The Rosicrucian Order ("Order of the Rose and Cross") is a theological and secret mystical society, which was founded, according to one version, during the late Middle Ages in Germany by Christian Rosicrucian. Contains traditions, teachings that are built on ancient esoteric truths hidden from the common man, giving an understanding of nature, the physical universe and the spiritual kingdom.

The symbol of the Rosicrucian Order is the image of a rose blooming on the cross, which the Rosicrucians associate with the resurrection and redemption of Jesus Christ.

The Order of the Rose and Cross is known under the abbreviation AMOLS. The Rosicrucians claim that their traditions come from the era of the allegedly existing mythical civilization of Atlantis. The teachings of the Atlanteans in the field of magic, astrology, alchemy and other esoteric sciences, according to some of the researchers, were partly adopted and supplemented by the ancient Egyptian priests. And later they ended up in the hands of the Rosicrucians.

It should be noted that a great place in the teachings and activities of the Rosicrucians was occupied by the ideas of moral self-improvement, occult sciences - black magic, cabalism, alchemy, the search for the "philosopher's stone", "life elixir" and other mystical directions.

… The one who was considered worthy became one of many in the ranks of the mysterious, omnipresent, international Order. No one, even the closest friends, should not have known anything, but even guess about it. The neophyte took an oath that he would hide his affiliation with the Rosicrucian Order for 100 years!

The Pallidal Rosicrucians had such a high level of intelligence that it can only be described with colossal difficulty. Even in our time!

In order to now somehow confirm these words, let us recall for decades the suppressed and defamed, and now more and more often mentioned. Over the past decades, many books have been published about him. All of them are imbued with surprise and great respect for this amazing and majestic scientist. However, almost no one even remembers the fact that Nostradamus is believed to be directly related to the Rosicrucians!

A member of the Rosicrucian Order was supposedly, say, Jacob Bruce, who was one of those who were in the circle. He (Jacob Bruce) left behind the so-called "Bruce calendar". But if those who wish can read freely (because there is literature on this topic), then the "Bryusov calendar" is not yet found on the layouts.

Jacques Casot also had a relationship with the Rosicrucians. True, some believe that at a rather young age he had to say goodbye to the Order, because he joined the Martinists. Well known is his prediction regarding the fate of the guests of one house, in which he once had lunch. for about 200 years, so we omit the details.

The mysterious, albeit rather controversial, figure of Count Cagliostro has also been repeatedly associated with the Rosicrucian Order. Although the researchers of the tradition believe that he was also at one time expelled from the ranks of the Rosicrucians for being overly inclined to advertise his person.

But, for example, Manly P. Hall thinks differently. And he assures that “... the rumors circulating around him can be traced to the machinations of the Inquisition, which disbanded them, thus seeking to justify his persecution. The main charges against Cagliostro were that he was trying to found a Masonic lodge in Rome and nothing else. All other charges were brought against him later. For some undisclosed reasons, the Pope commuted Cagliostro's death sentence to life imprisonment ... It was rumored that he fled and, according to one version, went to India, where his talents were assessed in contrast to politically driven Europe.

In fact, without a doubt, it is now perceived to belong to the Order of the Count Saint-Germain, whose mysterious abilities have interested Alexander Pushkin all his life. was an outstanding expert on the principles of Eastern esotericism. Once the count announced that he would stay in India for 85 years and then return to European affairs again. At times he admitted that he was following the orders of higher powers. But the count did not mention that he was sent into the world as a representative of the Order.

For those who have already read something on this topic, recall that Jacob Boehme (1575-1624), and Emmanuel Swedenborg (1688-1722), and the brilliant Polish writer Jan Potocki, known for his novel Manuscript, found in Zaragoza ”, also related to the Rose and the Cross.

Among the apologists of Rosicrucianism, a prominent place was occupied by John Haydon, who signed himself with the name of the Servant of the Lord and Secretary of Nature. In his interesting work, entitled "The Rose and the Cross Opened," he gave a mysterious but valuable description of the Brotherhood of RC: "And then there are people, as they call themselves, the Rosicrucians, the divine brotherhood inhabiting the vicinity of heaven, representatives of the Actor of peace, eyes and ears the great King, seeing and listening to all things ... They say that these Rosicrucians are angelically enlightened, as Moses was enlightened. "

Haydon further states that these mysterious Brothers possess versatile and varied powers and can take any form at will. He also stated the following: “... one of them went from me to my friend in Devonshire and brought me greetings from him to London the same day, although it requires 4 days of driving; they taught me excellent astrological predictions as well as earthquake predictions; they slow down the spread of plague in cities; they calm winds and storms; they calm the riot of seas and rivers, travel through the air; they prevent evil manifestations of witchcraft; they cure all diseases. "

One of the order's supporters confirms John Haydon's claim of the Rosicrucians' ability to make themselves invisible at will.

A special question for researchers has always been the relationship of the Rosicrucian Order with the widespread Masonic lodges both before and in our time. Some are now trying to convince those interested in this issue that the Rose and the Cross is nothing more than a kind of Freemasonry. This is an extremely wrong point of view!

It makes sense to say the main thing - the direction of the main tasks of the Order and the Masonic lodges both in antiquity and in modern times, suggests that these directions are quite different! Therefore, it is possible only with considerable regret and annoyance to quote the somewhat lightweight words of E. Parnov from the "Throne of Lucifer": "Organizationally absorbed by Freemasonry, Rosicrucianism bifurcated and continued its occult existence in the depths of frankly witchcraft, or even absolutely satanic sects."

Well, someone who, but, he probably knows that this is not entirely true ...

Eliphas Levi (1810-1875), whose books were and enjoy considerable popularity, once met with the famous English writer Bulwer-Lytton, who is said to have done a lot to restore the "French Cabalistic Order of the Rosicrucians" in the middle of the last century. And in 1866, Robert Wentworth Little revived something similar in England, having spent many years before this in the archives, where he found a description of some of the ancient Rosicrucian rituals. Then he joined this Order, which bore the nickname "Apocalyptic Beast".

No doubt! Researchers have long come to understand that rituals actually took place among the Knights of the Rose and the Cross!

But how much work, reason, experimental work on oneself, truly inhuman risk and courage required the path of true initiations! Rosicrucians are not. They never had cloaks with a beautiful eight-pointed cross. According to the charter, they had to wear clothes characteristic of the country in which they are located, so that they would not differ in any way from ordinary people.

They knew perfectly all the official sciences. But their secret views and knowledge of the world were in stark contrast to all these sciences. Rosicrucian views and teachings about the structure of the Universe, Matter and Spirit in their depth could not be compared with the official level.

Povel and Bergier state: “What strikes us, finally, is the repeated statements of the Rosicrucians and alchemists that the main goal of transformation is the transformation of thinking itself. It is not about magic, not about the gift of heaven, but about the discovery of realities that force the researcher to think in a completely different direction ... "

... Once Napoleon II was very interested in everything that had at least some relation to the Brothers of the Rose and the Cross. For huge sums of money, he collected, searched and accumulated their rarities, regardless of whether they were things or documents. But once diligently collected values, which were also vigilantly guarded ... burned out without a trace ... It is believed that Rosicrucian objects have a similar feature - not everyone can save them ...

We will not get ahead of ourselves, but note that the one who became a brother lived a very tense life, full of dangers and constant risk of life. Its essence was secrecy and caution. He could be a dashing swashbuckler, an excellent warrior and poet (such was Cyrano de Bergerac), an excellent friend for his fellow soldiers. And at the same time - an extremely clever and secretive Brother of the Order, persistently performing his work ... He could be the most famous doctor at the court or a professor at the famous European university, but only the Chapter of the Order knew what work actually absorbs all his mental and moral strength ...

Yes, and they were also constantly somewhere nearby, they could not be discounted for a minute: the Luciferites, the Jesuits and some other people ... And although the Luciferites and the Jesuits fought mortally, but with none of them the Brothers of the Rose and the Cross were not present, even though they could not conclude a temporary union. And they didn't want to ...

The question arises as to what attracted the most talented, smartest, most educated people of their time to lead such a life. For what, in the name of what over the centuries (or rather, millennia), they doomed themselves to hard work, danger and all kinds of deprivation?

What is this tradition, what did they believe in, what did these mysterious, legendary people work for?

Like their predecessors, the Rosicrucians never considered themselves enemies of the Christian church. At the same time, they did not consider themselves enemies of other religions either. On the contrary, those who walk the paths of the ancients have always treated religion with deep respect and inclination. This is the true truth when it comes to the bright path. And this is not the case when it comes to the Dark Path ...

But, respecting religion, occultists have always differed somewhat from religious versions.

So, for example, the Christian religion talks about God and Angels. The same concepts are contained in the "Legacy of the Atlanteans." A similar thing can be found in the Chaldean, and in the Egyptian, and in the Tibetan, and in the ancient Indian, and in the ancient Semitic treatises.

But the difference between the occult "Atlantic tradition", and therefore the Tradition of the Rose and the Cross and any religion, is as follows:

Religion establishes something similar to a "ceiling" for human activity, as if fundamentally limits its development both now and in the future.

At the same time, religion refers to the existence of a level of the hierarchy of heavenly forces. It is unattainably high from the potential "ceiling" in principle attainable by people. And this "dead zone" between the maximum level of human capabilities and the minimum level for the hierarchy of heavenly forces is fundamentally insurmountable for humanity.

As a consequence, trying to overcome it with human strength is heresy and blasphemy. This, by the way, is a consequence of all religions.

Esotericism is a completely different matter. “Heirs of the Atlanteans” have always proceeded from the fact that people have the right and should strive to achieve the level of the Gods in their cognition and unraveling of the secrets of nature! And even surpass it! But, according to, for example, Rosicrucian views, Gods also develop and improve!

Therefore, people in the distant future can become what the Gods were in the distant past!

Thus, according to Tradition, it is also impossible to compare with the Gods! But the fundamental difference between a religious and an esoteric approach is beyond doubt!

There is also a significant difference in the question of the structure of the universe, as well as in the understanding of the "root races".

“Heirs of the Atlanteans”, reflecting on the Hierarchy of Forces, believed that our visible world full of stars, our universe was realized according to the Will and Thoughts of Brahma, and with respect to the Universe there is an External God who is fundamentally unobservable. But there is also a much higher Essence - Brahman, which, however, is not the greatest Deity ... The highest level, about which a person is still able to say anything at all, is Parabrahman among the Hindus, Ein Soph - among the Kabbalists, Ancient of Days - among Tibetan lamas.

Hence it follows that the biblical Jehovah, or Sabaoth - the God of the Solar System, could never be considered as the Supreme Deity by esotericists!

Among the previously mentioned secret Templar-Luciferites, the Sabaoth was called Adonai. At meetings, rituals, meditations, etc., the Luciferites usually brought him a curse!

The above is already the most serious reason for the disagreement with Christian theologians ... By the way, even an entity equivalent to Brahma should have been silent. The Hebrew Kabbalists said that: "Ein-Sof can neither be comprehended, nor attributed to any specific place, nor be correctly named, although it itself is the causeless cause of all that exists."

Ein-Sof means "Inscrutable, Unknowable and Inexpressible." It was portrayed symbolically in the form of an endless circle or sphere. The "heirs of the Atlanteans" also distinguished the great circle, or the Manifested Deity. Or Brahma - also incomprehensible to us otherwise than through his creation - the Manifested Universe.

Parabrahman and Brahman - Essences, as already mentioned, are unknowable even for Brahma! Therefore, we will not talk about them anymore.

By the way, the Rosicrucians not only knew, but also widely used both the knowledge of "spiritual emanation" and much more amazing things.

People begin to see the real world around them with its dark and light sides. With its riddles and secrets. People no longer entertain themselves with illusions. They say, these oddities, dangers, mysterious and incomprehensible, do not exist! That there is no UFO, poltergeist, clairvoyance, teleportation, otherworldly forces,. Or, for example, violations of the principle of causality ...

The world is perceived as it really is!

Tradition says that sooner or later we will be replaced by the next, the Sixth Root Race. Its carriers will correspond to the Fifth Level or State. People of the Fifth Level will possess Self-Conscious Imaginative Consciousness. How can this be imagined?

The simplest thing is to refer to the examples that are available on the pages of popular science fiction books.

It is the person of the Fifth Level, according to the Rosicrucian views, who has the ability to create and send his image over long distances, not breathe, become invisible in the mind of an ordinary person, foresee the future and live for hundreds of years. Many hundreds of years! And much more ...

The next Root Race is the Seventh. She corresponds to a Person of the Sixth Level or State. He already owns the so-called Self-Conscious Object Consciousness. According to tradition, He is as much higher than the Man of the Fifth Level, as the latter is higher than we are. This is already a half-man-demigod. By volitional effort, he is able to create and transform material objects.

A person of the Sixth Level can independently move in open space without the use of technical devices over great distances. Pass through walls, create and destroy matter by volitional effort.

The talented story "The Beast" by the American writer AE Van Vogt provides a wonderful illustration of the capabilities of a Man of the Sixth Level. Capable, without any technical means, to move for tens of light years. To pass through energy barriers, to prevent the explosion of a hydrogen bomb at a distance by willful effort, to instantly comprehend the principle of operation and design of unfamiliar objects and structures of colossal technical complexity, etc.

But you cannot erase a word from a song ... Tradition posits one more, the Seventh Level. A person of the Seventh Level, if such a being can be considered as such, even if it is conditionally possible, at the same time owns the Self-Conscious Creative Consciousness. This creature is capable of creating worlds by volitional effort ... The entire Universe is a home for such a creature. A Man of the Seventh Level is capable, for example, of materializing at any moment, anywhere in the Universe. We simply cannot imagine its possibilities.

Even on the pages of science fiction novels, I have not come across examples of entities that could be considered as some kind of analogue of the esoteric Man of the Seventh Level. But in ancient occult sources, in the Rosicrucian tradition, such a Being is called - a perfect magician!

Therefore, in no way wishing to offend the wonderful modern science fiction writers, let us pay attention to the fact that they took, take and will take all their fundamental ideas from the heritage of Tradition.

But, of course, when it comes to the Levels of development, we must always remember that there are also sublevels ...

In various versions of the Tradition, according to esoteric sources, the number of these sublevels ranges from 7 to 11.

But let us return to the contemporary Man of the Fifth Root Race of the Fourth Level. In accordance with esoteric views, we are at different sublevels. Usually, not higher than the third or fourth. This is based on a nine-point scale. Those who are one or two sublevels higher amaze those present with their abilities. They can heal with their hands, see what is in a sealed envelope, are able to hypnotize other people. Very strange people often come to them ...

However, all this in no way means that representatives, for example, of the Fifth Level have not been on Earth before or not now ...

... So, as a first approximation, the Brothers of the Rose and the Cross - "heirs of the Atlanteans", represented the anthropogenesis of Mankind. But as creators, fearless experimenters, indefatigable researchers and powerful philosophers, the Rosicrucians were the vanguard that paved the way for humanity to the future ...

They were named “ Fama Fraternitatis RC» ( Glory of the RC Brotherhood) and " Confessio Fraternitatis» ( Creed of the RC fraternity). In 1616, the allegorical treatise "The Chemical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreuz" was added to them. From these texts it followed that in Europe since ancient times there has been a "most revered order" of mystics, philosophers and scientists, who set as their goal the "worldwide reformation of mankind." According to the Rosicrucians, their teachings are built "on ancient esoteric truths" that "are hidden from the common man, provide an understanding of nature, the physical universe and the spiritual realm", which is partly symbolized by the emblem of brotherhood - a rose blooming on the cross.

In the first centuries of its existence, Rosicrucianism was closely associated with Lutheranism and with Protestantism in general. Francis Yates sees the 17th century Rosicrucians as the forerunners of the Enlightenment. According to historian David Stevenson, this cultural movement had a significant impact on the formation of a similar mystical society in Scotland - Freemasonry. Subsequently, many secret societies produced their succession and rituals in whole or in part from the German Rosicrucians of the 16th-17th centuries. (and through them - from the Templars or even the Knights of the Round Table).

Three manifestos

In the text "Fama Fraternitatis" the legend of the German scientist and mystic philosopher called "brother C.R.C." (only in the third manifesto his name is deciphered as Christian Rosenkreutz, which literally means "Rose-Cross"). It is claimed that "our Christian Father" was born in 1378 and lived for 106 years. The first manifesto stated that the Christian was initially raised in a monastery and then went on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. However, he preferred to travel to Jerusalem to communicate with the sages of Damascus, Fez and the mysterious Damkar. Returning to his homeland, together with three students, he created the "brotherhood of the rose and the cross", the main goal of which was to comprehend divine wisdom, reveal the secrets of nature and help people. Traditionally, the date of the creation of the brotherhood is considered to be 1407.

According to legend, during the life of Christian Rosenkreutz, the "order of the rose and the cross" consisted of no more than eight members, each of whom was a doctor or bachelor. They all vowed not to charge fees for the sick, to keep the fraternity secret, and to find a replacement before they die. In 1484, Rosenkreutz died, and only 120 years later, his tomb with secret books (according to his prediction) was discovered by his followers. On his mausoleum, a Latin motto was displayed: “We are born of God. In Christ we die. We are resurrected in the Holy Spirit ".

Three Rosicrucian manifestos that appeared in Germany at the beginning of the 17th century attracted a keen interest in their contemporaries. Many prominent scientists and philosophers of that time tried to confirm the real existence of the mysterious brotherhood - and later some of them (like, for example, Michael Mayer, the physician and secretary of Emperor Rudolf II) assured that they succeeded. Much more often, the manifestos were regarded as a hoax or allegory (such, for example, was the attitude of Francis Bacon towards them), and the real existence of a secret society was denied.

"The Rosicrucian manifestos were conceived (at least according to their alleged authors) as an intellectual game, more or less humorous literary experience in the spirit of the utopian genre," says Umberto Eco. The Lutheran theologian Johann Valentin Andrea (1586-1654) ascribed to himself the authorship of The Chemical Wedding, who described this work as a plaything of an idle mind. In his later works, he scoffs at alchemy and places it on a par with music, art, theater and astrology as the lightest disciplines. Francis Yates disputes its authorship, and this opinion is the most widespread.

The emblem of the rose blooming on the cross was used more than 80 years before the publication of the first manifesto - in the Portuguese monastery of the Order of Christ (Convent de Cristo). This order is the legal successor of the Knights Templar in Portugal. In 1530, a minor work by Paracelsus was published, "Prognosticatio Eximii Doctoris Paracelsi", which also contains the image of a double cross on a blossoming rose.

Rosicrucians in the 17th and 18th centuries

In the works of Rosicrucian themes that appeared in the continuation of the 17th century, literally and figuratively, nine stages of the involutive-evolutionary transmutation of the threefold human body, the threefold soul and the threefold spirit are described, which is the traditional concept of the "initiatory path" for many secret teachings.

Manifestos of the early 17th century attracted attention in many parts of Europe. The idea of the existence of a secret brotherhood of alchemists and sages who sought to improve the arts, sciences, religion and the mental life of their states seemed then new and in demand, because the continent was ravaged by political and religious strife. The manifestos were repeatedly reprinted, which stimulated the emergence of new texts, the authors of which sought to confirm or deny the existence of a secret brotherhood. The peak of interest in the secret society was reached in 1622, when two posters appeared on the walls of buildings in the central square of Paris for several days. The first one read: “We, the Representatives of the Higher Collegium of the Rose-Cross, really are, obviously and invisibly, in this city (...)”, and the second poster ended with the words: “Thoughts, together with the true desire of the seeker, will lead us to him, and his to us" .

Most important for understanding the reaction to the Rosicrucian manifestos are the writings of Michael Mayer (1568-1622) from Germany; Robert Fludd (1574-1637) and Elias Ashmole (1617-1692) from England. Among others, Rosicrucianism was discussed Daniel Mögling, Gotthard Artusius, Julius Sperber, Adrian von Minsicht, Gabriel Node, Thomas Vaughn. So, Ashmole was convinced of the real existence of the secret society of the Rose and the Cross. Another prominent advocate of Rosicrucianism is Michael Mayer. He insisted that the R.C. exist to develop the sacred arts and sciences, including alchemy. However, Mayer himself never announced his own attempts to obtain precious metals (just like Heinrich Kunrath and other alleged Rosicrucians): in the texts of the Rosicrucian circle, the emphasis is on spiritual alchemy as a kind of symbol of the transformation (transformation) of the human soul.

It is possible to speak with full confidence about the existence of Rosicrucian organizations only since the beginning of the 18th century. In 1710 the Silesian pastor Sigmund Richter, under the pseudonym Sincerus Renatus ("sincerely converted"), published a treatise entitled "Theoretical and Practical Theosophy. True and complete preparation of the philosopher's stone of brotherhood from the Order of the Golden-Rose Cross. " In an essay consisting of 52 articles, Richter presented himself as a member of this brotherhood and reported that it consists of separate departments, each of which includes 31 adepts. The brotherhood is governed by an "emperor"; only Freemasons in the degree of master are accepted into it. Two other milestones in the development of the Rosicrucian doctrine of the XVIII century - "Opus magocabalisticum et theosophicum" by Georg von Welling (1719, consideration of alchemy and the teachings of Paracelsus) and "Aureum Vellus oder Goldenes Vliess" (1749, published under the pseudonym Herman Fiktuld).

17th-century writers who were sympathetic to the Rosicrucians were perplexed by the absence of any real evidence of the existence of a secret society in contemporary Europe. The author of the pamphlet Pia et Utilissima Admonitio de Fratribus Rosae Crucis (1618) explained this by the fact that the Rosicrucians had departed to the East because of the upheavals associated with the outbreak of the Thirty Years' War. The aforementioned Sigmund Richter also repeats this legend, as does the occult researcher René Guénon. At the same time, Arthur Edward Waite (a prominent historian of Freemasonry and Martinist) was extremely skeptical of the legends about the connection of the Rosicrucians with the East. On the basis of speculation about the succession in the XIX-XX centuries. many neo-Rosicrucian societies were formed. They claim to continue the occult tradition, supposedly coming from the "College of the Invisible" or the succession from the "Unknown Higher" (Supèrieur Inconnu), "secret leaders", etc.

Order of the Gold and Rose Cross

The earliest document indicating the integration of the Rosicrucians with the Freemasons dates back to 1761. It was discovered at the end of the 19th century by the Freemasonry historian Ludwig Abafi, working in the archives of the Hungarian counts Festetics. In this note, a member of the "Prague community" outlines the rites of the Rosicrucian order and lists its "fathers" who live in Prague, Regensburg and Frankfurt; many of them were also members of Masonic lodges at the same time. The charter of the society cited by him almost literally coincides with the charter of the society of unknown philosophers ( philosophes inconnus), which was published by Baron de Choudi in 1766, and is probably of French origin.

After the hierarchy of the order was improved, the Rosicrucians were declared in Silesia and eventually penetrated into Berlin, Hungary, Poland and Russia. In 1767 and 1777. the first known attempts were made to transform the Rosicrucian order. The most notable apologist for the renewed Rosicrucianism was the Marburg professor of medicine Friedrich Schroeder (1733-1778). According to V.N. Pertsev's description, the highest flowering of the teachings fell on the reign of the mystically minded King Frederick William II in Prussia: Rosicrucianism "died with him, and only its miserable remnants still continued to exist in some places."

In the late 18th century, members of the Order of the Gold and Rosy Cross claimed that Rosicrucianism was founded by the followers of the Egyptian sage Ormusse and Licht-Weise, who emigrated to Scotland under the name Builders from the East. After that, the original order allegedly disappeared until it was restored as Freemasonry by Oliver Cromwell. The Society of the Gold and Rose Cross also developed the modern symbolism of Rosicrucianism, as set out in the treatise Geheime Figuren der Rosenkreuzer (Altona, 1785).

Rosicrucian Degree in Freemasonry

"Knight of the Rose and Cross" - 18 ° in the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. The first mention of this degree dates back to 1765. The degree entered ritual practice and became widespread after 1780.

After 1782, Freemasonry added the Egyptian, Greek and Druidic Mysteries to its ritual practice. Marconi de Negre and his father Gabriel Marconi established the Memphis Masonic Rite in 1839, building on the earlier alchemical and hermetic research of the Rosicrucian scholar Baron de Westerode. Thus, the degree of Knight of the Rose and Cross also appeared in Egyptian Freemasonry. This degree, as well as in the DPSU, is practiced, either at 18 ° or 17 °.

The degree of Knight of the Rose and Cross is found in additional orders of the French Rite. So, initiation into it takes place in the 4th order of this charter.

From 1754 until his death in 1774, Jacques de Lieron Joachim de la Tour de la Case Dom Martinez de Pasqualis was a hereditary freemason who inherited a patent from his father, allegedly issued by Karl Stuart and giving him the right to “erect temples to the glory of the Great Architect ”, Worked tirelessly to establish and promote his Order of the Knights-Masons of the chosen cohens of the Universe.

Modern societies

The various groups that associate themselves with the "Rosicrucian tradition" can be divided into three categories: esoteric-Christian Rosicrucian societies professing Christ; Masonic Rosicrucian societies such as Societas Rosicruciana; initiatory societies such as the Golden Dawn and the Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis.

Esoteric Christian Rosicrucian societies contain esoteric knowledge related to the inner teaching of Christianity.

After the death of Schwartz, the primacy in the internal steps of the order passed to the Moscow group of N.I. Novikov. Novikov claimed that the mystically minded Field Marshal Repnin was the first to reveal to him that "true Freemasonry is the sacrament of the Rosicrucians", warning, however, that "true Rosicrucians ... are very difficult to find, and entry into their society is even more difficult."

“The armament of the Knights formed a knightly circle: the Round Table in which the Grail appeared; first held by the Grail Knights, then by the Knights Templar, and ultimately by the Rosicrucians.<…>The older generation (Kunrath, van Helmont and others) is fully developed; the line went, as they say, underground; and it was the Eastern Brotherhood, which actually dedicated Novikov.<…>I have been called for help; together with Mintslova, the three of us will make a real triangle for the construction of the temple of the knights; circles will gather around these "two"; Mintzlova will communicate with the Brotherhood of the Initiated. "

Mintzlova conveyed to her followers in Russia the three-part Rosicrucian motto: “ Ex Deo Nascimur (E.D.N.) In Christo mortimur (I.C.M.) In Spiritu Sancto Renascimur (I.S.S.R.)". Ivanov signed letters to other adherents of the secret teaching by I.C.M., and Bely - I.S.S.R. Bely ended his story "Kitten Letaev" (1915-16) with the words: "In Christ we die, in order to rise in the Spirit." During this period, the motif of the rose and the cross became one of the defining ones in Ivanov's poetry, and Alexander Blok, carried away by mystical teachings, created in 1912 his favorite brainchild - the play "The Rose and the Cross".

The first circle of followers of the Rosicrucian doctrine in Russia in modern times was organized in Ozerki near St. Petersburg in 1907 by a chemist's clerk Alexander Kordig. Conspiracy theory ranks the Rosicrucians as the driving forces behind the 1917 Russian Revolution. Before her disappearance in 1910, Mintslova said that "she allegedly had a conversation with one of the great dukes and that the latter raised the question of how we should be with our homeland and what to do with Tsar Nicholas II."

Thanks to the surviving order documents and texts, the spiritual brotherhood of the quasi-Rosicrucians "Lux Astralis", founded by the poet BM Zubakin and existed from 1912 to 1937, is known. From 1916 to 1933 there was an order of "Moscow Rosicrucian-Manicheists" (Orionians), whose members developed ceremonial magic.

Under the leadership of V.K. Chekhovsky and E.K. Teger in the general circle of mystical, religious and occult movements, organizations and groups operating in Russia in the 1920s, from 1925 to 1928. there was the Rosicrucian order "Amish Redevivus", which set itself the task of empirically mastering the occult forces of nature, in practice reviving the fullness of ancient initiation lost over the centuries and "conducting laboratory experiments on the transmission of thought at a distance, exteriorization, the cultivation of elementals, operational magic."

One of the last Rosicrucians in Russia was D.S.

  1. Directly in the manifestos it is stated: "We address you in parables, but we would gladly provide you with a correct, simple, easy and ingenuous description, understanding and knowledge of all secrets."
  2. In the next century, Winn Westcott (chapter Rosicrucian Society of England and one of the founders of the Order of the Golden Dawn) argued that Richter was indeed the head of the true Rosicrucian brotherhood founded by Christian Rosicrucian. However, the society he leads is a Paramasonic organization founded by the Freemasons of regular English charters as a system of additional degrees, in imitation of the Charter of the Knights-Benefactors of the Holy City of Jean-Baptiste Villermoz, who was the first to introduce the degree of the rose-cross into Freemasonry and was the author of the corresponding initiation ritual, which is used and still in the Scottish Rite. Thus, the credibility of the judgment of the founders of the Order of the Golden Dawn on the issue of the actual Rosicrucian brotherhoods, and not their imitators, is questionable.
  3. He calls the Frankfurt merchant Schwartz the head of the order.
  4. According to this tradition, the Rosicrucian order was founded in 46 AD. BC, when the Alexandrian Gnostic sage Hormuz and six of his followers were converted by one of Jesus' apostles, Mark. Their symbol is said to be a red cross topped with a rose, indicating a rose cross. Supporters of the doctrine proceed from the fact that Rosicrucianism appeared through the purification of the Egyptian mysteries with the highest teachings of early Christianity.

The ancient Mystical Order of the Rose and Cross is a world philosophical organization that preserves and develops ancient Knowledge. Its purpose is to bring a person closer to understanding the laws of the Universe, acting inside and outside it, and thereby open the horizons of a happier and more fruitful life for a person. The order is neither a religion nor a sect, its members are free in all respects. However, any political discussion is prohibited inside it. According to his motto "The widest tolerance with the strictest independence", he does not impose any dogma, but offers his teachings to those who are interested in spirituality and mysticism. It should be clarified that the term "mystical", included in its name, is of Greek origin and is derived from the word "mystery". In ancient times, it also meant "hidden knowledge", which can be defined as a certain synonym for science for that distant time.

The independence of the Order, named in its motto, means that it will never become part of another movement or fall under the influence of another organization. In this regard, it is appropriate to answer a frequently asked question about his attitude to Freemasonry: the order has nothing to do with Freemasonry. From its very foundation, it was completely independent from any other organization and that is why it was able to show such a wide tolerance for all philosophical and mystical movements. In the public consciousness, for obvious reasons, there is an aberration about various, secret in the past or in the present, organizations.

When speaking of the history of the Rosicrucians, two aspects must be distinguished. One of them is the allegorical legends and stories transmitted by Rosicrucians from mouth to mouth for centuries. The other is chronologically consistent, documented facts.

Often, in close connection with the history of Rosicrucianism, the name of Christian Rosenkreutz (1378-1484) is mentioned as the founder of the Order, from which it is concluded that the Order appeared only in the 14th century. In reality, this is not the case. When the moment was favorable for the revival of the Order in each country, the necessary actions were taken, manifestos appeared announcing the opening of the "crypt" where the "body" of the Grand Master of the KKK rested, along with rare values and manuscripts that gave the right to start a new cycle of the Order's activity. This announcement was an allegorical act, and the real face was not hidden behind the initials "KRK". They were a symbolic title given to some of the leaders of the Order.

Rosicrucian tradition traces the origins of the Order to the mystery schools of ancient Egypt, which appeared around 1500 BC under Pharaoh Thutmose III. One of the first mystery schools in Egypt was the Osiris school. Her teaching concerned the life, death and resurrection of this god. It was presented in the form of ritual dramas, and only people who had proved their desire to comprehend the mysteries of life could the Osiric myths be discovered. The mystical studies were of a closed nature and took place in specially built temples. Tradition refers to these temples the Egyptian pyramids, which were not the tombs of the pharaohs, but places of mystical activities and initiations. The organization itself was formed by 1350 BC, during the reign of Pharaoh Amenhotep IV, better known as Akhenaten. To this enlightened mystic mankind owes the appearance of the first monotheistic religion in history. The ancient Greek philosophers Thales and Pythagoras contributed to the spread in Greece of ideas brought by them from Egypt (VII-VI centuries BC). In the 3rd century A.D. under the influence of Plotinus, the Order spread to Italy, and starting from the VIII century, during the era of Charlemagne, the Order penetrates into France, Germany, England and the Netherlands. Over the next centuries, alchemists and Templars spread it in the East and West.

In the 17th century, the Order became most famous after the publication and wide distribution of the treatise Fama Fraternitatis. During this period, the Order became officially known as the Order of the Rose and Cross. In 1693, the European Rosicrucians, led by Master Johannes Kelpius, reached the shores of the New World and settled in Philadelphia. A few years later, in Pennsylvania, where they founded their colony, a printing press began operating, in which a large amount of mystical literature was published. Thanks to these settlers, the teachings of the Rosicrucians spread to America. Many American institutions were born under his influence and have received unprecedented development in this country of science and art. Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin worked closely with these Rosicrucians.

The teachings of the Rosicrucians were continuously enriched as a result of the work of the mystics on the path of knowledge of the secrets of the Universe, nature and man himself. To the knowledge gained by the sages of Ancient Egypt, the concepts of the thinkers of Ancient Greece were added, supplemented several centuries later by the Neoplatonists. Then they were enriched with the experiments of the Rosicrucian alchemists of the Middle Ages. Famous people of the Renaissance and modern times, staying in line with the tradition created by their remarkable predecessors, clarified and expanded many aspects of the ancient heritage. Among them we will meet the names of Leonardo da Vinci, Paracelsus, F. Rabelais, F. Bacon, J. Boehme, R. Descartes, B. Spinoza, B. Pascal, I. Newton, G, Leibniz, Cagliostro, M. Faraday, K. .Debussy and many others. All of them were members of the Order or had direct contact with it. Since the beginning of the twentieth century, other Rosicrucians, being recognized authorities in many fields - physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, philosophy - have supplemented this teaching. Therefore, the Rosicrucian does not study the doctrine of a certain master of thoughts or guru, the mystical knowledge to which he participates is not frozen in time. His work is based on laws and principles that have passed the test of practice and reflect everything that human genius has created for the glory of the Mind of the Universe.

The Teaching of the Order consists of four parts, each of which, in turn, is divided into stages. For example, here is a brief overview of the topics covered in the "Initiates" section: the fundamental laws governing the micro- and macrocosm; objective, subjective and subconscious areas of consciousness; the laws of organic life and cosmic energy; Rosicrucian ontology; unknown and famous philosophy of Ancient Greece; hygiene and therapy; human mental body, nerve centers; soul, free will, reincarnation; extrasensory perception, vibroturgy, telepathy, mystical regeneration, etc. In parallel with the above topics, the Rosicrucian teachings also offer a large number of experiments designed to develop some abilities that are not manifested in most people: intuition, visualization, mental creativity, telepathy, cosmic harmonization and others. The Rosicrucian doctrine is practical and should allow everyone to influence their lives, organize them according to their own expectations.

In this sense, the words of R. M. Lewis, the head of the Order from 1939 to 1987, are eloquent in his work "The Inner Sanctuary": "The mystic can and must achieve such results in work, science and or art that would bring him the respect of his colleagues and adepts. He should just as easily turn his consciousness inside himself, as well as enjoy the greatness of the Universe. Only ignorance makes some imagine a mystic as a person incapable of overcoming everyday material obstacles. Consider him helpless, speechless in the earthly world, think, that he needs to hide in the mountains in order to avoid real life, is an insult to the possibilities that the mystic has developed in himself. If you want to get to know the mystic, do not limit your searches to monasteries and temples. When you meet a person who is active, diligent, sociable, loved by loved ones and neighbors, tolerant in the religious field, able to show you in the simplest thing the power and greatness of God, know that this is a mystic. "

A harmonious combination of spiritual and physical development of a person, equal respect for the spiritual and material world are the key to building a happier and more dignified life. And this fundamental idea is best demonstrated by the main symbol of the order - the Rose and the Cross, in which the golden cross represents the physical body of a person and the tests of his earthly life, and the red rose in the center of the cross symbolizes the soul and its gradual flowering in the sequence of incarnations

The ancient Mystical Order of the Rose and the Cross, known all over the world under the abbreviation A.M.O.R.S. (D.M.O.R.K.) is not a newly created philosophical movement. From the point of view of history and tradition, D.M.O.R.K. goes back to the Mystery Schools of Ancient Egypt, where enlightened mystics gathered together to learn the secrets of existence. That is why they were called "Mystery Schools" (or "Mystery Schools"). They united researchers seeking a better understanding of the laws of nature and the universe. In this sense, the word "mysteries" in Antiquity, i.e. in the days of the ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman civilizations, did not have the meaning accepted today. It was not applied to "mysterious", "fantastic" or "strange", but rather meant gnosis, secret knowledge.

Mystery schools

One of the first mystery schools in Egypt was the Osiris school. Her teaching concerned the life, death and resurrection of the god Osiris. It was presented in the form of theatrical acts or, more precisely, ritual dramas. Only people who had proved their sincere thirst for knowledge could the Ausiric myths be discovered. Over the centuries, the rite of passage in these schools has become even more complicated. Their mystical studies became more closed and began to take place exclusively in temples, a large number of which were built for this purpose. The Rosicrucian Tradition has brought to us that the most revered among the initiates was the pyramid complex at Giza. And contrary to what historians claim, these pyramids were never the tombs of the pharaohs. They were places of mystical pursuits and initiations.

The initiation included the rite of symbolic death of the candidate. Placed in a sarcophagus and brought into a state of detachment of consciousness, he could feel for a moment the separation of soul and body. This division was intended to prove to him his duality. After which he took a solemn oath to devote his entire life to mysticism, gaining the inner confidence that the goal of human life is the perfection of the soul on the path of earthly incarnation. By swearing an oath, he gained access to the most secret knowledge that could be available to a mortal.

Initiates of Ancient Egypt imprinted some of their knowledge on the walls of temples and on numerous papyri. Another, no less important part of it was secretly passed from mouth to mouth. The famous Egyptologist E.A. Wallis Budge speaks with respect in one of his works on the mystery schools. Here is what he writes on this subject: "In these" mysteries "there must have been a gradual development, and some of them seem to have been completely unknown during the period of the Old Kingdom. There is no doubt that these mysteries were part of the Egyptian rituals, and in this case, it can be argued that the Order, raised by the priests of Keri-Hebs, possessed secret esoteric knowledge jealously kept by the Teachers. Each of them, if I understand the obvious correctly, possessed gnosis, that is, the highest knowledge that was never trusted written expression, but they directly expanded or reduced its field of action, according to the circumstances. Therefore, it would be absurd to look in the Egyptian papyri for a description of the secrets that make up the esoteric knowledge of Keri-Hebs. "

Pharaohs are mystics

Pharaoh Thutmose III (1504 - 1447 BC) united all initiates into a single brotherhood, the rules and foundations of which are embodied today in the D.M.O.R.K. During the ceremony when KeriHebs was appointed to inherit the throne of his father, he experienced a mystical revelation proving that he was supposed to become the Grand Master of the secret brotherhood. Rosicrucian tradition says that he felt "ascended" to heaven and thus proved his cosmic chosenness. Thanks to the rules established by Thutmose III, this brotherhood, whose members worked in various mystery schools, each of which had its own charter, became a real mystical Order with a single code.

Almost seventy years later, Pharaoh Amenhotep IV was born in the royal palace of Thebes, who became the most enlightened man of his time. Adopted very early in the secret Order, he was so imbued with his teachings that he changed his former name, calling himself Akhenaten, which means "close to Aton" or "glory to Aton". In Egypt, he initiated a radical transformation in the field of religion, culture and art. Challenging the priests of Amun, he first declared that God is one, and this was said in an era when polytheism reigned everywhere. He devoted his entire life to fighting the darkness of ignorance and spreading the mystical ideals of the Order. Shortly after his death in 1350 BC. NS. The Theban priests restored the cult of Amun, but the case of Akhenaten had already become part of history.

Spread of the Order in the West

From Egypt the Order spread to Greece through the ancient Greek philosophers Thales and Pythagoras (7th and 6th centuries BC), then to Italy under the influence of Plotinus (203 - 270). In the era of Charlemagne (742 - 814), thanks to the philosopher Arno, the Order penetrated France, and then Germany, England and the Netherlands. Over the next centuries, alchemists and Templars (templars) contributed to the spread of the Order in the East and West. Due to the restriction of freedom of conscience, at times he had to hide under various names. However, in all eras and in all countries, he did not stop his activities, spreading his ideals and teachings, directly or indirectly participating in the development of art, science and civilization as a whole, always proclaiming gender equality and the true brotherhood of people.

A brief explanation is appropriate here. Often, in close connection with the history of Rosicrucianism, the name of "Christian Rosenkreuz" (1378-1484) is mentioned as the founder of the Order, from which it is concluded that the Order appeared only in the 14th century. This is a delusion. In fact, when the moment came in each country favorable for the revival of the Order, the necessary actions were taken to publish a manifesto or proclamation announcing the opening of the "grave" where the "body" of the Grand Master of the KKK rested, along with rare values and manuscripts that gave the right to those who opened them start a new cycle of activity of the Order. This announcement was an allegorical act, and the real face was not hidden behind the initials "KRK". They were a symbolic title given to some of the leaders of the Order. It is in the light of these explanations that the story of the legendary Christian Rosenkreutz should be taken.

Cyclic revival

In the 17th century, the Order became most famous after the publication and wide distribution of the treatise Fama Fraternitatis, which was later mistakenly attributed to Valentin Andrea (1586 - 1b54). This treatise actually represented one of the elements of preparation for the next cycle of activity of the Order, which, following its own law, after an eight-year period of activity, leaves the stage in order to resume its social activities in one hundred and eight years. During one of these periods, the Order became officially known as the Order of the Rose and Cross.

In 1693, Rosicrucian settlers from many European countries, led by Grand Master Johannes Calpius (1673 - 1708), reached the New World aboard the Sarah Mary. In early 1694, they settled in Philadelphia. Several years later, some of them moved to the south of Pennsylvania, establishing a new colony. Having created their own printing house, they published a large number of masterpieces of mystical literature, and it was thanks to these European Rosicrucians that the true teachings of the Rose and the Cross spread to America. Under his influence, many American political institutions were born and science and art developed unprecedentedly in the United States. Famous personalities such as Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826) and Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) worked closely with these Rosicrucians.

The modern cycle of D.M.O.R.K.

In 1801, in accordance with the established rules, the Order entered the period of silence in the United States. However, he remained active in Germany, France, Russia and the East. In 1909, Dr. Harvey Spencer Lewis traveled to France to obtain information about the Order there. For several years he studied metaphysics and esotericism there. After passing many exams and tests, he was able to meet with one of the French leaders of the Order. Some time later he received initiation in Toulouse and was officially commissioned to prepare the revival of the Order in America.

When everything was ready for this, the brochure "Ancient Mystical Order of the Rose and the Cross (DMORK)" served as a manifesto announcing a new cycle of the Order's activity. In accordance with the charter, the Supreme Council of the Order in the United States proclaimed Dr. Lewis Emperor, and he successfully fulfilled his mission, spreading the traditional knowledge of the Order and in every possible way developing its activities within the limits of his jurisdiction. After the death of Harvey Spencer Lewis in 1939, his son Ralph Maxwell Lewis was appointed Emperor. After World War II, Order leaders in Europe decided to apply the teaching methodology adopted by the Order in the United States around the world. Currently D.M.O.R.K. is the sole custodian of the Rosicrucian tradition in countries where its activities are permitted by law.

Currently, the highest official of the Ancient Mystical Order of the Rose and Cross is Christian Bernard, elected at the Supreme Council. According to this title, he is the guarantor of the Rosicrucian Tradition in all countries of the world.

ROSENCRUISE: The Order of the Rosicrucians, the Rosicrucians, the Order of the Rose and the Cross is a secret theological mystical society founded in the late Middle Ages in Germany by Christian Rosicrucian. Contains teachings "built on ancient esoteric truths" that "are hidden from the common man, provide an understanding of nature, the physical universe and the spiritual realm", which is symbolized by the emblem of brotherhood - a rose blooming on the cross. The Rosicrucians set the task of improving the Church and achieving the prosperity of states and people. 1607-1616 published two manifestos Fama Fraternitatis RC (Glory of the RC Brotherhood) and Confessio Fraternitatis (Worship of the RC Brotherhood). Under their influence, representing the "most revered Order" of mystical-philosopher-scientists, spreading the "worldwide reformation of humanity", a movement arose called Francis Yates "the Rosicrucian Enlightenment." Rosicrucianism was associated with Protestantism and Lutheranism (pictured is one of the founders of Protestantism, Martin Luther).

Historian David Stevenson says Rosicrucianism influenced the development of Freemasonry in Scotland. For centuries, the Secret Societies have claimed to have received their succession and ordinances from the original Rosicrucians. Several modern Societies, founded in the early centuries, were formed to investigate Rosicrucianism.

PURPOSES AND OBJECTIVES: Dressing its teaching in the toga of "pure mysticism", the Rosicrucian order seeks to introduce: 1. Symbolic denigration of Christianity and the exaltation of ancient Judeo-Kabbalistic teachings. 2. Hatred of Christ the Savior and His teaching. 3. The eradication of this teaching by ascribing to it a secret naturalistic meaning. 4. The blasphemous reckoning of Christ among the “great initiates” who secretly, and only for a select few, openly preach a religion completely alien to Christianity, which is only a “physiological fact”. The fulfillment of the ideal of the Rosicrucian order must ultimately become the complete victory of militant Judaism over Christianity. (part of a photo from the book "The Secret Figures of the Rosicrucians" Port Royal, 2008)

FROM CHRISTIANITY TO WITCHCRAFT: The diverse groups with the "Rosicrucian tradition" can be divided into 3 categories: esoteric-Christian Rosicrucian (professing Christ), Masonic Rosicrucian societies, (Societas Rosicruciana et al.) And Initiatory societies (Golden Dawn Rosa and Ancient Crucis, etc.). Esoteric Christian Rosicrucian societies contain esoteric knowledge related to the inner teaching of Christianity. In 1909 he creates the Rosicrucian Brotherhood and establishes headquarters in Oceanside, California. In the same year, the fundamental work Cosmoconcept of the Rosicrucians was published, containing a universal diagram of the evolutionary processes of man and the Universe. The teaching contains mysteries in the form of esoteric knowledge. The Brotherhood trains the individual by developing mind and heart in a spirit of service to humanity and inclusive altruism. The Rosicrucian Order was founded in 1313 and consisted of 12 Exalted, gathered around the thirteenth, Christian Rosicrucian. These great Adepts have already advanced far beyond the cycle of rebirth; their mission is to prepare the whole world for a new step in religion, containing awareness of the inner worlds and subtle bodies, and to provide safe guidance in the gradual awakening of the latent spiritual abilities of man over the next centuries, for the coming of the Age of Aquarius, when all nations will unite in universal Brotherhood. In the list below, you can see Hermetic societies, alchemical societies, etc.

ROSE AND CROSS: The Rosicrucian symbol is a golden cross with a rose (see first photo). The cross, as explained by the Rosicrucians, signifies the sanctity of the union; rose - a symbol of modesty; both terms together mean holy humility. But such an interpretation is given either for those uninitiated into the highest secrets of the order, or for outsiders. The researcher of this issue Nikolai Skrynnikov explains the combination of a cross and a rose in the following way: “The mysterious meaning of a rose as a symbol must be sought in Kabbalistic explanations. The flame, or the book of Abraham (commentaries on Kabbalah), made the rose a hieroglyphic sign of the accomplishment of a great work. To unite the rose with the cross, paganism with Christianity, falsely understood, was the task proposed by the high Initiate; and in fact, occult philosophy, being a universal synthesis, must explain all the phenomena of being. Religion, taken into account only as a physiological fact, is the manifestation and saturation of the soul. " (Nikolay Skrynnikov. Freemasonry. Paris. 1921)

HISTORY IN MOSCOW: By conviction, the Rosicrucians fit into the philosophy of the Masonic movement, and acted more often inside the Masonic lodges, it is not easy to separate the Rosicrucians from the Masons. Often the concepts of "Rosicrucians" and "Masons" are perceived as synonyms, and the history of the Rosicrucians in Moscow almost merges with the Masonic one. The activity in Russia of "real Rosicrucians", who are recognized by most researchers, is limited to ten years at the end of the 18th century. In 1782, the first Russian "branch" of the Rosicrucians appeared in Moscow. It was led by the German Schwartz. The basis and leadership of the Rosicrucians in Moscow were the Germans as spiritual teachers who were to prepare a replacement from the Russians. In 1 year, this branch - the Order of the "Golden Rose Cross" acted within the framework of the Masonic lodges. Were selected people interested in the teachings of the Rosicrucians. They applied for admission to the main Rosicrucian society in 1783. The Russian Rosicrucians (to which the thinker and publicist Nikolai Ivanovich Novikov belonged) simply did not have time to get down to serious activity. First, Schwartz died in 1784, and in 1787 virtually all German "instructors" left Russia. A couple of years later, Catherine II took up the fight against Freemasonry and other secret societies. The Rosicrucians suffered the most. Their printing houses were destroyed, literature destroyed. Novikov was imprisoned in the Shlisselburg fortress, other Rosicrucians were expelled from Moscow. By 1792, the activities of the undoubted Rosicrucians in Russia had ended. But some supporters of the Rosicrucian doctrine in Moscow were in the 19th century, but they acted within the framework of the Masonic lodges.

In the USSR: The pre-revolutionary and revolutionary years were the time when the existing secret societies showed themselves, and new ones appeared. The name "Rosicrucians" surfaced in Russia, but they had a relative relation to the real Rosicrucians, there was no connection between the international Rosicrucian society and these. The early 20th century Russian "Rosicrucians" were theorists who used the name. From 1916 to 1933 there was the Order of the Moscow Rosicrucians-Manicheists, the occult movement 1925-1929, the Rosicrucian Order of the Amish Redevius. Preserved documents about the society of Boris Mikhailovich Zubakin in 1912 "Spiritual Brotherhood Lux Astralis". Zubakin was not called true Rosicrucians, but rather followers of Rosicrucians. He tried to combine Christian and philosophical principles in one, declared the immortality of the soul in the mystical and physical terms (the soul as a bearer of light, etc.). The Spiritual Brotherhood Lux Astralis lasted until 1937, when Zubakin was arrested as the founder of a fascist organization and anti-Soviet activities. In 1938 Zubakin was shot. MODERN ROSENCRUISERS: It is not entirely clear what the Rosicrucians themselves represent in the modern world, who should be considered “reference Rosicrucians”. There are two large Rosicrucian organizations operating in Russia. The first is the Russian-language section of the "Ancient Mystical Order of the Rose and Cross" (DMORK), the motto of which is "The broadest tolerance with the strictest independence." The society appeared in the Soviet Union in the mid-1970s. The second, more serious one, is the International School of the Golden Rosy Cross. Since the 1990s, its Russian branch has been registered as the Philosophical Society of the Followers of the Rosenkreuz.

SCHOOL OF THE GOLDEN ROSENCRANE: The number of followers in Russia is several hundred people. Temple services are their own special rituals. The main focus is on propaganda among the younger generation. In St. Petersburg, once a month, classes are held with two groups of children of the Young members of the School of the Golden Rosy Cross, mainly children of adult members of the society. Introduce the basic concepts of the Gnostic teaching with the help of allegorical fairy tales. The main center of Lectorium Rosicrucianum is located in Haarlem in Holland. After 1945, the Rosenkreuz Spiritual School began to expand outside Holland. At first, the School's branches were formed in Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, France, and later in Spain, England, Italy, Poland, Hungary and Russia. The founders of the school, brothers Zvir Willem Leene (1892 - 1938) and Jan Leene (1896 - 1968). The oddity: the school's official website says: "Being very different in temperament and inclinations, Jan and Willem Leene complemented each other perfectly in their search for a truly Christian life position." But in the next paragraph we see the following: "Apparently, even in their youth, the brothers realized that they were given a special spiritual task. Good prerequisites for its fulfillment were created in the 19th-20th centuries by Elena Petrovna Blavatsky, Rudolf Steiner and Max Handel." But everyone has long known that the teachings of Blavatsky and Christianity are polar opposites. You cannot be a Christian, but be inspired by an anti-Christian teaching. It's kind of strange ... In Moscow, meetings are held at the address: 2nd Kvesisskaya st., 9 or Izmailovskoe shosse, 71k2B. Hotel complex "Izmailovo", building "Beta", hall 7. Postal address: 109189 Moscow, st. Nikoloyamskaya, 1. The address of the society itself is hidden on their official website.

ANSWER OF THE PATRIARCH: The question was asked to Metropolitan Kirill in 2009: "Your Eminence, what is the official position of the Russian Orthodox Church in relation to Freemasonry and, in particular, in relation to the Grand Lodge and the Rosicrucian Society operating in Russia. These organizations are registered with the justice authorities, but how their ROC: as sects, denominations, public organizations or as associations, in their spirit contrary to Christianity? "

Answer: "The Russian Orthodox Church does not prohibit its children from joining various kinds of public organizations, but they should not bear the character of secret societies. Often such organizations assume exclusive subordination to their leaders, a conscious refusal to disclose the essence of the organization's activities to the Church hierarchy and even in confession. The Church cannot approve of the participation in societies of this kind of Orthodox laity, and even more so of priests, since by their very nature they alienate a person from complete devotion to the Church of God and its canonical order. "

PELICAN: The Pelican became the symbol of the Rosicrucians ("Pelican Knights") in the 15th century. According to the ancients, the pelican feeds the chicks with its own blood (apparently, the observation of the pelican, from whose goiter the chicks ate fish, and people decided that the chicks, putting their beaks in their parents' mouth, eat their insides, led to this idea). The Biblical Encyclopedia of Nicephorus, 1891: "The pelican has a sack at the bottom of its beak, from which it feeds itself and its young, which is why it is believed that it breaks its chest and feeds its chicks with its own blood." In medieval "bestiaries": "The mother caresses the chicks with her beak and claws so zealously that she kills them. Three days later, the father appears and, in despair from the death of the offspring, tears his chest with his own beak. The blood from his wounds resurrects dead chicks. " Since Christ also feeds his children with his blood, resurrecting them for "eternal life", then already in the III-IV century an association with a pelican arose. Hence the "resurrection in three days" in the "bestiaries". Dante in "Paradise" refers to the Apostle John as the one who "reclining with our Pelican, nestled to his chest." There are also Hindu roots for this symbol. "The symbol of Hamsa (I, He, Goose or Swan) is a symbol of Divine Wisdom. For all exoteric purposes, Hamsa is a legendary bird who, when given milk mixed with water, separated them by drinking milk and leaving water, showing that its inherent wisdom is milk, being a symbol of spirit, and water of matter. The same Blavatsky says: "" Swan or Goose "(Hamsa) is a symbol of the male or temporary Deity, Brahma. Hence the election by the Rosicrucians as their symbol of a water bird - a swan or a pelican - with seven chicks; a symbol modified and adopted in the religion of each country. "At Lautréamont:" When a weary pelican feeds his hungry children with his own flesh, although no one sees his great sacrifice, except for the Almighty, who created him so selfless as a reproach to people - this can be understood ... "(" Songs of Maldoror "). Another legend. It was believed that pelekan chicks, hatching, begin to peck at their parents. They break down and kill the chicks. But then from grief they wound themselves and resurrect children with their blood. Pelekan was a symbol of God, who with the blood of His Son saved mankind.

ANTI-CHRISTIAN WORK: In its anti-Christian work, the HSML finds a powerful ally in a special offshoot of world Freemasonry - Rosicrucianism. As stated above, all secret organizations like Freemasonry have one definite purpose and one general direction. This goal is the seizure and enslavement of the world under the rule of the Great International, to which both Freemasonry and related organizations depend and are unconditionally subordinate. The struggle goes in different ways, but the unifying goal is one. Masonic lodges are fighting mainly for the seizure of political influence and power in states, while the Rosicrucians, Theosophists, etc., are fighting for the corruption of the spiritual and moral world of mankind and destroy the main basis of life - religion. The proximity of Freemasonry and Rosicrucianism is not denied by either the Freemasons or the Rosicrucians, and the latter, i.e. the Rosicrucians, say that Freemasonry is a branch of Rosicrucianism with a bias towards politics and materialism, but that it is very easy for Freemasons to return to the true path, i.e. The path of Rosicrucianism. Freemasons consider Rosicrucianism to be an offshoot of Freemasonry with a bias towards mysticism. In the Masonic order, the Rosicrucians are the 18th degree of initiation. “Since the first degrees of Freemasonry,” says the Freemason Louis Blanc, “included many people who, in their position and views, were negative about any project of social revolution, the reformers of Freemasonry multiplied the steps of the mystical ladder along which initiates could ascend; they created behind-the-scenes lodges intended for ardent souls, they established the highest degrees: the Chosen Knights of the Sun, the Strict Obedience, the Kalosh or the reborn man, and the Rosicrucians. " The word Rosicrucian means a combination of two words: Rose and Cross. Over time, in order to mislead the profane (uninitiated) and for the convenience of work, it was deemed necessary to separate Rosicrucianism into an independent organization. Thus, the degree of Rosicrucianism in Freemasonry remained as before, and completely separate Rosicrucian orders arose in different parts of the world. Rosicrucianism has a long history of origin. The Order or Brotherhood of the Rosicrucians (Rosy Cross), as the legend says, was founded in the XIV century by the nobleman Christian Rosenkreuz, who, during his travels in the East, learned all the secrets of the Persian and Egyptian magicians and upon his return to Europe passed these secrets to his disciples with whom he formed secret society. The historical origin of the Rosicrucian Order dates back to the 17th century, and Johann Valentin Andrei is called its initiator. The goal of the Rosicrucian order was the "improvement of the church" and the spiritual rebirth of man. The Rosicrucians, at the direction of Masonic literature, were "free thinkers" who "began to clear the way through the forest of church scholasticism and fanaticism," that is, in plain language, they took the path of fighting the church. “Of them, the Rosicrucians,” says the Masonic writer Nys, “emerged as innovators in the field of thought, bold theories were associated with their teachings, the official orthodox science often even summarized its condemnation, calling Rosicrucian a bold thinker who refused to bow to dogmas. Here a battle was fought between dialectics and experience, and the latter had to overthrow the former for the triumph of progress. Here religious fanaticism and tolerance came face to face. The Rosicrucians claimed a claim to communion with God through nature. " (E. Nys. The main features of modern Freemasonry) After a certain lull in the 18th century, at the beginning of the 19th century, the Rosicrucians developed increased activity and by the end of the 19th century acquired a large number of supporters. Around 1900 in Germany prof. Rudolf Steiner opens his Rosicrucian school. Steiner from 1902 to 1912 worked with Annie Besant and Leadbeater in the Theosophical Society, among the purely initiated. In 1912 Steiner left the Theosophical Society, established his own special Anthroposophical Society and built a magnificent temple near Basel. In the Anthroposophical Society, Steiner organized an internal circle called "Frank-Freemasonry", the initiates of which received from his hands a gold cross with a rose. Steiner's lectures were in some way an introduction to the Rosicrucian system. Steiner's popularity grew very quickly, and his followers began to regard him as a prophet. Under the influence of Steiner's teachings, Rosicrucian groups, societies and commonwealths arise in America, England and, finally, penetrate into Russia through a close student of Rudolf Steiner A.R. Mintslova, who was sent from foreign Rosicrucians to propagate among Russian "God-seekers" communication. At the turn of the 20th century, the center of Rosicrucianism, the "Ancient Mystical Order of the Rosen-Kreutzers," ended up in America, and since then all data on the work of the main organs of this secret world organization have been connected with this latter. Rosicrucian von Ginkel, in his preface to the Dutch translation of Christian Rohenkreutz, says: “The present Order of the Brothers of the Cross and Rose is a spiritually enlightened community scattered throughout the world, but led by one. This order possesses one central school of the true Mysteries and many outer schools, which in various ways prepare the way for the central school. " I will add to this the words br. Wittemans. He says that Rosicrucianism favors the formation of various free groups around itself, with their own goals and guided by various considerations, personal or depending on local national conditions. The Rosicrucian movement, according to him, is very diverse in its manifestations, while the very brotherhood of the Cross of the Rose, observing the traditions established by its founder, works mostly in secret, without making any calls to neophytes. Such a course of action does not harm the dissemination of the ideas of the order, but, on the contrary, prepares the ground for the gathering of an abundant spiritual harvest in the future. (History of the Rose of the Cross, p. 176. Count Grabe. The Roots of Church Troubles, p. 13). The Rosicrucian Order, like everything else involved in Freemasonry, is a deeply conspiratorial organization. Keeping the secrets of the order is a sacred duty of every member. “Silence and restraint are the hallmarks of a true mystic,” and this rule must be followed by every true Rosicrucian. The recruitment of new members to the order takes place among those interested in mysticism and questions of philosophy and occultism. Disappointed people, crushed by everyday failures, also get into the order, hoping to find support and answers to their spiritual doubts and experiences. A significant role in attracting new members is played by the well-known romanticism, the desire and desire to get into a secret organization, which supposedly has tremendous strength, knowledge and the ability to lead its members to goodness and true light. Many finally go for money or a career. This type of Rosicrucians, who are ready to sell for money or a warm place of their God, Motherland, conscience and honor, is widespread among the morally depressed part of the Russian emigration. The official task of the order is the spiritual improvement of the members, the penetration of their higher knowledge and work to promote the knowledge of the order and apply this knowledge for the benefit of mankind. The Rosicrucian Order does not recognize any religious distinction. Persons of all religions can join the order. Positive religions, such as the Orthodox Faith, are not only indifferent to the Rosicrucians, but definitely hostile, since every true Rosicrucian fights for "truth without dogmatism." The Rosicrucian Order's notion of God differs sharply from the Christian notion and is pure pantheism. One of the prayers of the Rosicrucians begins with the address: "Oh, you, the Great Reason, penetrating everything, imparting being into every substance."

ROSES OF THE ROSENCRUISERS: The Rosicrucian Lodge is called the "Supreme Chapter." On one of its sides (east) is a triangular altar. Below the altar is a painting depicting Calvary with three crosses. There is nothing on the two side crosses, but on the middle one there is an inscription that was on the cross of Jesus Christ. Below the inscription is a rose. In the lower part of the picture, there is a grave in which a shroud is visible from under a shifted gravestone. There are broken columns near the grave. Sleeping guards are on them. The ceremonial ceremony of initiation into the Rosicrucian degree, developed several centuries ago, is usually performed on Good Friday. “During the ceremony of dedication to the 18th degree, that is, the knight of the Rosy Cross,” writes Filosofov, “the bed is upholstered in black, in the depths of it an altar rises, and above it, in a transparent picture, three crosses are depicted, of which one can see the usual inscription IN K. I. The brothers, clothed in priestly garments, should sit on the ground, with an air of deep reflection and lamentation, with their faces down on their hands as a sign of grief. Venerable (master of the lodge) asks: "What time is it?" To this the new initiate must answer: "Now we have the first hour of the day, the very minute in which the curtain of the temple was torn in two, in which darkness and despair covered the whole earth, the light was reflected, the weapon of the Frank-Masons was crushed and the flaming star disappeared." Then the adept is explained that the Adoniram word (Adoniram is the builder of the Solomon's temple) was lost at the moment when the death of the Savior took place on the cross, and, in turn, they demand that the adept explain to them what, in his opinion, the inscription above the cross could mean. "I.М.К.I." Having forced to pronounce the blasphemy against this sacred name, which consists in the solemn recognition of Christ the Savior - a criminal who deserves damnation and execution, the Venerable exclaims with joy: "Brothers, now we have found the lost word!" (A. D. Filosofov. Exposing the great secret of Frank-Freemasonry, pp. 68, 69.) For the insufficiently initiated and outsiders, this rite is explained in this way: the inconsolable grief of the participants, the mourning drapery, the words of the venerable about the "lost word" the stars "and the darkness that announced the earth, depict Golgotha; Brothers-Masons, when performing the rite of initiation into the degree of Rosicrucian, as explained to the profane, mourn the suffering and death of the Savior on the cross; the transformation of the lodge from a mourning lodge into a fiery red, flooded with lights, must be understood as glorification and joy on the occasion of the Resurrection of Christ. (pictured, the candidate in front of the door to the Rosicrucian Temple)

But these explanations, like everything else in Freemasonry, are pretense and deception: the participants in this blasphemous rite do not mourn the death of the Savior in their mourning box and rejoice at His Resurrection when, having removed the black draperies, they illuminate the red box with a bright light. “They,” writes IA Butmi, “mourn the collapse of the ancient false teachings, cast down to dust by the triumph of divine truth, which was initiated by the death of the Savior on the cross. In their eyes, the glowing dawn of Christianity was the beginning of the kingdom of darkness, superstition and ignorance. And that is why they sadly exclaim that the word is lost, the columns and tools and the cube stone (the emblem of nature) oozes blood and water. " They rejoice to gain the lost word. They rejoice when they find the word I.M.K.I. And these words, in their understanding, mean: "nature is wholly reborn by fire." “In other words,” writes Boutmy, “they welcome those false teachings, that religion of nature, which was destroyed by the triumphant truth of Christian teaching, but which was revived again in Freemasonry and is sacredly preserved there as the highest truth, as a secret teaching intended only for the elect”. The Rosicrucian Order not only preaches the religion of pantheism (the destruction of the personality of God), but is also an anti-Christian organization. The Rosicrucians deny the fact of the Resurrection of Christ, as Christians understand him, and they mention Christ along with Zoroaster, Buddha, etc., as one of the avatars - the highest incarnations, called to lead the world.

INTERNATIONAL NETWORK: During the nineteenth century and early twentieth century, many societies imitated the Rosicrucians. Christian Rosicrucian-oriented societies include:

  • Anthroposophical Society, 1912
  • Lectorium Rosicrucianum, 1924
  • Archaeosophical Society, 1968

Freemason Rosicrucian formations providing training through direct teaching and / or through the practice of symbolic-initiatory travel:

  • Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia, 1866, in Scotia (SRIS; Scotland), in Civitatibus Foederatis (MSRICF / SRICF; USA) etc. This Masonic Esoteric Society republished the Rosicrucian manifestos in 1923. A well-known member is Arthur Edward Waite.

According to some Masonic writers, the Order of the Rose of the Cross clarifies the main Christian literary work that shaped the subsequent spiritual views of Western civilization, the Divine Comedy (1307-1321) by Dante Alighieri. Initiative societies that follow a degree system in teaching and contain initiations:

  • The Rosicrucian Order, AMORC, founded in the USA in 1915
  • Rosicrucian Order of the Golden Dawn, an Order based in California.

Chronological list of societies founded for the study of Rosicrucianism and related topics. Many of these societies typically claim a direct lineage from the early branches of the ancient Rosicrucian Order in England, France, Egypt, and elsewhere. However, some groups speak of spiritual affiliation with the true and invisible Rosicrucian Order. Note that there are other Rosicrucian societies not listed here. Some do not use the word "Rosicrucian" in their own name. Some of the groups listed may be disbanded or inactive.
