Mtyuz auditorium. Tickets to the music theater

The oldest building in Moscow and the first theater - of course, this is the Youth Theater. It can accommodate up to 603 people, so the theater performances can be seen by a large number of spectators. The height of the auditorium is 13.5 m, which additionally creates a feeling of immense space for a small spectator.

Although the repertoire is limited, its poster is replete with bright names and premieres. The main task of the actors is for the child to believe in what he sees on the stage, to get closer to reality, to learn some of the difficult moments of life.

Among the performances in the posters one can see "Peter Pan", "The Wolf and the Seven Kids", "The Happy Prince", "The Lady with the Dog", "The Thunderstorm" and other famous works of both domestic and foreign writers.

An amazingly talented troupe has been created in the theater, among the actors of which are such celebrities as I. Yasulovich, Y. Svezhakova, S. Shakurov, V. Verberg and many others. Many of them have won many awards, including international ones. The troupe also employs young artists who, from a modern point of view, try to convey something to the viewer.

Now the theater is directed by two directors - G. Yanovskaya and K. Ginkas - two amazingly talented people who never run out of new and fresh ideas. On their account there are many prizes and awards, including international ones. Is this not yet another proof of the highest level of professionalism of the Youth Theater, the people working in it, putting their whole soul into it? In recent years, the Theater for Young Spectators began touring Russia and has already visited many parts of our country. For more than 90 years, the Moscow Theater of the Young Spectator has existed and pleases guests with its performances. It was opened on the personal initiative of A.V. Lunacharsky. Of course, there were different periods in its history, but one thing remained unchanged - the best performances for children and youth were staged on its stage. In different years, famous directors were at the head of the troupe, so in the 60s-70s the collective was headed by Pavel Osipovich Chomsky.

A new chapter in the life of the Theater for Young Spectators began in the mid-80s with the arrival of Henrietta Naumovna Yanovskaya. Her debut with the play "Heart of a Dog" by Bulgakov immediately attracted attention. The trend of success continued in all of her subsequent works. Today the performances of the famous troupe, this “theater of two directors”, are recognized, in demand and very popular. Henrietta Yanovskaya and Kama Ginkas are masters of the modern stage who presented their wonderful works to the audience. Their plays are successfully performed on the stage of the MTYUZ, delighting the audience during their numerous tours in Russia and abroad.

The theater's performances have been awarded prizes at prestigious festivals for directing, acting, and scenography. "Golden Mask", "Crystal Turandot", K.S. Stanislavsky, the "Seagull" prize and other high awards were awarded to the productions of the MTYUZ. There is just a wonderful cast here: Igor Yasulovich, Valery Barinov, Sergey Shakurov, Igor Balalaev - you can name many well-known names of modern theater. Invited stars also participate in the plays: Sergei Makovetsky, Oksana Mysina, Era Ziganshina, Elizaveta Boyarskaya. On this stage, charity performances, traditional programs on Children's Day and other holidays are often held. The audience at the theater is very wide; many spectators do not miss a single premiere of the famous troupe.

My acquaintance with MTYUZ

My acquaintance with the MTYUZ happened together with the play "Lady Macbeth of Our District" based on the story of Nikolai Leskov. It's even good that my wishes come true not immediately, but in due time !!! I can't say that I would advise everyone to watch this performance - no ... After watching it, I don't want to rush to read and reread Leskov. The actors give their best in two hours. The scenery is wonderful, it is interesting to look at and observe the interaction of the characters with objects, and the tilted scene creates a special perception of anxiety. A very peculiar vision of Kama Ginkas. The director staged the play in such a way that one can immediately see absolute love, which knows no boundaries, prohibitions, leading to trouble and the collapse of all hopes. The absence of intermission does not allow to dampen emotions, but at the same time creates a feeling of being drawn out. It was scary at times! Ekaterina Lvovna got rid of her father-in-law, husband, little nephew, made her beloved partner in crime and abandoned her own child in the prison hospital ... There is no more terrible woman in love with the beast! Bravo to the director, because he managed to put the repulsive plot in such a way that he wanted to watch it to the end, despite knowing the ending of the story.
P.S. Valery Barinov is my separate love! Beautiful! For his sake, as soon as possible, I will continue to study the repertoire of the MTYUZ.

A beautiful and funny re-enactment of a classic English detective story (about the play "Witness for the Prosecution"

I, an Englishman (translator and English teacher) and a great admirer of the works of Agatha Christie, was very happy to see the play "Witness for the Prosecution."

A purely English story with a not very happy ending, in the genre of a detective story with elements of tragicomedy, staged by Henrietta Yanovskaya at the MTYuZ was simply tremendous pleasure.

For some reason I don’t remember this thing, although I thought I knew the work of Agatha Christie well - I don’t miss films, TV series and have a solid collection of books by her pen.

That, however, was even more interesting, since I did not know who the killer was and how it would end.

It is easy to get into the meaning of what is happening on the stage was helped by the wonderful play of the theater actors.

Of course, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Igor Yasulovich (in the role of Sir Wilfried Robarts) was greeted with an ovation, who, despite his considerable age, gave himself up on stage 100%, danced, smoked, amused.

Literally a week before going to the theater, I watched a program on the Kultura channel about the course of Igor Yasulovich, where they showed an excerpt from this performance, and also showed Konstantin Yelchaninov, the leading actor Leonard Vole.

Olga Demidova (in the role of the fatal beauty Romaine) was very impressed by the eccentricity of her performance, her plasticity, and her feline manner of speech.

Also paired with Yasulovich was imposing Alexander Taranzhin (in the role of Mayhew) - they seemed to be Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson unraveling the case.

I also liked the actors in small roles, namely Natalya Moteva as Greta (very organic, pleasant and characteristic), Nadezhda Podyapolskaya as Janet Mackenzie (funny and eccentric), cocky Maxim Vinogradov as Police Inspector Hearn. Probably, the funniest moments of the performance are connected with these roles.

A purely English crime is committed in a purely English atmosphere, which I love in the domestic productions of Agatha Christie no less (if not more) than in the British ones. Almost 100 umbrellas on the stage, rain, a red telephone booth, a guardsman in a bear hat, strict suits, furniture, dusk and lamp light - everything is emphasized English (stage space of the famous Sergei Barkhin, costumes - Tatyana Barkhina).

At first I came up with a comparison with the scenography in the play "Notes of the Pickwick Club", which I once watched at Chekhov's Moscow Art Theater, but here there is only an external resemblance, "Witness for the Prosecution" in the Theater for Young Spectators is more positive and light, despite the tragedy.

The music at the end of the second act reminded me of that in the old Soviet film "The Mousetrap" with Nikita Vysotsky based on Agatha Christie, which I also love. I also came up with a small comparison with the French detective Alla Surikova "Look for a woman."

All the associations inspired even more created an atmosphere of mystery, joy and excitement, when, in parallel with the heroes, you unravel a detective story in your head.

For me, an English detective story is not boring, because until the last suspense, the denouement is always interesting, and from childhood watching detective stories (for example, the old English television movie about Miss Marple with Joan Hickson) evokes a feeling of celebration.

I was glad to visit the MTYUZ, and although it is small, but in the very center (metro Tverskaya), cozy (and what a 5-meter chandelier in the auditorium), see portraits of actors, plunge into theatrical life.

It is impossible to refuse an invitation to the play "Witness for the Prosecution". Agatha Christie ... my love ...
And "Witness for the Prosecution" is one of my favorite works. I even once reviewed the films based on this story by Agatha Christie.
So the plot is known. But still ... Agatha Christie is never too much.

On October 14, I went to the Moscow Theater for the Young Spectator to watch The Prosecution Witness directed by Henrietta Yanovskaya.

And that was great!
The creators of the play did their best. It was as if they sent us to England. A unique English atmosphere has been created on the stage and "subtle" English humor sounds from the stage.

Of course, this is all a bit formulaic. But it is so recognizable. English fog, unique red telephone booths, a guardsman in a fur hat ... After all, this is exactly how England seems to many.

And a lot of umbrellas. But what about without them? The whole stage is covered with umbrellas, umbrellas in the hands of the characters, and even umbrellas were used in the production of dances.
It should be noted that there are many dances in the performance. They are like an integral part of the plot - they complement and reveal it and the characters of the heroes.

And, of course, music. Old songs, probably popular at the time, create an additional atmosphere.

There is no point in talking a lot about the plot of The Witness for the Prosecution. He is famous, and in this production the creators moved away from the traditional only a little, adding English flavor.
But briefly, something like this: "A young man is accused of murdering an elderly lady. Only a reliable witness can save him from the gallows, who will provide him with an alibi. There is only one such - the young man's wife. But there is no faith in the words of his wife. absolutely incredible events are taking place. "

An excellent cast is involved in the play.
Igor Yasulovich as Sir Wilfrid Robats, the lawyer, is great!

A real English gentleman! How much nobility, intelligence and ... humor in it. And what kind of dances he arranges on stage. And this is despite the age.

In the role of the wife of the accused Romaine - Olga Demidova.

As conceived by the directors of the play, she acted as a kind of refined lady, a vamp woman, ready to seduce everyone. Undoubtedly, when creating her image, Marlene Dietrich was taken as a standard, who performed the same role in the 1957 film.
But, alas ... She did not succeed in surpassing the great Marlene.

But in the play I really liked the young actresses Natalya Zlatova and Natalya Moteva, who played the roles of secretaries. Charming actresses! Their names are worth remembering.

The performance is excellent! I recommend everyone to watch this production if possible.
Although here it should be warned. The creators of the play took some liberty - the heroes on the stage smoke. For real. Therefore, opponents of this case, be prepared for the smoke spreading along the first rows of the stalls.

Unpleasant theater

A tiny, shabby room, where you have to go by the service entrance. Replaying actors. No stage - instead, there is a metal structure of chairs on the floor. The theater has not been renovated for a long time, it is dusty, dirty and unkempt. Cloakroom attendants and ushers are just animals, they rush at people like Soviet saleswomen. Costumes for actors and sets are cheap.
Once I went, I will not go any more.

Small form and big emotions

"The Lady with the Dog" based on the work of the same name by A.P. Chekhov was from the very beginning an unusual and amazing production for spectators accustomed to the traditional hall and stage. After the call, everyone from the foyer was invited to go upstairs, where the mezzanine of the theater is located. Below, in the stalls, there was a darkness filled with sounds, and in the depths of space, where the stage should be, boats bobbed on the water. Seagulls screamed, waves splashed, the sea wind rustled. A stage was set up right in front of the rows, which played the role of a beach, a street, an apartment and everything that accompanied the heroes of the play. The heroes themselves were also amazing - "spa gentlemen" in funny striped swimsuits that performed the most unexpected roles. They were both vacationers in a seaside town and workers - they installed a dreary gray fence in front of Anna Sergeevna's windows, and even played the role of rain and the townspeople soaked by it. And they also created an atmosphere of fun, carefree relaxation, "swam" outside the observable space of the beach in invisible waves, and sometimes rushed into the "sea" with a running start. All this was accompanied by jokes and jokes befitting the situation. In general, as best they could, they defused the atmosphere of suffering and sadness, in which the main characters, Gurov and Anna Sergeevna, found themselves from the very first moments. They each suffered in their own way, Gurov immediately upon arrival home was worried that he could not forget his resort affair. He would have to be distracted by everyday affairs, caring for children and his wife. But Anna Sergeevna did not let him go and appeared to him in a dream. She began to suffer from the very first date, but if it were not for Maria Lugovaya, everything would be boring and sad. The actress filled her heroine with inexhaustible youthful energy, she was not a "lady", but rather a schoolgirl in love. Actually, it was so. Anna Sergeevna recently finished her studies and hastily married an unloved person. Out of an interest that had nothing to do with love and passion. Here, with Gurov, she learned forbidden things, attraction and love for a married man. The secret dates were accompanied by loud sobs, as violent as her feelings. But you treat this cry of a child who knows that he has nailed well with a smile. Chekhov's text is read from a third person, immediately read is played up by the main characters and "spa gentlemen", the latter with humor and some clown farce. Something exciting and intimate happened in silence, right before our eyes, such a love that takes your breath away. The intimacy scene was one of the most powerful, although no nude bodies or passionate hugs were shown. The white canopy played the role of a blanket, snow drifts, and a sandy shore. Their love was watered with sea water and sprinkled with delicate, fine sand. The holiday romance grew into an irresistible passion that did not allow living in separation. This love was disinterested, money was not mentioned there at all. Only in the scene with the bank employees, which were performed by the same "spa gentlemen", throwing black tailcoats right over the striped swimsuits. There, at first, they diligently sorted out, and then threw empty white sheets of paper into the air as a symbol of the fact that money is just pieces of paper and their value is very doubtful. Gurov is beautifully played by actor Igor Gordin. All stages of his transformation from an ordinary adventurer on the side, into a man doomed to a secret life, with which he could not break, are shown. For Chekhov it was, as it were, a sad, even tragic work. After all, they violated moral rules and should be condemned and punished by fate for their love. However, you are imbued with sympathy and feelings for these two, who were accidentally thrown into each other's arms by life and do not want to break these embraces. In general, when the actors came to bows, it was unexpected, so "did not let go" of the action until the last moment. And then a dog appeared in the lady's arms, which caused complete affection among the public and mimic emotions. Yes, it was Chekhov, his text and his heroes, but such understandable and modern, so feeling the audience, so masterly played out a completely ordinary story of a vacation adultery, turning it into a poignant love story. The small form - two hours without intermission - very successfully immerses in the action and does not allow for a moment to be distracted from the heroes and their experiences. As if you are alone with the actors, invisibly present in the city, in nature, on the seashore, where their love was born. We part with the heroes of the play at the moment when they are trying to find a way out of this unbearable situation. I want to believe that everything will be fine with them, that they will overcome difficulties and stay together. Of course, not a happy ending, but there is still hope for a happy ending to the story.

Story

The history of the Youth Theater began in 1920, it was founded on the initiative of A. Lunacharsky. Initially, it was just a theater for children, one of many. He had a small hall for 330 people. On the posters of the Theater for Young Spectators, basically, there were such productions as "Little Beauty", "Bear and Pasha", "Nightingale". Critics were not particularly supportive of the theater, accusing it of excessive aestheticism and excessive naivety.

Since 1924, the theater has become mobile. The troupe played in clubs and squares, in schools and houses of culture. They toured a lot around the country, not only in cities, but also in factory settlements.

And only in 1932 the Youth Theater received the first building on the street. Gorky. Since in those years there was strong censorship, and the emphasis was on the education of patriotism, the repertoire was very limited. But it was on this stage that the first Soviet musical called "My brother plays the clarinet" appeared. And yet the theater remained ordinary and did not stand out from the rest.

Everything changed in 1987 when director Henrietta Yanovskaya came here. She ventured to stage M. Bulgakov's "Heart of a Dog", moreover, she went on tour with her to Europe, Israel and Turkey. The production brought the theater worldwide fame. In addition, it ceased to be childish and finally became, in the words of the director, "a theater for people." Since then, adult performances have constantly appeared on the playbills of the Youth Theater.

Every year, on Children's Day, the administration holds charitable events.

Tickets to the Youth Theater can be bought on our website. Prices for many performances are very democratic, which attracts a large number of people who want to visit them. Therefore, you need to purchase tickets in advance.
