Reader question:

Increasingly, people have a question ... a bewildered question: WHY DO CHILDREN DIE?
Why, for no apparent reason, unexpectedly for everyone in good families, do children and adolescents commit suicide? Why do children drown, die in accidents? And not only for adults it becomes a shock, but also for children (although they perceive death a little differently than we do). What is it: the work of the NP or all the karmic workouts, or maybe the influence of third-party connections that affect the suicide of children?

And yet the main question to which you want to get an answer is WHY DO CHILDREN DIE?

The question is delicate, therefore, when reading the answer, please do not get hung up on the details, do not level everything with the same size, do not look for the guilty ones and do not paint in good / bad. The topic can be expanded into a whole book with examples, general rules, exceptions, and so on. However, there is one single rule: usually different, and I recommend sticking to it.

Let's start with the basics:

Why do people die at all?

A confluence of MANY circumstances, the main one of which is a practiced lesson for implementation, but there are others, incl. reluctance of the soul to continue to go through earthly lessons, a conceived experience, a lesson for loved ones, various mistakes and omissions (e.g., inattention to road rules and fingers in the socket), wear and tear on the body, etc. Solitary psychological trauma and / or constant stress lead to illness and are usually the root causes of the soul's decision to leave the earthly shell.

Contrary to popular belief, the souls of children are as experienced and as responsible for themselves as the souls of adults, and sometimes even more, especially now. If they leave the material world earlier than our expected date, this does not mean that this was not decided by them in advance. Nothing happens just like that, accidents are not accidental, they are unconscious patterns.

Why do babies cry?

Because they remember what a difficult path they face, remember life "there" and do not at all anticipate another immersion in material reality, although they understand that they themselves have signed up for it. Their connection with the subtle world is still preserved until a certain age and the memory of their tasks () is still open.

In addition, children are strong empaths, they feel tension in space and the psychophysical state of loved ones. First of all, they feel parental tension and stress in any form, as well as the very environment around them, which often leaves much to be desired, especially in large cities. in our time, many give birth "on the fly" and often, the child is extremely bitter from the very beginning, thereby prompting the soul to look for a way out.

As our studies of childhood diseases have shown, the disease often develops due to the inattention of the soul itself when choosing a body or tasks before incarnation. The selected conditions turn out to be too difficult, especially if the genus was heavily fined and its branch needs to be pulled out, to work off the karma of the ancestors. Usually, the lack of experience of the physical worlds plays here, but there are also enough deceptive ways, although at some of the levels the lesson was still discussed. I will publish the results of the study later, but for now

Practical example:

A 54-year-old woman came to the session. She was the last of three triplet sisters, one of whom left this world during childbirth, and the second by the age of 4 developed a brain disease (now I do not remember what exactly), which prevented her from developing normally, which led to early leaving at 45 ( 9 years before the session).

During pregnancy, due to the triple load, it was not clear whether their mother would survive, and she actually almost died in childbirth, miraculously surviving. However, then, within 10 months, their father left the cancer. You can imagine the situation. The ward wanted to know why it happened, what the punishment was.

It turned out that all 5 mentioned (souls of parents and children) usually incarnate together as a family. At the same time, their lesson for this life was as follows: children had to live life with only one parent.

Thus, according to the original plan, the mother really had to go to another world during childbirth, but at the family council up there, for their own reasons, it was decided that the father would leave, their roles changed.

The soul of the first child (who left as an infant at the entrance to incarnation) did not want to go through such a traumatic experience and withdrew until it was too late, until it completely entered the physical world and closed the connection with the subtle.

The second sister, who left 9 years ago, decided to teach herself an extra-hard lesson with the development of the disease, and thus leave a special stamp about this incarnation, so that such complex scenarios would not be repeated more. With all this, it was three sisters who had to choose which of the parents should leave ...

Abortion and medicine:

Q: If something happened to a woman during pregnancy and she lost a child, what happens to his soul? Does it stay that way, is it waiting in the wings or is it born to other parents?

The very concept of medicine in our world is extremely controversial. In fact, it does not heal (does not solve the root-cause problem and does not restore integrity), but only removes the symptoms, thereby prolonging the life of the body of the soul, which through illness must realize its lesson, or has completely decided to leave physics for its own reasons. This raises a lot of controversial ethical issues, which we will consider later.

And in conclusion, we will consider the concept of "death" using the example of what we call murder, from:

Imagine the situation:

You are the soul of the energetic world, without a body, omnipresent, omnipotent, immortal. You have long experienced all possible options for development in your own reality and you want adventures to that very fifth point, which you "did not have" at all (time does not exist in these worlds).

You are invited to descend into the world of matter, find a body, a form, become limited in opportunities, and most importantly - "mortal"!

How is it, mortals? Is it possible to reach the end, to perish into nothing? - the soul will ask
-You won't try, you won't know, - they will answer her

The soul takes the offered list of options and chooses, say, Earth for its journey. Options include the experience of a mother, father, child, magician, artist, nun, priestess of love, assassin, victim, creator and destroyer, and more. But after all, going into a strange world without your own people is boring and, perhaps, fearful (although there is no fear there either, he is). Therefore, you are throwing a multidimensional vibration cry "Hey! Who is with me ?!"

We - a kindred stream responds, - We will go with you!
- I want to experience the experience of a victim, I want to know what it is like to be killed. Can you help me with this?
- We will certainly help! And then we will switch places, - a familiar light pulse vibrates
-Deal! - you answer and rush to all the bad with a newfound head.

This whole process is also preceded by separation from, awareness of oneself as an individualized particle of the Absolute, the development of the necessary vibrational characteristics, structuring and much more.

And now, imagine you are on Earth! The local soul kindergarten opens its doors for you and allows you to go the much desired path. Your physical body is being killed by an old friend from your spiritual family, although you do not remember him, in order to get the most "real" experience. Later, having met with your "former" killer somewhere on a lilac cloud of cosmic emanations, you discuss how you felt at the moment of losing your most important, as you thought all your life, property - the body. And then it turns out that you have dozens of bodies, if not millions. So is it worth it to be sad one by one ...

Attention question: can you blame the one who volunteered to help you get through this much-desired experience?

Love your children and do not be afraid of anything. This is all that is needed for their long, vibrant and joyful life.

PS:

The world is full of contradictions and, of course, for the parents of a departed child, all these explanations will be an empty ring, if not an insult.

However, let's look at the situation from this side:

When we send children to the kindergarten, they cry and rush home with all their might, for them this is a HUGE trauma, comparable to death, and no intelligible explanation usually works. But parents KNOW that it will be better for the child, he will learn to communicate in society, find new friends, etc. (we omit horror stories about bad educators, mandatory vaccinations, etc.). They do not know about our "good" goals, they consider parting evil, and we ourselves are traitors. But we are more experienced and "know better!", Aren't we? So can we be angry with the world for the fact that it teaches us lessons that we do not fully understand at this stage, because we are also just children?

In nature, there is the concept of apoptosis - a regulated process of programmed cell death. Old cells die off to make room for new ones. This process is fractally manifested at all levels of our reality, simply in a more complex interweaving of cause-and-effect interactions. Is it good or bad?

You can't just take and divide everything into good / evil, as we are used to and love very much. All things are neutral and labeled by the person's ego. What is beneficial to an individual, he calls good, unprofitable - evil, especially when it comes to property (and, unfortunately, many people equate children with property). If the fox climbs into the hen house and takes the chicken away, this is bad for the chicken, for its owner, but good for the hungry foxes who need to survive. This is the first information layer.

On the second layer, the owner will finally seal a hole in the fence and save the rest of the chickens from possible death, and the victim of the fox's arbitrariness will go into a new incarnation as a being of a higher order. Patrikeevna will have to look for other ways of getting food, thereby honing her hunting skills. And such layers are MASS, the situation can be expanded ad infinitum.

"Evil" always acts in favor of good, and "good" - in favor of evil, they are inseparable like day and night, inhalation and exhalation, contraction and expansion. You can find pros and cons everywhere.

ATTENTION!

The opinions presented in this post are purely personal and presented through the prism of human perception. Other opinions may be radically opposite, for each lives in his own layer and operates with its information. Remember the parable of the three blind men examining an elephant , and you will understand the rough essence of the difficulties that can be faced in trying to explain such a delicate issue. That is why there is no common opinion ("truth") and cannot be, since even the truth of the capitalist is by definition false for the communist, as the truth of the Muslim is for the Christian and vice versa. It is highly discouraged to create the only possible and final picture of the world from the data presented. Take your own and leave someone else's, if possible without unnecessary emotions.

Reality is multidimensional, opinions about it are multifaceted. Only one or a few faces are shown here. You should not take them for the ultimate truth, because, and at each level of consciousness and. We learn to separate ours from not ours, or to extract information autonomously)

  • It is impossible to give an unambiguous answer to this question. For we do not know God's providence for every person ”Oh, the abyss of wealth and wisdom and knowledge of God! How incomprehensible are His judgments and past tracing His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who was his advisor? Or who gave Him in advance so that He should repay? For all are from Him, by Him and to Him. Glory to him forever, amen. " - exclaims the Apostle Paul (Rom. Ch. 11, v. 33, 34). The Lord loves all people equally and wants everyone to be saved. Therefore, he sends people death only in two cases: either when he sees that a person deserves the Kingdom of Heaven and is ready to pass into eternity, or when he sees that a person has become rigid in sins and will never repent or even believe in God. Therefore, the Lord takes away from him. this life of both young people and old people. This also explains why accidents, plane crashes, etc. Everything in this world is providential. The same applies to infants and all children in general. The Lord sees everything in advance (One of the properties of God is Omniscience). And if God sees that the child in the future will become an unrepentant sinner and will slide down to the abyss of hell, then He, out of His love, takes this child from this life at an early age, so that the child's soul may be blessed in the Kingdom of Heaven, and not be tormented in hell. We do not understand this and grumble, forgetting the Biblical truth that “There is another human judgment, and another judgment of God.” The Lord can take a child out of this life for another reason - to shake up and admonish proud and unbelieving parents who hoped in this life only for their strengths, connections and wealth, thinking that they have already grasped everything and they can live carefree and without sorrow until the end of their lives. And the death of a child will make them remember Eternity. And in the end, both the child and the parents who believe in God will be saved. Remember the parable of the unreasonable rich man. Jesus Christ taught: “... a person's life does not depend on the abundance of his possessions. And so that people better understand this, the Lord told the parable of the unreasonable rich man. One rich man had a good harvest in the field. And he began to reason with himself: “What should I do? I have nowhere to gather my fruits. " And, having made up his mind, he said: “This is what I will do: I will break down my granaries, and I will build new larger ones, and I will gather there all my bread and all my goods, and I will say to my soul: soul! You have a lot of good things for many years, rest, eat, drink and be merry! "But God said to him:" insane! On this night they will take your soul from you (that is, you will die); Who will get what you have prepared? ”Having finished this parable, the Lord said:“ This is the case with the one who collects treasures for himself, and does not become rich in God ”, i.e. That is, this should happen to every person who collects wealth only for himself, for his comfort and pleasure, and not for God, that is, not for good deeds pleasing to God - he does not help his neighbors and does not alleviate their suffering. Death will come to a person, and his earthly wealth will not bring his soul in the next world, in the future life, any benefit. In general, the reasons why children die can be different, because the Lord provides for each person in His own way. The book The Father of the Preacher describes the following case: The pious widow Cleopatra had a special love for the holy martyr Uar, whose body was buried by her in her possession. She built a church in his honor and wished to transfer his holy relics to it. On the day of their transfer, she especially fervently prayed to the holy martyr to take under his protection her only son, a boy of twelve years old, who was to be sent to military service. Her prayer was heard, and the martyr, indeed, became the patron saint of her son, but not in military service. It happened that the boy fell seriously ill that day and died at night. Instead of submitting to the will of the inscrutable in the ways of His Lord, Cleopatra gave herself up to great despair. She even went so far as to attribute the loss of her son to the martyr and severely reproach him. The temptation did not last long, however. Soon Saint Uar appeared to her with her son and said: “Why do you reproach me? Is it just because I took your son into the army of the Heavenly King? " Following the martyr, her son turned to her with the following words: “Why do you grieve so hopelessly, my mother? I am now led into the army of the King of Christ and together with the Angels I stand before Him, and you want me to pass from the Kingdom into poverty. " Hearing these words and seeing her son clothed in Heavenly glory, the amazed and delighted mother exclaimed: "Oh, if so, then take me with you!" “Be patient,” the martyr answered her, “and arrange your possessions for the glory of the Lord, and after that you yourself will come to eternal dwellings.” The vision ended, and with it Cleopatra's despair passed. After the burial of her son, she really did with the estate, as the martyr advised her, that is, distributed it to the poor, and then during the year every Sunday she was honored to see her son with the martyr Uar in angelic clothes, and then she herself died peacefully, pleasing God ... (Archpriest V. Guriev. Prologue. P. 119). Here is another case: They say that Abba Anthony, once perplexed by the depth of God's economy (government of the world) and God's judgments, prayed and said: “Lord! Why do some of people reach old age and a state of weakness, while others die in childhood and live a little? Why are some poor and others rich? Why do tyrants and villains prosper and abound in earthly blessings, while the righteous are oppressed by misfortunes and poverty? " For a long time he thought so, and there was a voice to him: “Antony! Pay attention to yourself and do not subject yourself to the investigation of the fate of God, because it is soul-damaging. " (Bishop Ignatius. Father of the Father. P. 38. No. 195). One hermit asked God to make him understand the ways of His Providence, and imposed a fast on himself. However, God did not reveal to him what he wanted to know. The monk still did not stop praying, and, finally, the Lord admonished him. When he went to an old man living far from him, an angel appeared to him in the form of a monk and offered to be a companion. The hermit was very happy with the offer, and they went on together. When the day turned to evening, they stopped for the night with a pious husband, and he received them with such honor that he even offered food on a silver platter. But what a surprise! Immediately after the meal, the Angel took the dish and threw it into the sea. The elder was perplexed, but said nothing. They went on and the next day they stayed with another, also pious man, and this one also received them with joy: he washed their feet and showed all the attention. But again the trouble! When the hermit and his companion began to get ready for the journey, the owner brought his young son to them to be blessed. But instead of a blessing, the Angel, touching the boy, took his soul. Neither the elder from horror, nor the father from despair could utter a word, and the elder ran out, and the companion, not lagging behind, followed him. On the third day of the journey, they had nowhere to stop, except for one dilapidated and abandoned house, and they took refuge in it. The elder sat down to eat the food, and the companion, to his amazement, again began a strange thing. He began to destroy the house, and having destroyed, he began to build anew. Seeing this, the elder could not bear it: “Who are you, a demon or an Angel? What are you doing? he cried angrily. - The day before yesterday he took a dish from a kind man and threw it into the sea. Yesterday he took the boy's life, but today for some reason he destroyed and started building this house again? ” Then the Angel said to him: “Do not be astonished, elder, and do not be tempted about me, but listen to what I tell you. The first husband who accepted us, indeed, acts in all things God-please, but the dish that I threw was not acquired by him in truth. That is why I abandoned him so that he would not ruin his reward. The second husband is also pleasing to God, but if his young son grew up, he would become a terrible villain; that's why I took his soul for the good of his father, so that he too would be saved. "-" Well, here, what did you do? " - asked the elder. The angel continued: “The owner of this house was an immoral man, because of this he became impoverished and left. His grandfather, having built this house, hid gold in the wall, and some know about it. That is why I ruined it, so that from that time no one would seek gold here and die through it. " The angel concluded his speech: “Return, elder, to your cell and do not be tormented without your mind, for this is how the Holy Spirit says:“ Marvelous are His fates, great is His wisdom! ” (Isa. 28:29). Therefore, do not try them, - it will not do you any good. " The angel then became invisible, and the stricken elder repented of his error and afterwards told everyone about what had happened. (Archpriest V. Guriev. Prologue. P. 200) Think about it! God bless you!

After the murder of Vasilisa Galitsina, the townspeople are seized by strong feelings of grief, pain, fear, despair and guilt, a desire for revenge on a criminal, a desire to understand why everything happened ... People do not find answers to their questions, as soon as tears come up in a lump in our throats, we are all inconsolable. Why do children die? Where does so much evil come from in the world? Is the feeling of revenge appropriate in this situation? What can anyone do now for a girl? We asked these questions to the priests of Naberezhnye Chelny, Zakamsky Deanery.

Archpriest Alexander Andrievsky, Church of Sts. indefinite Cosmas and Damian - Oryol Church:

“Many works have been written about how the existence of a good and almighty God is combined with the existence of evil and suffering in the world. In Dostoevsky's novels, for example, the theme of suffering is one of the central ones. If anyone wants to delve deeper into the problem, I can recommend reading the philosophical essay of the English writer Clive Lewis, which is called "Suffering".

In short, evil and suffering stem from the fact that God limits His Omnipotence to human freedom. Where the freedom of man begins, the power of God ends. Why He does this is another question.

What can and should we do in this situation. It is obvious that God gave us freedom, in the hope that we ourselves will arrange our life, we will put things in order in it ourselves. As someone well noted, evil takes over the world when good people do nothing to stop it. In the case of the girl Vasilisa, it can be said without exaggeration that the crime was solved thanks to the help of ordinary people.

As for the feelings of anger and indignation that grips us at the mention of such atrocities, they are quite natural and normal, but one cannot follow their lead. In anger, as it is said, a person does not create the righteousness of God. And it often happens that punishment falls on innocent people. That is why the Lord says in the Scripture “Vengeance is mine, I will repay” (Rom. 12, 19) ”.

Priest George Oparin, Holy Ascension Cathedral - Borovets Church:

The news of the terrible death of the child could not but excite every kind person. How awful it is! You need to understand, only the Lord knows how you can save us. The evil in the world comes from our sins, and each sin increases the evil in our world. And this evil is the cause of all crimes. Until we get rid of our sins, the worst crimes will be committed. Often we do not want to save ourselves voluntarily. It is not love for God, not gratitude to Him that brings us to God, to the Church, but our sorrows and misfortunes. Therefore, all calamities are directed towards our salvation.

What about revenge? Whom to take revenge on? To a sick person? And every criminal is a sick person. A sick person in a sick society. Well, we will take revenge, we will destroy. So what? Then we need to return to our sinful life. Whom to take revenge on? To yourself. After all, it is we, the so-called Orthodox, who sin and produce evil and crimes in the world. Through our indifference and indifference to sin, crimes are committed. And the best revenge for a crime is to start the path to God, the path of correcting ourselves, and through us, and correcting society.

The best we can do is pray for her. And to do a good deed for her: come to confession and correct her sins. Learn to pray to protect yourself and others. And also help other children find God.

    Priest Valery Matveev, Borovets Church:

The topic of death is difficult. And this is especially true of the death of children. It is impossible even to imagine what it was like for the girl's parents these days! Life is dense, in order to pass through a wall, it must be broken through. It is very difficult and even painful. But behind her is joy, light. This is when a person is an unbeliever, he is forced to worry, he simply has no other way to live spiritually. But God, the Church has given us much more. We have been given clarity, we have been given faith. “Peace be with you,” said the Lord. In the world we must live in clarity and trust in the Lord. The Lord will certainly grant her a blessed life in the Kingdom of Heaven. But we need to think - from what happens? Look at how many thousands of children die from abortion every year, but for some reason no one is so worried about it. Of course, it is not easy for the girl's relatives to understand and experience this. But as Paisiy Svyatorets wrote: "Parents should know that from the moment their child dies, they have a prayer book in Paradise." May the Lord grant the girl's loved ones strength of spiritual strength, and admonition to us!

    Priest Eugene Stupitsky, Borovets Church:

Death ... This word confuses a person. Man was created for eternal life, and therefore the encounter with death leads us to fear and horror. Moreover, death is violent, cruel. Although death accompanies humanity almost from the moment of its creation (the murder of his brother Abel by Cain), when faced with the manifestation of violence against a person, murder, we always come into a state of grief and indignation. And if you manage to detain the rapist, then in a state of anger, revenge. Cruelty for cruelty, tooth for tooth, eye for eye! But that was before our era. With the coming of Christ to earth, humanity received a new commandment - LOVE! He Himself showed us an example of love. He was crucified, and He prayed: “Father! forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing ”(Lk 23:34).

If we all lived in a state of love for those around us, then there would be no violence, cruelty in our lives. But why cruelty, revenge, evil more and more often settle in our hearts. And love, forgiveness is considered a sign of weakness and lack of will. The fact is that by God's will, this world is ruled by the prince of darkness - the devil. And we, in pursuit of the "joys" and "delights" of this world, fall under its influence. And thus, we voluntarily remove God from ourselves. And the devil is an unambiguous evil, just like God is Love Itself. That is, we deliberately accept evil as the norm in our lives, while rejecting love. And our popular culture, under the influence of dark forces, filled us with thrillers, detectives, action films, where the plot is the same: a cruel, sophisticated crime and no less cruel revenge. Moreover, more and more often women are becoming killers, created by God to bring love to the world through motherhood. And a person spiritually damaged by such a “culture”, having seen enough of these “spectacles”, tries to reproduce them in real life. Press reports have repeatedly flashed that this or that crime was committed according to the scenario of the next blockbuster.

Our society has long been suffering from a chronic love deficit. And there is only one cure for this disease - Christianity, with its main value: "HUMAN LIFE"! And only God gives us this life, and only He has the right to take it ... The Chelninskaya tragedy makes each of us shudder, wake up from spiritual slumber, remember who we are and why we are here. Makes you think about the education of young people, which of them will grow up? And how long can our civilization survive with a progressive deficit of love?

Orthodoxy in no way calls for the release of all criminals and murderers free, for this there is a law. Christianity calls to reconsider YOUR attitude towards the people around us in the direction of compassion, mercy and love so that there is less anger, hatred, envy in our hearts, which lead a person to crime. It is from the lack of love in each of us that our world gives rise to such killers.

Priest Roman Khramutichev, Intercession Church, Konovalovka village, Menzelinsky district:

Firstly, I would like to express my condolences to the parents, relatives and friends of the innocent murdered Vasilisa! Just like many residents of Chelny, we share with you the bitterness of the loss of your child.

The death or some kind of illness of children is sacrificial, since they are caused not by personal sins, but by the sins of their neighbors (John 9. 2). The children themselves do not realize this, but being already in eternal life, it will be revealed to them that God, through their death, suffered for their loved ones, what benefit they themselves acquired by this act of love.

Love is stronger than death - everyone knows this. True love is sacrificial. People with pure souls and children, above all, are capable of such love! This suffering can be understood and realized only with the belief that death here is not the end of life, but only the end of its serious preparatory stage for eternal life, and that suffering for others will not remain without God's great reward! And each of us should always think about what the Lord does for us and how he tries to reason with us, sometimes with such heavy sorrows!

Where does so much evil come from in the world? The whole reason is in ourselves. The fact is that our human nature is prone to sin. The Lord endowed everyone with freedom and freedom of choice. So everyone chooses for himself. Someone easily succumbs to the temptations of the devil, someone fights with him, fights with fasting and prayer. There are two paths: the first path is the true path, when a person abides with God and the grace of God always abides with him, and the second path is the path of self-will and submission to worldly vanity and passions, which lead us into the most serious sins.

Is the feeling of revenge appropriate in this situation? "If you will not forgive people their sins, then your Father will not forgive you your sins" (Matthew 6: 14-15). Words and thoughts about revenge should never arise in our minds. “Do not judge, lest you be judged” - the Lord will judge what to do with him!

What we can do? Pray for the peace of the soul of the murdered Vasilisa.

Vitaly Sidorenko, secretary of the Zakamsky deanery:

These days, all the inhabitants of our city were stirred up by the terrible news of the abduction and then the murder of an innocent eight-year-old girl Vasilisa Galitsina. Moreover, this terrible news swept the whole country and touched to the depths of the soul of every caring person. Many, after the incident, experience terrible anger towards the offender. This is very reminiscent of the Old Testament prescription "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth", which assumed bloody revenge, murder after murder dragged on in case of crimes and offenses of people. With the coming of Christ the Savior into the world and bringing us the commandment of love, we cannot allow this to happen. After all, we know how terrible bloody revenge is among those peoples for whom it has survived to the present day. Our Lord Jesus Christ calls all of us to the highest measure of love, commanding us to be guided not only by the law of justice, but also by the law of forgiveness. This principle may not fit in our minds, but only love can lead us to becoming God-like. An egregious incident in our city should become an occasion for each of us to change ourselves for the better, in order to thereby lead the entire society to a moral change.

We all know that the Lord suffered death on the Cross for our sins and iniquities. And next to Christ, two robbers were crucified for grave crimes. One of them blasphemed Christ, and the second, admitting his guilt and the righteousness of his punishment, received forgiveness from the Savior. Moreover, this robber was promised: “today you will be with Me in Paradise” (Luke 23, 43). I wish that in these difficult days we maintain our inner sobriety, and that the example of a prudent robber would open to us, as well as to many rapists and murderers, the way to salvation through sincere repentance and prayer to God: “Remember me, Lord, when you come to Your Kingdom! " (Luke 23, 42).

When a child is ill, it seems that the whole world is crumbling and the earth is leaving from under his feet. Even a banal cold of a dear child can become a reason for tears and hard feelings, not to mention more serious ailments. “If only the children are healthy, the rest will follow,” we say, sighing. But what if our hopes are not met? Where to run, what to hope for, if the dearest and dearest creature is suddenly hard or, God forbid, is hopelessly ill? Why do children get sick at all? Isn't it cruel of God to punish an innocent soul who has not yet sinned with a serious illness? What is the meaning of childhood suffering and is it possible to come to terms with it? All these questions can unsettle anyone, especially an unbeliever or someone whose faith is not yet strong enough. It is no accident that for many people external to the Church, it is the suffering of children that becomes the main argument in favor of godlessness. “If God existed, He would not allow children to get sick and die,” they say. About whether there is any sense in such statements and how not to break down, not to lose heart, if God sends such a test, we talked with the rector of the church in honor of the Nativity of Christ in Saratov Archpriest Vladimir Parkhomenko.

    Adam's legacy

Most expectant mothers take care of the health of the baby who will soon be born in advance. However, it often happens that a child is not born completely healthy. They find pathologies in him, later there are developmental delays. What is it: fate, God's punishment for some sins of dad and mom, or just a meaningless "coincidence"?

According to the teachings of the Church, any person comes into this world already painful. We, like the children of Adam and Eve, are born weighed down by infirmities. Both spiritually and physically. In this sense, a person's lot is to get sick. As the Church Fathers said, when a person is born, together with the gift of being, he receives the seed of corruption - that which will further lead to the destruction of the body.

God warned Adam about this fate - the fate of a man who had undergone the fall: “from the earth you have been born, you will return to the earth”. Unfortunately, illness is an inherent, inherent state of our nature. And already the degree of illness is determined by the Providence of God, just as it is given to a person to be born a man or a woman.

But the Providence of God also includes the active participation of man in his own life and in the lives of other people. In part, the parents themselves are to blame for the fact that children are born with certain diseases. If we take extreme examples, drug addicts give birth to a child with a damaged nature, already poisoned with poison. The same is true for alcoholics and smokers. In this case, it is quite possible to say that these are the consequences of the behavior of moms and dads.

And if the parents took care of themselves, took care of their health, and the baby was born sick anyway, how can this be explained? Is this fair?

In Soviet times, we were taught that children are not responsible for their parents. But this is nonsense, we are all connected to each other. According to the law of love, everyone is responsible for each other and influences each other. And when a child is born to healthy parents contrary to the expectations of a sick child, a birth trauma or something else similar occurs, this can also be regarded as the Providence of God. Indeed, the Lord permits the birth of deaf, blind, deaf-mute children. I would advise people who have such babies to watch the Orthodox documentary "Outpost". It shows an orphanage for sick children at one of the Ukrainian monasteries. This film is about Christian love in its highest manifestation, and this love is aimed at children with disabilities. The film shows very well and reliably how this love attracts the grace of God and heals the diseases of children. And this is not a fiction, it is the truth.

Christ Himself says that not a single hair will fall from our head without the will of the Heavenly Father. And it is quite natural that in everything that happens to a person, including children, the will of God is manifested. And we find consolation in these sufferings only in Christian teaching (for the simple reason that this consolation cannot be found anywhere else, it simply does not exist). In it, the suffering of babies is often thought of as redemptive, that is, children suffer for the sake of adults, not necessarily for their parents.

There is an example in the Gospel when Christ is asked about a blind man, why he was born that way. Who sinned: he or his parents? As you know, Christ replied that he and not his parents. This suffering serves a higher purpose - to contribute to the salvation of man. In the future life, according to Scripture, their highest meaning and the highest glory that children will receive, who have been vouchsafed to bear this cross in their earthly life, will be revealed in their entirety.

    Like angels

Some children do not live to be one year old. Accidents, illnesses, doctors' mistakes ... How can parents cope with the loss or serious illness of their baby?

    - There is a very good biblical example from the life of the greatest king and prophet David. His life is very instructive. As you know, there was a grave sin in his life when he was seduced by the beauty of Bathsheba and, in order to take possession of it, indirectly killed her husband, sending him to the most dangerous military area. Of course, he died. After that Bathsheba became formally free. David married her. Their first child is born. A little later, the baby is in a dying state. The prophet Nathan comes to David and says that the Lord will not let the child live. David repented, prayed and asked God to leave him a child, but his prayer was not heard, the baby died ...

David spent a lot of time crying, fasting and praying and subsequently accepted the baby's death as a punishment. And if the Lord does not allow the child to live on this earth, this can happen for various reasons, one of which is the sin of the parents. There is even such an indicative moment in the rite of the funeral service for infants: there is no petition for the forgiveness of sins in it, since the children did not have the opportunity to sin in their short life. Based on this attitude to the child as to a sinless creature, we can conclude that the Lord simply took him to Himself. Why he did not let him continue to live, we are not given to fully comprehend.

There is a belief among the people that children after death become angels. And this is actually the case. Dead children do not literally become angels, but have an angelic life in eternity. Perhaps they will even become prayer books for their parents, thereby contributing to their salvation as well. For parents whose faith is strong, this can be a great comfort.

It happens that a serious illness or the death of a baby turns parents to faith. And what happens, on the contrary, hardens, forcing one to fall into severe depression or even blasphemy. Why does the same event give rise to such different reactions in different people?

It all depends on a person's faith and how much he can trust God himself and trust Him with the fate of his child. An illustrative case is described in a book by an Orthodox author. He writes that he met with a certain woman who had two children. The youngest was a very devout boy, but he died at the age of 4 - 5 years. The woman grieved terribly. According to her recollections, she even fell into a murmur against God. And when the funeral was over, the priest walked away and left the Gospel. Her whole nature was drawn to take the Gospel. And taking it, she opened it just on the page where the Lord says: "Let the children come to Me" (Matt. 19:14, Mark. 10:14, Luke 18:16.) ...

Of course, the death of children or another loved one is a great grief. Christ himself wept when he saw the funeral procession and took pity on one widow. There can be only one consolation for parents here, that the Lord takes children to Himself.

Disease for the sake of salvation

There are many examples in life when completely healthy children are born in so-called dysfunctional families. And, conversely, healthy and often religious parents give birth to children with serious illnesses. How does the Church explain this paradox?

    - In such cases, as in many others, one should not forget about the mystery of God's Providence. Everyone is given their own nature, everyone has their own cross. Someone is sent serious illnesses, someone lives practically without them. In any case, whether a person is healthy or sick, this state is temporary for him, since in either case he lives only a temporary life, which has as its goal eternal life. If there is no eternal life, then this short temporary life of ours has no meaning.

But in fact, there is a meaning in life and, proceeding from it, a person's temporary stay on earth contributes to his further salvation. Moreover, in the Christian tradition, we know many examples when, in order to save a person, the Church prayed that diseases would be sent to him.

In the ancient Church on this occasion there were even special ranks, which were used in "especially difficult" cases. For example, for Christians who at first led a pious lifestyle, and later fell into grave sins. They prayed for them that the Lord would give them a serious illness, and that it would become at least a small retribution for their sins, but not in eternal life, which would be much more terrible, but in earthly, temporary life. And so that people who have been honored with such a punishment return to their former life.

A sick person cannot sin as before. The disease makes you rethink your life and look at it in a new way. Many saints themselves asked the Lord to send them diseases that brought their spirits into a state of humility.

-But what about the popular saying “a healthy mind in a healthy body”? It turns out that she is not wealthy?

In fact, this is an anti-Christian saying. Most often it happens the other way around - a completely unhealthy mind can dwell in a healthy body. Of course, if you interpret the expression "healthy body" solely as a healthy lifestyle, then you can still agree with it. But still with great stretch: Christianity knows a lot of examples when a healthy spirit was in an unhealthy body.

-What should be the spiritual life of dads and moms so that their children do not suffer from their own mistakes?

Of course, parents need to pray for their children. Most often, it is mothers who pray for their babies. A mother's prayer has tremendous weight and significance before God. But the father, as the head of the family, must also pray for his entire family and, first of all, for his children. Regular sincere confession is also necessary, so that the unrepentant sin of parents does not burden the fate of children with its burden, does not cause their illnesses and difficult trials.

    Interviewed by Alisa Zakharova

Indeed, God is both good and omnipotent. All evil in the world is created not by Him, but by us. Almighty God could force us to keep pace, but then it would not be people, but biorobots. After all, we do not make mindless executors of our will out of our children, but on the contrary, we try to develop them for an independent life. Although there is a risk that they will become bad people, but be it so, it is better than violence against a person. After all, if we heard
on TV that somewhere for many years a person was locked up from childhood so that he would not do evil (and without preconditions for this), we would say that this is a perversion. Because it is against free human nature.

Basically, God IS NOT omnipotent. It's not for nothing that I singled out HOWEVER. Saint John Chrysostom was once asked a sly question: can the almighty God create a stone that he cannot lift? In both cases, it turns out that God is not omnipotent. But the saint replied that he not only could, but also created. And this stone is a man. Man is like God, he is just like God, free. Therefore, the only thing that DOES NOT BELONG TO GOD in this world is the human heart. You can't be cute. And in this creation by God EQUAL to Himself is the manifestation of the greatest Sacrament of God's love. Almighty, He Himself, voluntarily, limits His omnipotence, stopping before the freedom of the human person in respect to her.

Why do children, newborns, etc. die / become terminally ill? Why does the Lord give them life, and then take them to Himself? Why does the Lord take young mothers and fathers who have children on Earth with him? Why does the Lord give children to mothers who throw them away as newborns in the trash or somehow get rid of them? And for those parents who wholeheartedly wants to, heals the body of children and does not give it?

There is no answer to these questions. More precisely, there is no answer to these questions together, and even to each separately, when it is not about Nikanor Serapionovich, but about Ivanyvanych. I am a young priest. But I have already heard more than one thousand confessions. And sometimes you hear something that then you look in the mirror: haven't I turned gray? And every time a person comes to me and asks: “But why do I need this and that?” I answer: “I don’t know, because I am not God. Yes, I’m a priest, but for this, priests are needed, so that they, being equal to all other people, would lead them to God and speak to them on behalf of God. The ministry of a priest is the ministry of a mediator. And to stand in the place of God and decide for Him, and explain why God did this or that - forgive me, but who am I? I have a large, but quite limited power - I know the commandments of God, and I have been given the power to forgive a repentant person on behalf of
God sins against these commandments. I can testify at confession and in Baptism of the union between God and man, where a person promises to make every effort to become better, and God accepts him, forgives sins and helps to correct him. Having some experience, I can tell you how to act in a given situation. But I do not know how God provides for each person individually - well, He does not report to me, unfortunately! "Often I urge a person to think about his life and confess, after which there is already something to talk about.
For example, a woman comes to me, talks about her troubles and asks why. I propose to confess, it turns out - several abortions. I say: "And you ask why?" But I point out that this is nothing more than my assumption, and most likely, it is erroneous. Just because I am NOT GOD. Only He knows about each person what, why and how. Moreover, the question "why" is incorrect. You need to ask: "why" - so that you change your mind, repent and come to God. This answer is accurate.

It is necessary to consider these issues from the point of view that God is free and exists by Himself, He does not need additional conditions. We need it, both for life and for the realization of our freedom. And God gives them to us in the form of the world in which we live, with its laws and conditions. Including - with the laws of cause-and-effect relationships. If a mother drinks throughout her pregnancy, this is a manifestation of her freedom, and why does not God limit her - already mentioned above - what kind of freedom is this that I cannot use the way I want? At the same time, the mother triggers physiological mechanisms that harm her child. But if God restricts their action, then this is again a restriction of the mother's freedom. That is, she will be able to drink, realizing that she is harming the child, but suddenly there are no consequences! The Lord, by His power, DESTROIES all these consequences. Then all this dialectic with freedom loses its meaning, and we ought to be destroyed - and that's the end of it! Therefore, the Lord, in order for us to be people, free and equal in this to Him, limits His omnipotence and tolerates us, who harm ourselves and each other. Children also suffer from us. Why gives children to people who cannot raise them - it means they can. Only they decide that they don't need it. And this is also for the sake of freedom. Why is he picking up his parents? Why doesn't he give children to those who want? This is always the story of a specific person, with his features, sins and shortcomings, which only God knows. The only thing I can say is that the Lord does EVERYTHING so that we will correct ourselves and come to Him.

Therefore, trying to answer these questions in general means agreeing with this state of affairs. Supposedly, it should be so. This is not the case. It should not be! It is not right! And our conscience, our feeling of love and compassion, inherent in us by God, gives us this awareness. THIS SHOULD NOT BE! And the Lord, being forced to allow this for the sake of our freedom, turns to us through our conscience and says: "Look what you do when you sin! See how wrong and monstrous it is! Repent and correct yourself!" And of course it cannot exist for eternity. For this, the Lord accepted the Crucifixion and death, in order to overcome it by the Resurrection and give us the strength to overcome sin. And therefore there will be the Last Judgment, and then - a new being, in which people will be saints, and nature will be ideal, not damaged by human sin. And all this will be gone. The same people who do not want to accept God,
get the opportunity to live without Him. And this being is called hell.

Why religion and faith if they do not help us? People pray for the health of their children, but God doesn't seem to care about their prayers. And I thought about his existence, why did he create people, why did he let them invent weapons for murder? This is what I mean, if God exists, then he is no better than the devil!

It is strange that people who ask such questions consider life, health and prosperity to be a blessing. The question is initially posed in the format: "Why can God, promising eternal and happy life after death, cut off earthly life so early and for no reason?" In this form, the question sounds simultaneously with faith and unbelief. Those. the one asking it does not dispute the fact that God exists and that everything is in his power. But he also does not believe that God guarantees the resurrection of a person (a person's soul) after death. The exclusion of this guarantee allows a person to deny the first fact that he initially accepted - the very existence of God. Religion, in his opinion, does not save. What does salvation mean? Bank account? Caviar on bread? Diesel SUV? Villa on the sea? Yes, so many would like to be saved. Let us recall the story of Job - he loses his children, he loses his property, he loses his health and he loses his friends. Moreover, it loses just like that. It's just that the devil (thinks that) tempts God and gets permission to torture Job and his family. The situation is resolved, we look who gets what in the end: the lost children and servants of Job are with God (there should be no doubt about their piety and patience). Job receives even more property and exactly the same number of children (who again follow the path of a pious father and come to God after death). Those who blaspheme God are put to shame. Those who until the very end believed in God's intercession are raptured. Whenever I hear anywhere questions about “why God allowed this,” or I ask them myself, I remember the story of Job. "In the days of prosperity, use the good, and in the days of unhappiness, ponder: God did both things so that man could not say anything against Him." / Ecclesiastes 7: 14 / I would like to end my commentary with the words of Elder Paisius the Holy Mountain: “God does not allow a trial if something good does not come out of it. Seeing that the good that will happen will be greater than the evil, God leaves the devil to do his work. Remember Herod? He killed fourteen thousand infants and filled the heavenly army with fourteen thousand martyred angels. Have you seen angel martyrs anywhere? The devil broke his teeth! Diocletian, cruelly torturing Christians, was a collaborator of the devil. But, unwittingly, he did the good of Christ's Church, enriching Her with saints. He thought that he would destroy all Christians, but he did not achieve anything - he only left us many holy relics for worship and enriched the Church of Christ. "

I would very much like the children not to suffer. I do not believe that they are paying the price for the sins of their parents. This is not fair. God could not have allowed such injustice. It is a pity that a lot of bad things happen to children in our cruel World. Why is that?????
