Inna, ten years is still a milestone. Where will the New Gems move next?
We have devoted ten years to giving new life to the beautiful songs of the Soviet past. And I believe that we have coped with this task. This spring we open a new page in history: now our repertoire includes not only old, favorite hits, but also songs created especially for us.
Who creates these songs for you? Not your brother?
No, we have great authors. My brother and I do not overlap in terms of creativity. Dima has his own way, I have my own. I have been working with my team for ten years, Dima devoted these ten years to educational programs, traveled to more than 100 cities in Russia with master classes. It would be wrong to load it with "New Gems" too.

You have all musicians in your family. Why did your son, whose name is also Dima, by the way, break the tradition?
Dima plays the piano beautifully and several times performed with his uncle Dima at his solo concerts. At one time he really wanted to go on stage, but not to sing, but to play, because, despite his musicality and excellent ear, he (smiles), like everyone in the Malikov family, does not have outstanding vocal abilities. But it so happened that somehow the son was left at home alone ... cold, hungry ... (Smiles.) And for the first time he decided to cook for himself. Then I cooked it again, but for the family. And I realized that cooking is the work of his life.
And what are his plans for the future?
Last summer, when he was doing an internship in Italy, mentors advised him to go to The Institute Paul Bocuse in France. Dima caught fire with this idea. I learned French in six months, because they only accept it with knowledge of the language. And now he has already entered there.
What dishes does he make you happy with?
He cooks everything from salads to pasta. Even a simple potato can make it extraordinary.
Are you not afraid to get better?
I'm afraid. (Smiles.) It's hard for me, but I'm holding on. Sometimes I come home late on purpose. Fortunately, he doesn't cook every day. Sometimes he can go somewhere with friends in a cafe for a snack.
That is, you are completely free from cooking at home?
Cooking is not mine at all. I have always been in charge of cleaning the house. The ability to cook deliciously was passed on to Dima from his dad.
Dima's father is also a fan of his culinary creativity?
Vladimir, Dima's dad and I, broke up five years ago. Dima was then 12 years old. Now they communicate very little. But I am sure that everything will change.
Why did you break up with your husband?
It turned out that we are complete opposites in everything. When we met him, when he courted me, I did not see it. He was very gentle, attentive and kind to me. I was then 21 years old, he is five more. He is an accomplished businessman, and I studied at GITIS and was just starting my singing career. But love is one thing, and family life is another. Gradually, such traits of his character began to appear, with which I could not reconcile. I am a creative person, very sociable. He is not creative, not very sociable, and also rather tough. And I had other examples before my eyes. Our family has always had complete equality. No one dominated anyone, relatively speaking, they didn’t hit the table with their fist: "It should be as I said." Vladimir all these years tried to remake me. Useless. Did not work out. We, of course, tried to preserve the relationship: there were departures, arrivals, conversations, persuasions. But suddenly the moment came when I realized that everything. Point of no return. Then I just packed my things, closed the door behind me and went to my parents. From that moment on, we do not communicate with him.
And in what way did your spouse limit you? He didn't want you to perform?
Yes, I didn't. But that's not the point. He was jealous of everything around me, be it work or friends. For him, only he, I and our son existed. And for me this is not enough. I am very attached to my parents, I have many friends, girlfriends, I have a wonderful team, an interesting, eventful life. And this is all important to me too.
Probably, such a domineering person is unlikely to easily come to terms with the fact that you leave and your son stays with you?
Yes, the first year after the breakup was difficult. There really was a question with whom Dima would live further. Vladimir tried to defend his right to raise a child. But in the end everything worked out well - Dima stayed with me.
Does Dima have any grudge against his father?
I don't think he has any deep grudge against him. They just lacked mutual understanding. In family relationships, the main thing is mutual understanding. Anything can happen, but if people are able to negotiate with each other, then this is a huge plus. Dima's dad did not want to negotiate with any of us. He wanted both Dima and I to be the way he wanted us to be. He demanded our absolute obedience, and Dima and I each have our own character. Although we get along well with each other.
Dima probably wants his mother to be happy not only with him.
Of course, although, it seems to me, he does not think much about my personal life. He is more worried about his affairs of the heart, believe me.
But you now have a loved one ...
Yes there is. (Smiles.) Although, in general, I am absolutely self-sufficient. I feel good on my own. And yet it is impossible to be alone all the time. Thank goodness I met a man I can trust. So far, our relationship is just beginning. But I am absolutely sure that all the best in my life is yet to come.

- I don't know yet whether I will celebrate or not. The fact is that on New Year's Eve I work. On the first of January, my friends and relatives will definitely gather. To be honest, I never arrange any grandiose parties and feasts. After New Year's Eve, everyone is tired, sleepy. Therefore, I never think of anything. Cafes and restaurants are open, and you can sit well at home. The main thing is a festive mood. As for all the signs, I try not to think about it.
- Usually, after a stormy meeting of the New Year, the majority have enough strength to crawl off the couch and get to the refrigerator. How is your birthday going?
- After work, we sleep off until lunchtime. Then we begin to sort out the gifts. I get stuck on the phone because everyone starts calling and congratulating. Relatives come ... In our family there is no such thing to sort out on New Year's Eve. I can't even imagine it. Well, let's have a glass or two of champagne - that's the maximum. Moreover, with our rhythm of work on New Year's Eve, it disappears with lightning speed.
- You have a musical family. Probably impromptu concerts happen?
- We work so hard throughout the year and devote ourselves to our profession that when we get together as a family, we prefer to just talk. (Smiles.)
- And as a child, you and your brother Dima performed on a chair in front of the guests?
- Oh sure. But I have few such memories, as well as photographs of that time. Now we are photographing a lot of our children, and this was not the case before. I mostly have my school pictures. By the way, my classmates always came to me on the first of January. In those days, they did not go on vacation, everyone stayed at home. We celebrated magnificently, and then went for a drive up the hill.
- Do they give you gifts for the New Year and for your birthday?
- It depends on who. There are people who do not give at all or consider it normal to present one present for all occasions. Everything is very individual. It is customary for us to give some pleasant, symbolic little things for the New Year.

- Nothing. Although, probably, money and time. I will not hide that it is expensive. I go to the gym, but I do it there with a trainer, because I want to spend this time productively ...
