Make from soap at home. How to make soap from remnants? Which ingredients are suitable for different skin types

The simplest form of soap making at home is soap making from baby soap. In addition, for beginners in this business, this is just a godsend. Once you've tried making soap with your own hands, you probably won't want to go back to regular soap. Firstly, it is beneficial to cook soap at home, and secondly, it is useful to use everything natural and healthy for yourself, and thirdly, this is a very exciting and interesting activity.

If you decide to make soap at home, but are afraid, so to speak, to ruin everything, then I think you should try to start taking the first steps using baby soap. Here there is less work and less time, but considerable experience. Do not be afraid to experiment, because it is from your imagination and great desire that an excellent result can be obtained. I will try to give you the most basic meaning of how to make soap at home in as much detail and as clear as possible.

I want to tell you about how to make real soap. It is, of course, better to start with the baby, adding various oils, flavors and dyes to it. Here are some simple steps in the process of making the most basic soap recipes.

First, I choose the ingredients (baby soaps, colors, fragrances and base oils).

Secondly, I make soap shavings and a water bath.

Why do I prefer baby soap? Because there are no chemical additives in it. This soap is intended for the delicate skin of children, as such skin is susceptible to perfumes and alkaline environments. Therefore, you can safely add your ingredients (oils, decoctions, flowers), and you get a soap with the desired aroma, color and shape. Also, baby soap contains moisturizing glycerin, lanolin, vegetable oils, which have a beneficial effect on the skin without irritating it.
When choosing baby soap, I always pay attention to the smell - the less, the better, and it can be interrupted. The composition should also not contain chemical additives, flavors and perfumes, since the desired result in this case cannot be achieved and you can only spoil everything. In addition, the packaging and quality of the soap should not reveal any suspicion. Of course, if in doubt, it is better to choose another option. And finally, learn from mistakes - try and draw the appropriate conclusions.

For me, the main characteristics of a good soap are the following:

Soap is odorless or virtually odorless.

It melts well and easily grinds into chips.

Be aware of safety precautions when handling hot melted soaps and oils, or when making shavings, which can create harmful soap dust.

What additives to choose for making soap at home? You can add whatever you want to your handmade soap, but not all ingredients will be able to maintain their color, smell and shape. Also, when choosing various components, start from what type of your skin is, what it lacks at the moment, what problems you would like to solve with it, etc. Various supplements will help you achieve results. You will find out what our skin needs from the article "Facial care at home" on the site "Sunny Hands" .

Base oil is added to soap to improve its quality and properties. Each oil is unique in composition and gives a variety of properties to the resulting soap: softness, creaminess, foaminess and others. In a special soap store, you can buy jojoba, olives, macadamia oils and use them in your first experiments. You don't need to add these oils if you are still in doubt about your abilities. Flavors and natural colors can be added. Well-known natural additives, such as decoctions, infusions, berry juices, dried petals of flowers, fruits, berries, parsley and dill, and so on, will give color and aroma to everyone. You can even use ready-made liquid or dry dyes, which are sold in the same specialty stores.

Essential oils, which can be purchased at the pharmacy, will also add special properties and flavor to your soap. And over time, when you gain experience, they can be bought at a soap store.

Each oil has a different effect: it relaxes or invigorates, has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect, and much more.
As a scrub, you can use components such as poppy seeds, coffee, clay (blue, white, pink, green), oatmeal (flakes, whole or ground), ground nuts. In this case, the main thing is not to shift the ingredients, since the soap can crumble and wash poorly.

To make soap at home from baby soap, you will need the following dishes and tools:
- fine grater (the finer, the faster the soap shavings will melt);
- sturdy water bath pot (iron and heat resistant);
- a glass or porcelain (heat-resistant) plate with a smaller diameter than a saucepan;
- molds for filling (soft disposable jars, silicone molds for baking);
- plate for melting solid butter;
- knife for cutting prepared soap and spoons.

Once everything is ready, you can start creating your own soap!
So, I rub the pieces of baby soap on a grater;

For a water bath, I pour water into a saucepan on the stove so that a plate with shavings is immersed to the brim in water. Heat must be transferred from the boiling water to the plate. And in order for the chips to melt well, you can add water or even milk to it, which is even better. The latter will give the soap special emollient properties. The melting process will be accelerated by melters such as sugar (plain or vanilla), chocolate or honey. You can add a decoction of herbs, after diluting it with warm milk. Herbal teas are also incredibly beneficial for the skin. Read how to cook them correctly. Moreover, all components must be added when the soap is in a water bath. The melting process takes 15-20 minutes on average.

Make sure that your soap does not boil, otherwise there will be unwanted bubbles in the soap. And as soon as the soap melts, becomes viscous and without lumps, you can safely add base oils (1 tablespoon per 100 grams). Then I remove it from the water bath and add essential oils, dyes and other necessary components. It is better to do this at the end of the procedure, since such substances are volatile. I stir the resulting mass and pour it into molds. You can add different ingredients to the molds by making different soaps at the same time.

After spilling, the resulting soap should cool. To do this, I put it to cool in the refrigerator until a solid consistency is obtained. Then I put it in the air to remove the remaining moisture. The water will dry out the soap, so I cut off the excess with a knife.

Approximately how many ingredients to add to 100 grams of baby soap?

1 tablespoon of base oils

100 grams of any of the above liquids (milk, decoctions, etc.);

6-7 drops of essential oils;

4-5 drops of dye;

50 grams of other additives (honey, coffee, oatmeal, chocolate, sugar, etc.).

Soap recipes at home from baby soap.

Cleansing soap. Thanks to its constituents, the soap has a powerful disinfectant effect.

We need:

Baby soap-100 g

Water-2 glasses

Alcohol camphor-1 tbsp. l.

Ammonia alcohol-1 tbsp. l.

Citric acid - 0.5 tsp

Glycerin-1 tbsp. l.

Hydrogen peroxide - 100 ml.

Cooking like this:

Rub the soap on a fine grater, pour it into a saucepan filled with 2 glasses of water. After 3-4 hours, when the soap becomes slightly sour in the water, place the pan in a water bath and wait for the soap to completely dissolve. As soon as the soap has completely melted, add citric acid, camphor and ammonia. Mix everything thoroughly and remove from heat.

Finally, add hydrogen peroxide in small portions. Add 3-4 drops of tea tree oil if desired. Mix everything well again and pour it into molds. After 2 days, you can safely use soap to cleanse problem skin. This type is prone to acne. How to get rid of acne read on the portal "Sunny Hands » .

Coffee scrub soap

Baby soap-100 g

Water-1 glass

Olive oil-1 tbsp. l

Sea buckthorn oil-1 tbsp. l

Essential oil patchouli-5-6 drops

Ground coffee-3 tsp.

Rub the soap. Melt in a water bath. After removing from heat, add all the oils, stir, add coffee, stir again and pour into molds. Coffee for this soap can be coarsely ground, because the soap is a scrub.

In general, for the manufacture of scrub soap, you can take ingredients such as poppy seeds, large oatmeal, ground grape seeds, ground walnut shells, any cosmetic clay as abrasives.

Soap "Honey and Milk" marble.

The production of this soap differs from the rest not only in its recipe, but also in its extraordinary appearance - it will be marble in our country. First, I will list the ingredients:

Baby soap-100 g

Milk-150 ml

Honey-1 tbsp. l.

Olive oil-1 tbsp. l.

Sea buckthorn oil-1 tbsp. l.

Orange oil - 3-4 drops

Chocolate-3-4 cubes

We rub the soap, put it in a water bath, add milk and honey. Do not forget to interfere. When the mass is completely melted, remove from the heat and divide it into 2 parts exactly in half. Add sea buckthorn and orange oil to one part, and olive oil to the other and grate pieces of chocolate on a fine grater. When the mixture has cooled down a little, we begin to pour it into the molds in this way: the first layer is orange, the second chocolate, orange again, etc. Then gently mix the composition several times in a chaotic or circular motion and set to freeze.

Coconut soap

I just love the scent of coconut, so I make a scented coconut soap from time to time. And the composition of all the ingredients is much smaller and simpler:

Baby soap-100 g

Water-200 ml

Coconut flakes-3 tbsp. l

Coconut or vanilla oil - 3 tbsp l.

We rub the soap, as usual, put it in a water bath, add water. Grind the coconut on a coffee grinder. You can, of course, not grind, then the soap will take on the effect of a scrub. Remove the melted soap from the heat, add coconut shavings, vanilla or coconut oil to it, or you can mix it, but then you will have to add 1.5 tablespoons of each oil. Mix everything thoroughly and pour into molds. If you replace ordinary water in this recipe with milk, then the foam from this soap will turn out to be even softer, and the aroma of coconut will be even more pronounced.

Anti-cellulite soap

Baby soap-100 g

Water-50 ml

Olive oil-2 tbsp. l

Ground coffee-2 tbsp. l.

Large sea salt-2 tbsp. l.

Rub the soap and put it in a water bath. Then add olive oil and gradually pour in hot boiled water. Stir the whole mass continuously. When the soap is completely dissolved, remove it from the heat and add salt and coffee. Mix everything again and lay out on the molds. After 2-3 days, the soap is ready for use. It is very effective to use such soap in the fight against cellulite 2-3 times a week, but it is worth remembering and knowing that it contains sea salt, which can dry the skin, so after taking a shower with such soap, you should thoroughly moisturize the body with nourishing lotion or milk. To make the body even more beautiful will help advice from the author of the portal "Sunny Hands" Olga Sheina that she shares in the article "Face and body care" .

Actually, as you can see, making soap from baby soap is not difficult at all, I would say it couldn't be easier. The cooking sequence is the same, only the composition of the food changes. The main points of cooking are clear, everything else is up to you. The composition and type of soap will depend on which additives you choose. We turn on the imagination and go! Successful soap making!

Best regards, Evgenia Tsvetkova.

The passion for soap making has overwhelmed the needlewomen! A hobby does not require special skills, and success depends only on the presence of imagination and knowledge of small secrets. The hobby has a solid practical basis - soap will always come in handy in the household, and will not lie dead weight on the shelves, like many even the most beautiful crafts. In addition, a piece of self-made soap will be an excellent gift for any occasion - the thematic presentation of the presentation will emphasize its uniqueness.

Materials and accessories

Making soap at home requires a minimum set of not only accessories, but also materials. You will need:

  1. Soap base.
  2. Base oils.
  3. Fragrances and essential oils.
  4. Dyes.
  5. Decorative decorations and useful additives.
  6. Alcohol in a spray bottle.
  7. Forms for filling.
  8. Plastic cups, plastic spoons, wooden sticks, rubber gloves.

Let's take a closer look at each of these components.

The foundation

Available in the form of bars or shavings. The base contains alkali, water, vegetable oils. It can be transparent or matte. In handicraft stores, where you can buy a soap base, there is also a special composition for making soap with swirls - beautiful swirls. This base has a more viscous consistency, which allows the layers of the mixture not to mix with each other, but to intertwine with each other in an original way or even be within clearly defined boundaries.

Instead of buying a special soap base, you can use baby soap. This will be the easiest way to make a new piece of detergent. However, such a product will always be matte. Novice soap makers need to take into account that the special base is better soap, odorless, does not cause irritation, and also hardens and dries faster than baby soap.

Base oils

They are added to soaps to make them moisturizing, nourishing and softening. Such oils do not have a strong odor and are highly fatty. It can be argan, sea buckthorn, olive, almond, coconut, peach, sunflower oil and even squeeze from wheat germ. Usually the base is added in the amount of 1-2 teaspoons per 100 g of the base.

Essential oils

They give the products the desired aroma and special properties. Scented additives can be used to prevent and treat skin diseases, for example, shea and tea or rosewood butter, fir oil to achieve a soothing effect, and orange oil to fortify the skin. The many available essential supplements allow you to create unique compositions not only in terms of smell, but also a healing effect.

Important! Essential oils are added at 1-2 drops per 100 g of soap base - their excess causes allergies and even burns.

Dyes

Not only safe commercial mineral-based formulations are used, but also any home remedies - fruit or vegetable juice, food colors, herbal decoctions. Sometimes the base oil already gives color, for example, fir oil colors the piece in pleasant green shades. Plain cinnamon has a faint aroma and rich brown color. A substance called titanium dioxide, which is completely harmless to health, makes the soap matte. Special pearlescent dyes give a charming shimmer.

Decorative ornaments, useful additives

Decorations include all kinds of sequins, dried fruits, petals, pieces of plants, coffee beans, seeds. Useful additives - milk, cream, coffee grounds, honey, chocolate, ground cereals, loofah - give a moisturizing, nourishing, scrubbing, massage effect.

Molds, alcohol and accessories

Particular attention is paid to the selection of molds for pouring the soap. They allow you to give the pieces an interesting shape. Flowers, animal silhouettes, geometric shapes - everything fits. Of the materials, preference should be given to silicone, rubber, plastic, because it is quite difficult to get finished products from glass or ceramics. You can use not only special forms, but also any you like, for example, for baking or even baby molds for sculpting Easter cakes.

Attention! Do not use metal molds for pouring liquid soap mass due to unforeseen chemical reactions - products may change color or become hazardous to health.

Medical alcohol, poured into a spray bottle, will help get rid of the formation of small bubbles on the finished soap. The liquid is necessarily sprayed onto the mold before pouring and the surface of the piece, which remains outside. If a multi-layer product is being made, then each layer must be sprayed.

Accessories include plastic cups for diluting the base, wooden sticks for stirring it, plastic measuring spoons for the base oil, pipettes for essential oils, toothpicks for scratching out adjacent surfaces when making multi-layer products. It is advisable to work with thin gloves, and if soap shavings are used, it is better to wear a respirator.

A quick way to brew soap for beginners

There are many homemade soap recipes that are suitable for beginners. In this case, all instructions come down to a few simple steps:

Important! If the soap base is melted in the microwave, then you cannot let it boil - this will ruin its properties.

At first, you can use ready-made recommendations for creating compositions to learn how to handle the basics and select combinations of essential oils and additives. Even a little experience in the future will allow you to come up with your own unique products, not only in design, but also in content. The main thing is to use only safe ingredients.

Advanced soap makers make their products from scratch, that is, they use solid oils and an alkali solution. After manufacturing, such products must be aged for 2 months. This is a very long way of making soap, which only experienced craftsmen can do.

So, soap making at home for beginners, simple recipes ...

Now we will consider in practice how to make the soap of your dreams - useful, beautiful and unique. We will move from simple to complex, and photos of finished products will help find inspiration and catch the courage... In all recipes, the ingredients are indicated in teaspoons.

Attention! In every case, remember to use rubbing alcohol to eliminate air bubbles.

1. Honey aroma

For 100 g of melted transparent base, take a spoonful of argan oil and honey. The components are combined and mixed thoroughly. If you add a pinch of pearlescent dye, then the finished piece will acquire an extraordinary overflow.

Useful properties: nourishment and softening of the skin.

2. Honey-olive tenderness

The idea is inspired by Mediterranean motives. For cooking, you need 300 g of any melted base, 3 tablespoons of honey and olive oil, 3 drops of green dye, a spoonful of dried ground basil. All components are added to the base one by one and mixed thoroughly. The mass is poured into a mold designed for 3 pieces.

Useful properties: nutrition, softening, scrubbing.

3. Delicate cleansing

It is necessary to prepare 100 g of a melted base, transparent or matte, into which a spoonful of finely ground sea salt, 2 tablespoons of white clay, 4 drops of rosewood oil are alternately introduced. The mixture is kneaded, poured into a mold.

You can use ground coffee or coffee grounds as a scrub.

Useful properties: cleansing, scrubbing, soothing effect.

4. For irritated skin

A matte base is used - 100 g, 2 tablespoons of pink clay, a spoonful of apricot oil, vanilla flavor - 5 drops.

Useful properties: gentle cleansing, relieving irritation.

5. For problem skin

If your skin is plagued with acne, then you can try a simple recipe with a healing effect. The base is taken transparent - 100 g, half a spoonful of it is added grape seed oil and olive oil, as well as a spoonful of finely chopped seaweed. If desired, you can color with a blue dye, and the smell with sea fragrance, taken 2 drops each.

Useful properties: cleansing, nutrition, disinfection, treatment.

6. Strawberry bliss

It is made from 100 g of an opaque base, 5 tablespoons of heavy cream and half a spoonful of olive oil and an oil made from strawberry seeds. Strawberry and creamy flavors, pink dye are added.

Useful properties: nutrition, hydration.

Attention! If you can only buy a clear soap base, go for titanium dioxide, which adds a matte finish.

7. Coffee and yoghurt pie

This option for making soap is no longer as simple as the previous ones. It involves the creation of a multi-layer structure. The main rule is that each layer must dry well! To "bake" a soap cake, you will need - a transparent base 100 g, 3 tablespoons of ground cinnamon - it will give a dark color and light aroma, titanium dioxide - liquid or dry, cappuccino flavor, purple dye, alcohol.

The manufacturing sequence is as follows:

  1. Melt the base, take a fourth of it, mix with cinnamon until dark, pour into a mold, sprinkle with alcohol.
  2. While the first layer is drying, make a second layer - add titanium dioxide, cappuccino flavor, a drop of purple dye to the base to add shade.
  3. Scratch the hardened first layer with a toothpick so that the second tier sticks to it tightly. Pour the second layer, sprinkle with alcohol.
  4. The third tier is done by analogy with the first, and the fourth - by analogy with the second.

The thickness of each tier is selected arbitrarily.

Useful properties: invigorating effect of coffee.

8. Coniferous tornado

Not the easiest recipe for making soap, because it uses the technique with swirls - beautiful swirls. For such a product, a special base is taken - in stores it is called the "Basis for making soap with swirls". It differs from a conventional base in a thicker consistency, which prevents the interpenetration of liquid layers. Products are made from a pound of base, since it is difficult to get swirls from ingredients taken in small quantities. Then the piece is cut into small pieces.

Let's take a closer look at the manufacturing process:

  • a pound of melted base is poured into two cups equally;
  • in one of the cups, 3 drops of green pigment are preliminarily diluted with 5 ml of water, since it will be difficult to mix the dye with the melted base;
  • in another glass, a matte mass is made with the help of titanium dioxide;
  • a spoonful of fir oil is added to each glass, everything is thoroughly mixed, and the bubbles are removed with alcohol.

The main thing in getting beautiful swirls is the pouring technique.

Take a square silicone mold and pour a puddle of dark green mass into its center. Do not try to pour so much that the liquid immediately spreads over the entire bottom area. Then pour a little matte mass into the center of the green spot, then green again into its center, then matte again and pour both cups in this way until the base is over in them. Sprinkle the surface with alcohol. After the soap dries, cut it into pieces - the amazingly beautiful swirls will not leave anyone indifferent.

Useful properties: sedative effect.

9. Massage soap with citrus scent

The massage effect is achieved with the help of loofah - a dried Asian plant with a porous structure. The well-known washcloths are made from loofah. You can buy it at a craft store.

Here's what you need to make this unusual soap:

  • Take a piece of loofah and soak it in a round cup for 15 minutes so that it takes the same shape;
  • after softening, remove the loofah, wring it out, dry thoroughly with a paper towel - excess water can spoil the properties of the soap;
  • melt 170 g of a transparent base, pour it into two glasses;
  • add 6 drops of grape seed base oil, 7 drops of yellow dye, 3 drops of Orange flavor to the first glass;
  • add flavor and base oil in the same amount to the second glass, and take 6 drops of red and 2 drops of yellow dye - as a result, you get a mass reddish orange colors;
  • wait until the mass in each glass thickens a little, and a light film appears on its surface;
  • put the loofah in the mold and start pouring the soap compositions from two glasses at the same time, but in different corners;
  • use a wooden stick to smooth the border between the flowers, remove the bubbles with alcohol.

Useful properties: massage, scrubbing effect, invigorating effect.

Handmade Soap Templates and Molds

If you decide to seriously engage in soap making and make a profit from the sale, then you will need templates that indicate the composition of the products, the name, etc. Such templates can be downloaded from special portals. In addition to labels, you can also use various shapes. Such containers are made of plastic, rubber or silicone. You cannot use molds made of glass, metal, because it is problematic to get the product out of solid containers, the metal corrodes.

Handmade soap molds

Heat resistant plastic molds are made taking into account the fact that the soap base will be poured hot into them, and the molds, in turn, will not deform. Their great advantage is that there are a lot of such products - there are both small figures and large ones available for making several bars of homemade soap at the same time.

Plastic molds for soap

Silicone forms are also convenient to use. They do not need special care and, moreover, they are soft, which greatly simplifies the "release" of the soap when ready. The service life of such a container is longer than that of plastic ones.

Silicone molds for making soap

IMPORTANT: Before pouring the base, grease the molds with oil, then it will be easier for the soap to come out of the molds. If this does not help, then put the container with soap in the freezer, after a while pull it out by pressing on the mold.

DIY soap flowers

If you are a creative person who like to do crafts with your own hands, then you yourself can mold flowers from soap. Some people have a doubt - is this possible, because the soap base is not plastic? To make the material softer, you need to apply a little trick when preparing the base.

To prepare it you will need:

  • base (soap) or baby soap - 230 grams
  • regular gelatin, which is sold in supermarkets - one large spoon
  • water, or a decoction of herbs - 8-9 large spoons
  • dyes, aromatic oils - optional
  • ordinary knife, knife for peeling potatoes

Soap base roses

Procedure

  1. Pour gelatin with water (cold), leave for 43-56 minutes to swell
  2. Prepare the base - grate it, melt, add a teaspoon of water there
  3. Then pour aromatic oils, dye, etc. into the base, mix the resulting mass with ready-made gelatin
  4. Pour the mixture into round tins.
  5. When solidified, pull out the resulting cylinders
  6. It now remains only to cut the petals for the rose with a vegetable knife and mold the flower, like from plasticine

Flowers can also be made simply in special molds. It is enough to fill the container and after a few minutes after hardening, remove the finished flower from it. Any flight of fantasy is welcome. You can come up with different shades for the flower and leaves.
