How to teach a child to draw. Step by step drawing basics

Many people think that drawing is an artistic "science" that not everyone can control. In fact, the craving for art awakens in a person in early childhood, however, without a certain development of abilities, it weakens over the years.

So is it possible to teach a child to draw, especially if they did not know how to do it? When to start the educational process and with what exactly? Finally, is it necessary to send the kid to an art school or drawing club in the future?

At what age do children start drawing?

Children start to get interested in drawing quite early, following the example of their parents, brothers and sisters, who write something on paper. However, in a general sense, the craving for drawing is manifested in children aged 1 to 1.5 years.

And if at first the child's drawings look more like a malyak, then closer to 5 years (and up to 15 years), an actively developing fantasy helps kids create real masterpieces on paper.

The benefits of drawing for child development

It is almost impossible to evaluate all the positive aspects of drawing in childhood - its influence on kids is so enormous that the development of the child's entire personality falls under the “target”.

In a general sense, drawing:

  • forms in the baby a passionate sense of beauty and a desire to create something beautiful;
  • develops the mind and imagination of the baby and helps to master new "tools" for understanding the world: felt-tip pens, brushes, pencils;
  • the child learns to convey the surrounding objects with his pictures and at the same time is engaged in a useful business.

Where to start?

The first drawing lessons can take place already when the baby learns to hold objects in his hands. At this point, his mother can hand him pencils and help him draw a simple line on the paper.

Let it be not quite even and even "slide" from the album onto the table. It is much more important for the child to understand: his "manipulations" can subsequently turn into something really beautiful!

Pencils or markers?

It is not worth giving pencils to babies without adult supervision, so that they do not accidentally get hurt by them. However, under vigilant supervision, children can draw with felt-tip pens and a brush - especially since the first tests of the "pen" they do with the help of coloring pages.

Who refuses to draw the hero of your favorite book, the finished image of which lies in front of you on paper? It's hard to make a mistake and do something wrong!

Which ones?

Some people find that pencils or fine markers are not very comfortable to use. At least for kids two years old: their lead often breaks, and the rod is pressed inward.

However, only by giving the child the opportunity to choose something of his own from the variety of options, you will help him find his favorite "tool" for drawing.

Paints or crayons?

A two-year-old can draw with almost everything: with finger paints and bold felt-tip pens - on paper, with bright crayons - right on the asphalt or board. It is generally most convenient to draw the latter, since they are soft, and leave clear lines behind.

It will be a little more difficult to master gouache and paints, because they imply under themselves not only the desire to sculpt something, but also a certain technique of creativity.

A miracle of technology!

Recently, stores have begun selling completely amazing things for drawing: a set for creativity with glitter on velvet paper or amazing felt-tip pens that a baby can blow into. And this is truly wonderful!

Drawing lessons for toddlers from 2 to 4 years old

It is necessary to teach to draw a child who is 2-3 years old with mastering the simplest techniques. At the same time, it is very important to be attentive to the baby's needs to create and not to ridicule his diligent pencil scratching on paper.

The condescending attitude of adults towards children's drawings leads to the fact that the child may consider drawing an empty activity and refuse it.

What is required?

Take bright paints, paper (the larger the sheets, the better), good brushes, a soft sponge, and a glass of water. At the same time, it is best to dress in something that is not a pity to get dirty - even a purchased apron for painting will not save you from stains when the young artist is only 3-4 years old!

How much time to devote to classes?

You need to teach a kid to draw for 10-20 minutes 2-3 times a week, so that he does not get bored, but the craving for art is not lost in the end.

Techniques for developing drawing skills

the freedom of action

For this lesson, white glossy paper and watercolors are used. Let the kid dip the brush into the paint can and drip it directly onto the paper! The whimsical patterns with which it spreads will look like magic pictures!

Sponge, but not Bob

For this lesson, use gouache and a large piece of paper. Have the child dip their pen in the paint and squeeze it out a little. Let him leave a “signature” on the sheet with his own hand, and with a sponge, rolled into a roll, make the final artistic “touches” next to it.

Similarly, you can draw on paper with your fingers: dilute the gouache with water so that it turns into "sour cream", and pour it onto a plate. Using a wide brush, apply paint to the kid's fingers and ask them to leave your autograph on the sheet.

Wet style

A thick and large sheet of paper should be wetted under water for a couple of seconds. Now put it on a tray and have your child play with watercolors on it. Considering the condition of the surface, the paint will spread, mix and create amazing "wet" patterns on it.

Scarlet flower

To teach a child to draw something really memorable, you can do this: dip the child's finger in green and, holding his hand, hold the stalk with him on the paper. A handprint will act as a bud, and in the end you will get a wonderful flower!

This technique can be successfully used to depict other objects as well. Try to depict a tree or a cheerful giraffe with it.

Drawing lessons with children over 4 years old

Four years of age is a fertile time for mastering more complex drawing techniques. Already during this period, it is worth sending the baby to an art school, but if for some reason it does not work out, you can teach him to draw by yourself.

It's more fun together

Get ready for the fact that you will have to do this together, since it is from your drawings that he will take the right example. Try to paint brightly, specifically and not be distracted by too small details.

Tell everything

Accompany the drawing process with a fascinating story so that the child understands what you are doing.

Master the shapes

The most important thing is to teach the kid to draw geometric shapes, which will become the basis of the necessary images, regardless of whether it is an animal or a person.

How to draw a tree?

At 4 years old, you need to start with a simple one: with an ordinary green Christmas tree, which is cold in winter.

Below we attach step-by-step instructions for creating an "artistic" tree and a picture - so that the child understands how it works.

  1. Draw a line from top to bottom on the sheet. Draw slightly curved lines from it, which will be the branches of our tree.
  2. Now we will try to "outline" these lines with needles: as shown in the figure. When all the branches are fluffy, paint the tree green.

Similarly, you can depict birch and other types of trees.

Learn to draw animals

Draw a hedgehog

  1. Draw the hedgehog's needles on the paper using a zigzag, and then add the ears to it.
  1. Connect them with an oval to make a head.

  1. Draw the hedgehog's nose, eyes and mouth and give the hedgehog a belly.

  1. Draw legs and arms for it.

  1. It remains to draw the needles as shown in the picture. The hedgehog is ready!

How to draw a donkey

Drawing a donkey on paper is also much easier than you thought.

We perform the following actions step by step:

  1. We draw a simple oval on paper, then divide it with a line into two parts, in the upper of which we draw the eye of a donkey, and in the lower - the nostrils and mouth.
  2. Now we attach the ears of the donkey, drawing two "cucumbers" on the sheet. Just below the head we draw another oval - this will be the donkey's body, which we will connect to the head with two "neck" lines.
  3. Now you need to add legs to the animal, drawing them at the bottom of the body, and a real tail, placing it on the side.

The donkey is ready! It remains to color it the way your fantasy tells you!

How to draw a cat and a dog

You can draw a cat and a dog in the same way. The step-by-step technique for depicting a cat is shown in the following figure:

The main thing: to make it clear to the kid that drawing animals is not difficult, if we take geometric shapes as a basis (in this case, these are circles and semicircles) and show a bit of imagination.

You can draw a dog in the same way:

How to draw a person?

How to teach a child to draw a little man? Not as easy as you want, but not as difficult as it seems. Begin!

Diagram of the image of a man in full growth

1. Draw an oval and a rectangle on the sheet (as shown in the picture), and then attach them with a line to each other. We finish drawing the little man's legs and handles with fingers.

2. Then add two lines to the arms to make them appear thicker. Let's do the same with the legs. Now let's draw the ears for the man (two semicircles on the sides) and make the hair.

3. A person's face deserves special attention, but it will be easy to draw his features - mouth, nose and eyebrows if you first look at the drawing. Add a neck to the man and draw a shirt with a collar.

5. We draw pants and boots for him, draw his palms. There is nothing left: erase auxiliary lines, outline the contours and decorate the person.

How to draw a human figure in motion and a face

Similarly, you can depict a person in motion or draw a portrait of him. The step-by-step process is detailed in the following picture:

Drawing circle: when and why?

By the age of 6, a preschooler who is actively drawing already knows how to create with paints and pencils. If his drawings differ significantly from the creativity of his peers (for the better), send the preschooler to a circle so that an experienced teacher can continue to study with him.

To choose a good circle, it is enough to find out if there is a private school or a House of Art in your area. Very often, ordinary drawing teachers conduct such classes directly in schools (no age limit).

Individual lessons

If you want your child to create professionally at the age of 6, take him to individual lessons. Their advantages are that:

  • the teacher visits you at a convenient time;
  • you choose the program according to which the child will learn (for example, drawing portraits);
  • lessons are paid on the fact of the lesson.

Individual lessons also have disadvantages: they are not cheap, and finding a good teacher can be difficult.

Summing up

Any method of teaching a child to draw is good - both at 1 year old and at 5 years old, as it develops imagination and allows you to spend a little more time with your baby.

At the same time, it is not so important whether you begin to strictly follow a certain methodology or independently develop an individual artistic program. It is important that these activities interest the child and be varied.

And even if a real artist does not grow out of your baby in the future, drawing lessons will still have a beneficial effect on his development and correct perception of the world around him.

Every child loves to paint. Someone draws well-thought-out plots, someone kalyak-malyak. Although, kalyaks-malyaks are only for us adults. And the child and they have their own meaning.

It's great when a child draws on his own.

I try not to interfere with the process and not give advice. However, I welcome drawing together. So you can show your child interesting techniques that he will definitely use in the future himself.

Recently, my daughter and I have mastered a new drawing technique. To tell the truth, we've tried it before, but somehow it didn't work. Apparently for us, the age of 3-4 is ideal for starting to draw through a cocktail tube.

This drawing technique is excellent and the child's articulatory apparatus.

Drawing with a straw. Blotography

Paper

For blotting, it is advisable to choose thick paper that does not immediately absorb paint. Thick landscape sheets or watercolor paper are great.

Paints

You can paint with gouache, slightly diluted with water; watercolor (the drawings will not be very bright) or ink (especially good for drawing tree trunks).

Instruments

Long cocktail stick and thick stiff brush.

My daughter and I painted with gouache slightly diluted with water on printer paper. It absorbs paint quickly, and it is not very convenient to paint on it.

Painting technique with a straw

Everything is very simple: you drip a large drop of paint onto the paper with a brush and blow fancy patterns out of it through a straw.

We painted only with black gouache. You can use a lot of bright and colored paints and get a bright abstract picture.

We got trees. It remains only to finish painting the leaves. This can be done with paints, pencils. Or you can use the applique technique: glue crumpled pieces of napkins of different colors (yellow, green, red), dried and crumbled leaves and you will succeed.

Anyutka decided to paint autumn. The background in the pictures below is made with oil pastels (the chalk is laid on its side, and with a light pressure, slide it over the paper). The leaves in the picture on the left are made with watercolors (hard brush, applied with "poke"). And in the picture on the right - the leaves are drawn by my daughter with oil pastels.

In this picture, only watercolor. The trunks were a little smeared from a damp brush, but Anya was not embarrassed: “It's just a storm, now I’ll draw how the leaves flew up into the sky and then fell”.

A little more about our drawing with my daughter

Anya loves to draw with pencils, crayons and paints. But for some reason he prefers one color in drawing. As a rule, she has one picture - one color. The next one can be made in a different color, but also in one.

Only occasionally, drawing with paints, my daughter gets two or three color pictures.

Pleases only one thing. In drawing, my daughter allows our joint creativity, but in crafts.

Sometimes we paint one picture together, sometimes each our own on a certain topic. Here is the result of co-creation.

The background was painted together. Anya chose the colors. I drew a tree (picture on the left), and everything else was Anya. The result is bright multicolored paintings. After such a joint drawing, Anya draws color pictures for some time, and then again returns to monochrome.

How do you draw with the kids?

The role of creativity has long been known as one of the dominant human needs along with natural ones. In the formation of a child's personality, the process of creativity takes a huge place, cultivating unique mental and physical qualities. Drawing is one of the main creative directions for children.

Throughout the entire process of personality formation, drawing acts as a conduit for the development of individual abilities and a way of knowing the world around. This creative industry will help in the upbringing of children and their development.

Along with natural ontogenesis, the drawing process also has its own stages of development, depending on the age of the children. This is especially important in the first years of a child's life, when the formation of his basic physical and mental processes is observed. Creativity in this case performs a huge number of functions, stimulating the versatile development of the personality at each age stage.

Drawing at an early age

At the age of 1 to 1.5 years, children are already actively showing a craving for creativity. Unconsciously, the child impulsively "decorates" the wallpaper and the floor with the help of materials at hand. At the initial stages, it is still difficult to talk about any motives in creativity, however, with due attention, children's expression can already form the skill of drawing.

Under supervision, you can provide the "artist" with canvas and paints. With the help of his hands, he will pour out all the creativity in a playful way on paper, without extending his "painting" to walls or furniture. Such an activity contributes to the development of creative skills, developing elements of plasticity of consciousness and forming neural connections for creative thinking.

  • Finger paint. This is one of the safer and more environmentally friendly options. Can be purchased for a small price or made by yourself.

Creativity from 2-3 years

At this stage in life, children begin to show signs of self-awareness. The identification of the “I” itself is formed. The difference between objects in their shape, color and size develops. Drawing for children 2-3 years old is an activity that helps in the study of new objects and their properties, stimulates memory processes. At this age, you can form creative skills at a conscious level.

Creativity at this stage is still impulsive. However, the child's mind already catches individual images and tries to capture them on paper using spots, blots and lines. The development of spatial object perception is being improved.

  • Wax and ordinary crayons.
  • Paints: gouache or watercolor.
  • Slate pencils.

What to draw?

Drawing on stones for children

With the help of paints or ordinary crayons, children will be happy to transform ordinary stones into works of art, give them a new look and properties. Such creations can later serve as an addition to some games. With the help of adults, they can also turn into decorative elements.

Shading shapes

Figures drawn by adults are an area for practicing accuracy and precision skills. The skill of using tools is being formed. When shading, children use "constraints" to fill out the form. You can use a checkered notebook for simple shapes.

Lines and points

Basic skills in drawing neat lines and points are essential. This improves fine motor skills, develops the "soil" for the development of calligraphic skills and handwriting in the future.

It is recommended to introduce a game element during classes: give assignments, find logical solutions with the children and help. It is also required to encourage activity and try to guess or suggest the depicted images.

Drawing in the younger group

Creativity 3-4 years

Children begin to show signs of introspection, become more mobile and coordinated. Sensitivity to art is growing. In creative processes, a logical sequence begins to appear, movement towards an intentional goal and the implementation of certain tasks. However, classes still cannot last long, as the object of attention is quickly lost.

Drawing for children 3-4 years old involves consolidating and improving basic knowledge, such as names and shades of colors, improving the use of tools (pencil, brush), honing the skill of drawing lines, hatching.

  • Solid pencils.
  • Pastel crayons.
  • Paints: gouache, watercolor.
  • Unconventional painting tools (sponges, cotton swabs).
  • Stamps and strokes.

What to draw?

Simple objects

Uncomplicated, easy-to-remember shapes such as vegetables and fruits. The technique for performing them should be simple and relaxed. The basic shapes, color ratios and meanings of objects are remembered. The accuracy of hatching and filling the form space is being improved.

Elements of nature

More complex, composite objects such as trees. Using the examples of birch, flowers, the sun, children improve the management of straight and winding lines. The elements of smoothness and flexibility of the hands are being worked out. Children continue their acquaintance with the world around them. The aesthetic aspect of the perception of the world is being brought up. At this stage, you can make simple pictures of the gardens.

Combination with non-traditional drawing techniques is encouraged: children can perform elements of foliage, rays of the sun or other objects with their own finger, cotton swabs, etc.

Colored spots

In the spots made, children can guess the images and complement them with details. You can use sponges or new aerosol markers. Such painting with paints develops imagination and creativity.

Drawing in the middle group

Creativity 4-5 years

The pupil of the middle group possesses the ability of introspection and conscientiousness of his actions. He understands his likes and dislikes. The ability to study an object arises not only from simple interest, but also from the desire to discover something new. Drawing for children 4-5 years old becomes a conscious way of self-expression and communication with the world. Children take the initiative to learn new things, to learn new properties of phenomena. Compositional vision develops.

What to draw?

Children learn to draw more complex objects step by step. Based on the knowledge of simple shapes, they learn the technique of creating objects such as a dog, a ladybug, a cat and simple insects. Step-by-step drawing for children structures the previously acquired knowledge, improves comparative perception and analytical thinking, and cultivates aesthetic qualities.

In the future, step-by-step drawing is fundamental for children to compose complex compositions and landscapes that require a spatial vision of objects.

Favorite object or animal

Children love to actively share their emotions and impressions. Creativity for them is an opportunity to show others their preferences and tell about them. Most often, they like to depict inanimate objects that they have studied carefully and for a long time. For example, toys: dolls, airplanes, balls, cars, etc. By displaying their favorite subject on a sheet, kids cultivate individuality in themselves, strengthen the position of personal opinion and their own point of view, excite memory processes, improving and strengthening them.

Optional: modeling

The process of making a three-dimensional figure has a beneficial effect on the muscles of the hands, finger coordination and flexibility, and continues to develop fine motor skills. Just like drawing, it requires a step-by-step action: making simple parts and connecting them into a larger object. The sculpting technique involves working with small elements, which develops accuracy, perseverance and accuracy, for example, a hedgehog's needles or a cat's ears. The volumetric perception develops also the painting of the finished product.

Drawing in senior and preparatory groups

Creativity 5-6 years

Will and responsibility appear in the foreground of consciousness. There is an awareness of oneself in society. Children of the older group are actively beginning to show through communicative and social skills. Value judgment and perception develops. Pupils evaluate not only themselves as a person, but also assess the personality of other people. The child begins to feel the nature and mood of the phenomena. Drawing for children 5-6 years old contributes to the development of aesthetic perception of the world, hones the identification of objects and phenomena by properties, deepens artistic perception. In the classroom in groups, social and social skills are improved.

Creativity at 6-7 years old

Pupils of preparatory age already possess the necessary personality traits for a full-fledged learning process in the first grade. Awareness occurs based on the judgments of peers and adults. The personality is evaluated in time: the concepts of the past and the future are realized. Drawing for children 6-7 years old consolidates the learned material, continues to improve the personality, develops creativity and moral and aesthetic perception.

What to draw?

Pictures of nature, landscape

With the necessary building-up skills, children can continue to develop building and visualization skills for object properties. The accumulated experience and memory allows them to create simple landscape compositions. The seasons are hot topics. The themes of spring, summer, winter and fall landscapes continue to develop the skills of color perception of the world. Also, with the help of the palette, emotional shades are identified, for example, spring - a bright gamut, inspiration. In the creative process, the skill of using the tools is honed. There is a training in the arrangement of elements in space. The child strives for the expressiveness of the display of his inner vision, consolidates the knowledge about the world around him.

We draw a person

In these types of classes, pupils get acquainted with the elements of human anatomy, the structure of the face, analyze and differentiate the traits and qualities of each person. Deepen their skills in the personal perception of others. Topics such as "drawing a portrait", "my future profession" or "my family" contribute to the development of reflection and perception of one's personality in this world.

It is best if the lesson is supported by means of musical and artistic expression in order to be able to evoke a creative and emotional response in the process of creation. Joint creative work will be interesting for children from five to seven years old inclusive. Children will be happy to be involved in the common work.

Right hemispheric drawing

A technique based on intuitive perception. Right-brain drawing for children acts as an alternative technique that discards the logical perception of objects and phenomena. The work involves inverted pictures, schemes that do not seem to matter. The principle of the technique is to temporarily suppress the work of the left hemisphere. This allows the right-brain creative sector to become more active. This way of drawing partially runs counter to the basic standards of teaching fine arts in kindergarten, however, this technique has success not only in developing the creative skills of pupils, it reveals their mental potential.

We started painting at about 1 year old. At first, Antoshka did it with finger paints in the bathroom. A couple of months later, the husband made an easel, and the son got acquainted with the brush and gouache.

Basically, the child draws whatever he wants with the materials that he wanted or that I give. Free drawing should be practiced as often as possible. But not limited to this.

In this article, I will share drawing ideas with children 1 - 3 years old, talk about various drawing techniques with paints, pencils and other materials, even shaving foam.

You can also download coloring pages for the little ones and templates for drawing with fingers.

I will not talk long about the benefits of drawing with children. I think you already know very well that it develops a child's imagination, creativity, improves hand coordination and fine motor skills of the fingers.

How to draw with a child 1-3 years old

In the article about applications, I talked about the book E.A. Yanushko... This author also has a book "Drawing with young children"(Labyrinth, Ozone). This is an excellent teaching aid for parents and teachers, and a CD with demo materials is also attached to it.

The book presents methodology for drawing lessons with children 1 - 3 years old... I take many ideas from it.

Before you start painting with your child, here are some simple tips from me:

  • Show your child different drawing techniques (poking, brushing, stamping, etc.) gradually, starting with the simplest ones.
  • I highly recommend buying or making your own easel for painting. It is relevant as soon as the child learns to walk.
  • Draw as often as possible.
  • Use a wide variety of painting materials.
  • Try to immediately teach your child to hold the brush and pencil correctly. But if the child stubbornly refuses to do this, do not insist.
  • Give your child maximum freedom. Let the child draw what he wants and how he wants. Never ask him to paint the way you want. Below I will talk about various techniques for drawing with children, but if the child refuses to do something, do not insist.

Don't fix the child! Let him paint purple sky and red grass. So what if cows don't fly, and there are no fences on the rainbow. Your child's mind is still free of clichés. He is a real creator.

The more different art materials you use, the better.

You need to start with the easiest to learn (for example, finger paints), eventually reaching the usual pencils.

We draw on:

  • plain paper,
  • old wallpaper,
  • easel,
  • magnetic board,
  • plaster figures for coloring,
  • wood, plywood,
  • fabrics,
  • tiles in the bathroom and in the bath itself.

For drawing with children 1 - 3 years old, you can use the following materials:

  • Finger paint;
  • gouache, watercolor (and, accordingly, brushes of different sizes);
  • felt-tip pens (water-based and regular);
  • crayons (wax and regular);
  • wax pencils;
  • dry pastel;
  • pencils (preferably soft);
  • gel and ballpoint pens;
  • foam rubber, sponges;
  • cotton swabs and cotton wool;
  • stamps;
  • semolina;
  • shaving foam.

You will also need a glass of water(preferably a non-spill) and palette for mixing paints.

As I already said, we started to paint with finger paints at about 1 year old. And they did it in the bathroom. Then they switched to paper.

Finger paint are safe and do not require the use of water. You can replace them with gouache.

The easiest thing to do is draw dots with your fingers:

  • seeds for birds, peas;
  • apples, berries, cones, balls on the tree;
  • seeds for watermelon;
  • drops of rain, snow, traces of animals;
  • spots to giraffe, ladybug, leopard.

You can draw points with your fingers using ready-made templates.

And of course, let the kid smear the paint all over the sheet with his fingers and palms.

Drawing techniques with paints and pencils

All drawing techniques involve the use of different materials depending on the age and capabilities of the child. We give the very kid paints, crayons, felt-tip pens, and the older child - pencils, etc.

I list all techniques in ascending order of difficulty.

Free drawing

My son calls this painting "kalyaki-malyaki".

We introduce the child to drawing materials and give him the opportunity to experiment. At the same time, there is no need to give any tasks to draw something specific.

Practice freehand drawing as often as possible at any child's age. It perfectly develops imagination.

Painting a sheet

We give the child paints, crayons, etc. and we propose to draw:

  • grass for a ladybug,
  • water for fish,
  • sand, snow.

The kid needs to paint over the sheet, and not draw individual blades of grass, etc. A one-year-old will cope with such a task.

It's also great here to use paint rollers- simple or curly.

Painting an element

We draw the base (small images of animals and various objects) and ask the child to hide them by painting over:

  • hide a mouse, bunny, fish, bug;
  • hide the moon and stars, the sun, the car.

With very young children, it is interesting to do this with a sponge; with children from 2 years old, it is useful to paint over elements with pencils.

Draw dots

Pre-draw the basis for the drawing - a bird that the child will feed, a bush on which berries will grow, etc.

Invite your child to draw: seeds, berries, snow, raindrops, a bagel with poppy seeds, freckles, polka dots on the dress.

  • Straight lines: rays to the sun, stems to flowers, carrot tops, fence, cage, path, rails, paws to bugs, cactus needles, teeth to a comb.
  • Wavy: waves for a boat, worms, legs of an octopus, paths for a car, hair.
  • Broken lines: slides, a fence, icicles, a road with turns, thorns for a hedgehog.

Draw circles, ovals

Balls, apples, sweets, Christmas decorations, beads, balloons, rowan berries, berries, bubbles, eggs, cones.

Drawing spirals

Invite your child to draw: a snail's house, smoke, a bee's flight, curls, rings for a sheep, threads.

We finish drawing

Antoshka is very fond of playing this game: I say that one boy drew different figures, but did not finish drawing, and I invite my son to finish drawing. He does it with great pleasure. This is how we finish drawing:

  • geometric figures;
  • I draw a road (broken line) and Antoshka repairs it,
  • any drawings that are simple and understandable in terms of the plot.

Drawing simple plots

This is the most difficult stage in mastering the drawing. Here the child combines different drawing techniques as instructed by an adult.

Take turns asking your child to draw different elements that will eventually turn into something specific. But give your child the maximum freedom that is possible.

The purpose of this drawing is to show the child how the finished image appears in stages.

The child can hold the sponge with his hands or with a regular clothespin.

Simple painting with a sponge:

  • waves, sand, snowy landscape, grass, paths - by smearing;
  • snow, leaves - poked;
  • we hide bugs, fish, etc. - painting over.

Draw the shape you want on the sponge - a triangle, a tree, or even letters. Cut out. Invite your child to dip a sponge in gouache and make a print on paper.

The child applies the shaving foam to the template with a brush. Thus, you can cover a Christmas tree, a house with snow, make a snowdrift for a bear, etc.

The foam can also be applied to rubber toys. This is great fun for the kid.

I talked about drawing with semolina in articles about, as well as about. There are two ways to paint with semolina:

1 way... You need to pour some semolina on a surface with sides: a tray, a baking sheet, a lid from under a large shoe box. And then the child draws simple images with a finger or a brush - waves, paths, circles, etc., makes fingerprints or various objects.

2 way... Print out a coloring book for the little ones. Invite your baby to apply glue to the image and sprinkle it with semolina. It will rather be coloring with decoy. But you can just give the child a brush with glue and let him randomly apply it to the sheet, and then pour the semolina, shake it and see what pattern comes out.

I paint semolina with gouache. Instead of semolina, you can use sand for children's creativity.

On the Internet, I have repeatedly come across such an opinion that children should not be given coloring pages before school. They supposedly interfere with the creative development of the child. Some parents are simply afraid to give coloring to a child, while others have a real phobia.

I AM I don't see anything wrong with the coloring pages... But rather only a benefit if used in moderation. And the main priority is to give free drawing, which I mentioned above.

Offer toddlers simple coloring pages using 1 - 2 colors. From 1.5 years old, you can try coloring that involves the use of several colors. But all the same, the elements in them must be large. And you need to paint them, of course, with paints.

But it is better to paint small images with pencils or felt-tip pens, because the child simply does not have enough patience for large ones.

At 1 - 2 years old, children are also interested in water coloring(Labyrinth, Ozone, My-shop).

There are ready-made ordinary coloring pages for sale (Labyrinth, Ozone, My-shop).

I really hope this article was helpful to you. Draw with your child and then he will also love this activity. Which drawing method does your kid like best?

Drawing is the most popular and rewarding creative activity in many families with young children. you can use different tools and materials, but I will focus only on how to teach children to paint correctly at home. After all, not everyone has the opportunity and time to take a child to an art studio. And they take there already trained children with ready-made skills. Here we will develop them on our own with our child.

Where to start?

First, you need your desire to deal with the baby and his interest in the creative process. How to teach children to paint safely and with maximum benefit - this will be discussed in this article, based on personal experience of drawing with children and grandchildren.

It is most convenient to use water-based paints, watercolors or gouache. Because they are perfectly cleaned from clothes and furniture, do not cause allergic reactions in children and are not toxic if ingested, which often happens with the smallest artists. Agree that this is the most important argument in their favor.

Introduce your child to different tassels, preferably squirrel or pony tassels. They are inexpensive and very high quality, do not leave hairs on paper and do not roll during the arts of children who still do not know how to properly hold a brush and make movements with strokes.

Choose thick paper. Such. Like drawing sheets and A3 size. Do not spare money at the initial stage and disappointment will bypass you and your children.

Many art teachers recommend purchasing special sippy cups and a palette. But my grandchildren and I do well with ordinary glass jars for baby food, in which we collect water and a white plate instead of a palette.

Drawing with paints for children is best to start with learning how to hold the brush correctly in your hands and draw strokes with a dry brush on a sheet of paper. That is, first practice precise hand movements and brush pressure before using paints.

How to teach preschoolers to draw with paints

Drawing with paints and a brush for preschoolers begins with the choice of one color, at the discretion of the child. This will keep you interested in the process and will not seem difficult from the outset. Let the child first learn to draw curves and straight lines, closed contours, and also color them. Here Emir draws circles with yellow paint and paints them over.

When working with liquid gouache, the kid must learn not to take excess paint with a brush, so that it does not drip or drip onto the paper. Important. So that the child knows how to properly rinse the brush in water, shake it off at the edge of the glass before using the paint. The grandson already understands that in order for the drawing to turn out bright, it is necessary to constantly dip the brush in water before each set of paint. On dry it turns out dirty and indistinct.

Many parents ask how to teach children to draw with paints. I would say that this is not an entirely correct question. You need to learn to draw with one paint long enough until the strokes and lines are neat. Only then introduce paint of a different color, also of your child's choice.

Don't be afraid if he chooses black. Using his example, it will be easier for a child to understand the need to often change the water in a glass and constantly wash the brush when changing color. Otherwise, the paint will become dirty. But accuracy in drawing with paints must be taught immediately and without fail.

Emir and I were preparing, but we decided to draw the main character ourselves. I helped my grandson to decorate the cheeks and mouth, but he will do the cheeks and eyebrows himself.

I want to warn parents right away so that they do not expect clear and accurate movements from their baby when introducing the second color right away. Everything will come gradually, because it is difficult for a small child to do several things at the same time. If you continue to reinforce the correct skills, then accuracy in the drawings will return.

Drawing objects for children of three summers is very difficult. Most likely, their drawings will be chaotic and dissimilar. But children develop imagination, fine motor skills of hands, observation and hone accuracy and accuracy.

If you want to complicate drawing for your child, then invite him to draw show jumping in one color, and paint it in a second color. Summing up, I will draw your attention to several important points in teaching children to paint with paints at the very initial stage:

1.Kids can paint with a brush correctly.

2. Learn to rinse the brush thoroughly before using new paint

3.Never mix two paints in a picture

4.Do not smudge paint with each other in the package

5. Draw closed lines and paint inside the path

6.Try to work carefully, do not stain everything around with paints, and do not spill water on the table

You can watch a video of how Emir behaves when changing colors

Do not scold children if they are making a mess. But you must always remove it with your child. Have him wipe up spilled water with a rag on his own. Washes out paints if they are all smeared while painting. And only after that he rests. This is not so tedious procedure as to feel sorry for the baby and clean everything herself. So it will go on for a long time. But that's up to you. Occupational therapy has not harmed anyone yet, but the brain develops perfectly.

Do not forget to cheer the children up, praise them for. It's a great idea to sign the child's drawings and put a date, so that later together you can observe the progress in the classroom every year.

Today I focused on how to teach children to paint at the age of two or three.
