The basics of behavior in a foreign country are reduced to a minimum by the guide: carefully cross the road, do not rent a vehicle, do not leave things unattended. And not a word about the fact that from the local assortment it is not worth buying as souvenirs to your homeland, which is prohibited for export. We knew about the magic fruit durian and the rules for handling it - the experience of previous trips to Southeast Asia affected. But someone could have received this information in a not very pleasant form already in the process of rest: for example, in the form of claims from the hotel administration. For me, by the way, a surprise was the ban on the export of fish sauce, which I learned about only on the way to the airport at the end of the tour. Usually, such subtleties are brought to the attention in the first hours of their stay in the country.

The hotel guide also did not take the trouble to explain these nuances: his duties include selling excursions. I must say, Yusuf approached this matter deliberately: having in his hands the prices of street agencies, he offered to simply compare prices. We must agree that the difference in cost, if there was, was insignificant.

A pleasant bonus from the tour operator: the cost of the voucher includes a sightseeing tour of the city. For an additional fee, this excursion can be extended to include lunch. Already on the bus, it turns out that the extended version of the sightseeing tour does not include an overview of the main attractions of the city. It includes visiting "lured" factories and shops (we are already used to such a service), but there is no time allocated for a Catholic cathedral or a Buddhist pagoda. Moreover, we did not even see them from the bus window. The apotheosis of the excursion was a visit to the yacht club: when no one met us there, the guide informed us about the pick-up time on the bus and invited us to organize our leisure time on our own. When tired tourists were asked to leave this - literally - inhospitable place, the guide replied: "We must stay here for an hour and a half." Whom we owe, having paid for the tour and excursion, we never found out. It remained a mystery to me what was supposed to be interesting in the yacht club, but the excursion ended with a 40-minute (thanks to the guide, he reduced our "duty" by half) a walk in the light of lanterns on an empty embankment.

The hotel guide offered to compare prices for excursions. But he kept silent that, at the same (or almost equal) cost, the number of visited sites varies significantly. So the trip to Dalat lost its tourist value. Having spent money (not scary - we are ready to spend on vacation) and a day (and this is a considerable price), we did not see even half of what street agencies offer. I am ready to agree with the arguments of the tour operator regarding comfort, safety, insurance. And I am ready for a reasonable additional payment for these advantages (although usually business sharks fight small competitors in a different way - by lowering prices). But here the situation is different: ANEX Tour is simply not ready to provide its tourists with what other operators offer - and it is not a matter of cost. Again, we did not see even half of what is worth seeing in Dalat. But - again - "we MUST visit this store."

There is a return road between the end of the rest and the end of the tour. And here ANEX-AZUR will not let us get bored. Instead of the usual online registration, we are offered paid registration without a guarantee of seat selection. For an additional fee, you can choose a seat with increased legroom. However, you should be prepared for the fact that this space will be occupied by those waiting in line for the toilet. The news on the airline's website makes AZUR unprofitable among carriers: the free baggage allowance has been reduced to 15 kg. However, the guides kindly explain: 15 kg luggage plus 5 kg for the fruit basket. Total - the same 20 kg. So have the norms changed or not? Changed, but only for those who are not carrying a fruit basket. Of course, this is done to ensure a safe non-stop flight. However, it still cannot do without refueling. And the reason is not in re-routing due to a change in the geopolitical situation - reviews indicate that refueling took place before the closure of Pakistani airspace. The fact is that the fleet is used at the limit of carrying capacity and range. Why isn't AZUR air following the reasonable lead of its competitors? It is possible, after all, for long-distance flights to use long-haul aircraft intended for this - with an increased passenger capacity and carrying capacity. And there would be no need to declare the absurdity of lowering norms. A two-class cabin layout would allow - for a fee, of course - to offer customers a better, competitive service. With an eleven- (and in ours - with refueling - case - thirteen-) hour flight, business class would be in demand.

Too many “why's” came up for me on this tour. The questions, the solution of which we are used to entrusting to the tour operator, remained unanswered.
