The Central House of Artists is one of the largest and most famous exhibition complexes in Russia. It belongs to the International Confederation of Unions of Artists, and half of its area is occupied by the New Tretyakov Gallery, a branch of the Tretyakov Gallery, which exhibits samples of art created after 1917. The Central House of Artists is surrounded by the Muzeon park, its total area is 9,000 m2, and there are 27 halls inside. History

Initially, in 1956, the USSR Government issued a decree on the construction of two separate buildings - for the Tretyakov Gallery and for the Exhibition Building of the Union of Artists. However, this decision was later revised in favor of one exhibition complex for both galleries. The main architects of the project were N. Sukoyan and Yu. Sheverdyaev, several research institutes were also involved in the work. The project was approved in 1964, and construction began a year later. And the opening of the Central House of Artists took place in 1979.

Every Wednesday, you can visit the permanent exhibition "The Art of the 20th Century" in the New Tretyakov Gallery for free, as well as the temporary exhibitions "The Gift of Oleg Yakhont" and "Konstantin Istomin. Color in the Window”, held in the Engineering Corps.

The right to free access to expositions in the Main Building in Lavrushinsky Lane, the Engineering Building, the New Tretyakov Gallery, the house-museum of V.M. Vasnetsov, museum-apartment of A.M. Vasnetsov is provided on the following days for certain categories of citizens in general order:

First and second Sunday of every month:

    for students of higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation, regardless of the form of education (including foreign citizens-students of Russian universities, graduate students, adjuncts, residents, assistant trainees) upon presentation of a student ID card (does not apply to persons presenting student trainee ID cards) );

On the first and second Sundays of each month, students holding ISIC cards have the right to visit the exhibition “Art of the 20th Century” at the New Tretyakov Gallery free of charge.

Right of free admission The main and temporary expositions of the Gallery, except for cases provided for by a separate order of the Gallery's management, are provided for the following categories of citizens upon presentation of documents confirming the right to free admission:

The Central House of Artists is one of the largest exhibition venues in Russia. Its building was built in 1979 according to the design of Soviet architects Nikolai Sukoyan and Yuri Sheverdyaev. Part of the building is occupied by the Tretyakov Gallery: there is a department that houses part of its permanent exhibition dedicated to Russian art of the 20th century. How to get to the Central House of Artists

The building of the exhibition site is located in the central part of the capital, in the Yakimanka area. By metro, first you need to get to the Oktyabrskaya station, and from the metro go to Bolshaya Yakimanka street. Further along this street you need to reach the intersection with the Garden Ring and turn right. Ahead you will see the embankment, and on the left side - Gorky Park. There you will see a small art park called the Museumon, in the center of which you can find the Central House of the Artist.
