisom, and Hussein, imaginable himself, who needs to immediately clean what he does himself, cut his throat A peer knife. All this fantastic scene was well understood by the contemporaries of Ibsen, in it on the "Egyptian" material are encrypted attacks against national Norwegian romanticism: a guitle, as they suggest, this is an uvien, the creator of Lansmol, an artificial language composed of peasant dialects (by the way, he reads on it now And he writes almost half of the population of the country), Fellah is Norwegian Bond (that is, the peasant), the "sacred cow" and the ideal of Norwegian romantics, Gusseyn - Minister of Foreign Affairs Manderstrom, who betrayed during the Danish-Prussian military conflict in 1864, the ideals of scandinavism: He replaced the specific actions of Sweden and Norway in defense of Denmark by the Scripture of countless protest notes, for which it was nusted by Ibsen in the newspaper article "The capable pen". Oshhalev from the atmosphere of madness and committed suicide in his eyes, the lane falls into fainting, and the insane director of the yellow house sits on him with riding and crowned his head with a straw wreath of Fool.

It takes many years. Absolutely gray lane gynt returns to his homeland. His ship is sinking off the coast of Norway, but Günta, who cares for the boat chosen in the sea, manage to escape. On board the vessel, the pen was pursued by an unknown passenger, in vain the body that he had his body "for the purposes of science" - after all, the lane, in his opinion, will definitely die soon. And the same passenger appears in the sea again and clings for a turned the boat; On a direct question, not the devil whether he, the passenger answers evasively and a casual question to the question, in turn, by refining the pen as a person, not too persistent spirit.

Per safe traveled to the native locality. He accidentally falls on the cemetery, where he listens to the laudation word of the priest over the coffin of one postlane - a man who grabbed his finger during the war during the war (Per in his youth became a random witness to this scene). This man with all his life and, mainly, his farewell swelling his farewell and deserved respect for society. In the words of the priest, Peru heard a reproach - after all, he did not create a family or at home. In his former village at the funeral, Ingrid Per meets many of the long-standing familiar familiar. Yes, and he himself remains unrecognized, although people about him remember - the local policeman, for example, remembering about the re-call, calls him a poet who believed in the fabulous reality invesumed. But the pen immediately recognizes the butcher in the forest, he has long been looking for him. The time of Gunta on Earth ended, and the butcher intends right there at the place to pass his soul into a button - after all, he will not fall into heaven, nor in hell, the pen will not fall, it is only on melting. Round the pen Pugovnik does not consider, but he also was not a good man either? The most important thing is, Per Gunt did not fulfill his destination on Earth - he did not become himself (a unique and unique person), he just tried to be different averaged-standard roles. However, the pen knows about it himself, unless he himself compared himself with a bulb. The bulb also does not have a solid core and consists of some skins. Per was and remained rolling-field.

Per Gunta is not frightened. What could be worse than the smelting of the soul - turning it into absolutely amorphous faceless seriousness? He asks a deferment from the butcher, he will prove to him that in his nature there was something whole! Butterparty lets the pen. But meeting him with the loss of the former power of the realistic grandfather and with the bony (the devil?) Do not give anything definite, but Now it is necessary exactly this - defined! Walking through the forest, the pen goes to the hut once built by him. On the threshold, Solveig meets, aged, but happy from what he saw him again. Only now Per Gunt understands that he is saved. Even under the most diverse masks, he remained himself for all his panstroy life - in the hope of faith and love waiting for his woman.

Butterparty lets the pen with a warning, which will wait for it at the next crossroads. They will still talk among themselves.
