Their place in the composition of the novel. Characteristics of Oblomov's guests

Their place in the composition of the novel. Characteristics of Oblomov's guests

(16 )

Characteristics of Ilya Ilyich Oblomov very ambiguous. Goncharov created it complex and mysterious. Oblomov separates himself from the outside world, fenced off from it. Even his dwellings bear little resemblance to inhabited ones.

From early childhood, he saw a similar example from his relatives, who also fenced off from the outside world and protected him. It was not customary to work in his home. When he, as a child, played snowballs with peasant children, he was then warmed up for several days. In Oblomovka, they were wary of everything new - even a letter from a neighbor, in which he asked for a beer recipe, was afraid to open it for three days.

But Ilya Ilyich recalls his childhood with joy. He worships the nature of Oblomovka, although this is an ordinary village, nothing particularly remarkable. He was raised by a rustic nature. This nature instilled in him poetry and love of beauty.

Ilya Ilyich does nothing, only complains about something all the time and engages in verbiage. He is lazy, does nothing himself and does not expect anything from others. He accepts life as it is and does not try to change anything in it.

When people come to him and talk about their lives, he feels that in the hectic life they forget that they are wasting their lives in vain ... And he does not need to fuss, act, he does not need to prove anything to anyone. Ilya Ilyich just lives and enjoys life.

It is difficult to imagine him in motion, he looks funny. At rest, lying on the sofa, it is natural. Looks at ease - this is his element, his nature.

Let's summarize what we have read:

  1. Ilya Oblomov's appearance. Ilya Ilyich is a young man of 33 years old, good-looking, medium height, overweight. The softness of the expression on his face betrayed him as a weak-willed and lazy person.
  2. Family status. At the beginning of the novel, Oblomov is not married, he lives with his servant Zakhar. At the end of the novel, he marries and is happily married.
  3. Description of the dwelling. Ilya lives in St. Petersburg in an apartment on Gorokhovaya Street. The apartment is neglected, the servant Zakhar rarely sneaks into it, who is as lazy as the owner. In the apartment, a special place is occupied by the sofa, on which Oblomov lies around the clock.
  4. Behavior, actions of the hero. Ilya Ilyich can hardly be called an active person. Only his friend Stolz manages to get Oblomov out of his slumber. The main character lies on the couch and only dreams that he will soon get up from him and get down to business. He cannot even solve pressing problems. His estate has fallen into disrepair and does not bring money, so Oblomov has nothing to pay for the apartment with.
  5. The attitude of the author to the hero. Goncharov sympathizes with Oblomov, he considers him a kind, sincere person. At the same time, he sympathizes with him: it is a pity that a young, capable, not stupid person has lost all interest in life.
  6. My attitude to Ilya Oblomov. In my opinion, he is too lazy and weak-willed, therefore he cannot command respect. In places he just pisses me off, I want to come up and shake him. I don't like people who live their lives so mediocre. Perhaps I react so sharply to this hero because I feel the same flaws in myself.

bummer hero stolz

I.A. Goncharov and guests of Ilya Ilyich. Each of them has his own portrait, albeit not very complete. Thanks to this, the reader creates an image of those people with whom the main character communicated. Let's get acquainted with some of them.

Volkov is the first to arrive: “... a young man of about twenty-five, shining with health, with laughing cheeks, lips and eyes. Envy took to look at him. ”Goncharov, I.А. Oblomov. A novel in 4 parts. - M .: Fiction, 1984 .-- 493 p. - P. 32 He dazzled and the freshness of the face, and linen, and tailcoat. He had a shiny hat and patent leather boots. And as Oblomov himself correctly called him - "a brilliant gentleman."

Sudbinsky appears in a different way before the reader. This is "a gentleman in a dark green dress coat with heraldic buttons, clean-shaven ... with a troubled but calmly conscious expression in his eyes, with a heavily worn face, with a pensive smile." In the same place. - P. 36 These features are not accidental, because this guest is the head of the department.

Another guest, Alekseev, was a man "... of indefinite years, with an indefinite physiognomy ... not handsome and not bad, not tall and not short, not blond or dark-haired ...". In the same place. - P. 44 As the writer notes, nature did not give this character any noticeable features.

A more complete portrait of Mikhei Andreevich Tarantiev is given. This is "a man of about forty ... tall, voluminous in the shoulders and throughout the torso, with large facial features, with a large head ... a short neck, with large eyes on a roll, fat-lipped." In the same place. - P. 52 He did not pursue the elegance of the costume, was not always shaved ... But all this, it seems, did not bother the hero himself. Tarantiev is unfriendly to everything around him, scolding everything and everyone. For twenty-five years he has been working in the office. Sometimes he is like a child: overlooking something, missing something.

It is this description of Oblomov's guests that is especially detailed, since I.A. Goncharov brings this hero closer to Oblomov. It's not even that they have one small homeland, but that both Tarantiev and Oblomov remained with their unrealizable hopes, although somewhere inside they were full of dormant powers.

I.A. Goncharov puts the portraits of the above characters at the very beginning of the chapter, which allows the reader to immediately imagine the image of Oblomov's guest, and then follow the conversation between the characters.

Portrait of Zakhar

Zakhar is a servant of Ilya Ilyich. Despite the fact that this is a simple man, of a low class, I.A. Goncharov also created his portrait. The servant was over fifty years old, with "immensely wide and thick fair-haired whiskers with gray hair." The image is complemented by clothes: a gray frock coat and a vest, which the character really liked, but this is all at the beginning of the novel. At the end, a sad portrait is given: “... he has patches on his elbows; he looked so poor, hungry, as if he ate poorly, slept little and worked for three. Goncharov, I.A. Oblomov. A novel in 4 parts. - M .: Khudozhestvennaya literatura, 1984. - 493 p. - P.427 This is how Zakhar changed while in Pshenitsyna's house.

It is interesting that I.A. Goncharov complements the portrait with some character traits, the habits of a servant. For example, the reader learns that Zakhar is a gossip, is ready to swear at the master at every opportunity, loves to drink, and sometimes steals from Oblomov.

Zakhar is unpleasant (rarely shaves). Very awkward, slow, awkward. Even when he tries to please the master, the opposite happens. "There is no end to troubles and losses" from such a servant.

Despite all his shortcomings and repulsive properties, Zakhar is passionately devoted to the master, he would have died instead of the master, if necessary, since he considered it his duty.

The novel "Oblomov" is a classic in which interest either subsides or, on the contrary, flares up with great force. The point is in the character of Ilya Ilyich, who becomes a symbol of some eras, and a negative hero of others.

Oblomov's guests and the purpose of their arrival will help to understand the nature of a complex character.

Oblomov's guests

Throughout the novel, few guests come to Oblomov. They are all different in nature, appearance and age. Alekseev and Tarantiev come to Ilya Ilyich more often and harder. At first glance, these are two opposite characters: noisy and quiet, rude and timid, arrogant and meek. But in fact, they have a lot in common: the inability to build a career, the desire to eat at the expense of others.

The rest of the guests were Ilya's infrequent visitors. They were brought to him by random circumstances. They flew in for a minute and, seeing no point in communicating, quickly left the uncomfortable house. Such guests understood that they could not reciprocate the owner, reported some not very important news and left. Friends were an annoyance in Oblomov's life. They tried to return him to a stormy and hectic life, but their views did not coincide. Oblomov became increasingly uncomfortable with them. He pushed them away, not wanting even ridiculous friendly contacts. They felt cold from the street, and it was cold not only in the literal sense of the word, but also figuratively.

Volkov

Cheerful young man is carefree and cheerful. He shares the latest news with Ilya, brags about new things. The guest is a fashionista who loves flaunting clothes from the latest collections. He has a beautiful hairstyle. Volkov's life is a stormy holiday. He manages to visit 10 different places in one day:

"In ten places in one day - unfortunate!"

Volkov is trying to change Oblomov's attitude towards women. Thoughts, and not whether to fall in love, visited the owner and immediately melted away. Ilya's busy life did not arouse envy. He found his balanced and relaxed lifestyle better.

Sudbinsky

The guest is Oblomov's former colleague, they served together in the office. Sudbinsky has a speaking surname. He is the builder of his own destiny: he makes a career, strives for promotions, receives awards. Sudbinsky came to visit his friend, to invite him to go with him to Yekateringof. Oblomov was not interested in the story of his work. He is glad that he does not need to be bogged down as a guest in a career "fuss". In the conversation of friends, the topic of the essence of a person is raised, which fades into the background, leaving on the surface the desire for rank and serving. Good earnings and eternal employment are what the Sudbinsky colleague wanted to call on.

Penkin

With a proposal to go to Yekateringof, a young writer Penkin came to Oblomov. But before giving the purpose of the visit, the guest spoke about his article, about literature in general. He excited Ilya with thoughts of fallen people and changes in society. Ilya even jumped out of a comfortable bed, but it was a minute splash. Writing even at night is too wrong. Selling your thoughts is also absurd. Penkin can be compared with Oblomov's car, which turns without stopping every day. Life without sleep and rest - for Ilya Ilyich, a synonym for an unhappy existence.

Alekseev

The purpose of his visit to Oblomov, like all his life, is to eat. He invites Ilya to dinner with a mutual acquaintance, and in the afternoon to go with friends to Yekateringof. Oblomov offers to stay and dine with him. Alekseev is a timid man, afraid of himself. He does not advance in the service, does not have his own opinion, adapt to others, gradually losing face. Becomes unremarkable externally and internally. But only to this quiet guest Oblomov was able to voice his problems.

Tarantiev

Ilya Ilyich's compatriot and friend Tarantiev is a noisy and rude guest. He, without asking for consent, tries to lift Oblomov out of bed. At the request of Tarantiev, the servant Zakhar dresses the master. Oblomov sits down in a chair. Tarantiev was an invited guest, he was invited to dinner, but another purpose of the visit was to beg for a black tailcoat. Only the servant prevented the guest's insolence. Tarantiev constantly scolds, grumbles and swears. He is dissatisfied with everything in the world, looking for profit, the opportunity to deceive and cheat.

Doctor

The purpose of visiting the doctor is Oblomov's health. He warns Ilya about the possibility of a stroke (stroke), about the need to change his lifestyle, but he does not listen to his advice. The doctor is elegant and attractive. He walks into the homes of wealthy patients, so he is restrained and calm. The doctor has a good income, his behavior is of interest.

Feature plan:

1. How I met the visitor Oblomov

2. Did Oblomov rise from the sofa towards

3. What reflections did Oblomov have after the visitor left

4. Why does a visitor come to Oblomov

1) Volkov:

1. As soon as the doorbell rang, Oblomov was seized with curiosity, and he began to look. Seeing that his guest - Volkov, he greeted and, only he wanted to come up, said: "Do not come, do not come: you are out of the cold!"

There was no attempt to get out of bed.

3. Oblomov began to be surprised: "In ten places in one day - unhappy!" But I also thought it would be nice to fall in love with some girl too. But in the end he came to the conclusion that his life is much better and calmer and it suits him.

4. Volkov came to see Oblomov and tell the latest news, as well as show off his new things.

2) Sudbinsky:

1. Oblomov was delighted with the arrival of an old colleague, greeted him cheerfully, but he also said, like Volkov: "Don't come, don't come! You're out of the cold."

2. Upon the arrival of Sudbinsky Oblomov did not even move, but there was one moment during the conversation when he jumped out of bed.

3. Oblomov reasoned: "Stuck, dear friend, stuck up to his ears. And blind, and deaf, and mute for everything else in the world. We call it a career too!" Ilya Ilyich also touches on the subject of the essence of man, that with a life like that of his comrade, "a little man is needed here." After all the reflections, Oblomov settled on the fact that he was glad that he could sit at home all day and not bother with work, unlike Sudbinsky, whom he calls unhappy.

4. Sudbinsky came to visit a former colleague, mentioned that "I was going to see you for a long time." He talked about his official affairs and immediate plans, and also tried to invite Oblomov with him to Yekateringof.

3) Penkin:

1. Before Penkin came, Oblomov was still in thought after the departure of Sudbinsky, and it turned out that at first he did not even notice the new guest. But after he greeted, he woke up, and again the words sounded: "do not come, do not come: you are from the cold!".

2. Oblomov did not particularly react to Penkin's arrival, but during conversations Penkin was able to stir up Ilya Ilyich a little, he first got up, and then jumped out of bed altogether. But after that I went to bed again.

3. When Penkin left, Oblomov began to wonder how it was possible to write all the time, especially at night. He also thought: "Yes, write everything, waste your thought, your soul on trifles, change your beliefs, trade your mind and imagination, rape your nature, worry, boil, burn, do not know peace and all move somewhere ... ". He did not understand this, although earlier he himself reasoned that a person is not a person, if he does not live, does not feel, does not use his mind and imagination. He compares Penkin to a machine: "write everything like a wheel, like a machine: write tomorrow, the day after tomorrow. When will you stop and rest? Unhappy."

4. Penkin had the purpose of the visit: "Do you know why I came to you? I wanted to offer you to Yekateringof; I have a carriage." But before he said this, he managed to start a conversation with Oblomov about his new article, then about literature, and then about "fallen people" and about society in general, which could agitate Oblomov.

4) Alekseev:

1. After the next call at the door, Oblomov asked the question: "What kind of reception is this with me today?" After Alekseev entered, he greeted him and immediately warned: "Do not come, do not come: I will not give you my hand: you are out of the cold!"

2. During the conversation, Oblomov almost did not move, although he was asked to get up, wash and start getting ready.

3. Aleksev did not leave Oblomov's apartment until Tarantyev came, and left after him. Oblomov at the time of Alekseev's departure did not listen to him and, sitting in an armchair, "plunged either into slumber or into thoughtfulness."

4. Alekseev came for Oblomov to take Ovchinin for lunch, and then with him, Ovchinins, Alyanov, Pkhailo and Kolymyagin to go to Yekateringof. He tried to force Oblomov to get up and start getting ready, but Ilya Ilyich dissuaded him from going to dinner at Ovchinin's, and to dine with him with Tarantiev. Even Oblomov was finally able to talk about his two misfortunes, and Alekseev listened to him.

5) Tarantiev:

1. As soon as Tarantiev arrived, he greeted Oblomov and held out his hand, but Ilya Ilyich, like all previous visitors, said: “Don't come, don't come: you're out of the cold!” And covered himself with a blanket.

2. Oblomov met the guest lying on the bed, but Tarantiev tried to lift him out of bed, "but he warned him by quickly dropping his legs and immediately hitting them in both shoes." Tarantiev began to call Zakhar to dress the master. Oblomov, with the help of Zakhar, got up and sat down in a chair.

3. After Tarantiev left, Oblomov began to reflect on his problems: "Oblomov was upset with the letter of the headman and the upcoming move to an apartment and was partly tired of Tarantiev's chatter."

4. Tarantiev was invited to dinner by Oblomov. And since the invitee came early, Ilya Ilyich decided to consult with him about his misfortunes. Tarantiev decided to cash in on help, which he succeeded. He also came to ask Oblomov to lend him his black coat for a while, but Zakhar, who insisted on his own, did not give the coat to Tarantiev.

During the classes:

  1. Organizing time. Motivational attitude.

Good afternoon guys. Today we continue our acquaintance with Goncharov's novel Oblomov, continue to analyze the text and comprehend the secrets of the author's artistic skill.

As you know, this novel is a classic of world literature.Roman Goncharova " Oblomov "is prominent in Russian and world literature a milestone in the solution of many problems by humanity.Do you think it is important to read classical literature? (Yes)

Let's play the Orator game. Take on the role of a public speaker and prove that reading classical literature is essential.

(Answers of children:

- The classic has become a classic because it carries something that, even after a long time, retains its relevance.

- Classic books are eternal, as they help to reveal many moments of human life, relationships that do not depend on time.

- Reading classic literatureaffects the inner world of the reader. Even if the book is a hundred or more years old. She is the only one who can tell about interesting events, convey all the shades of the characters' experiences, their thoughts, accurately describe the actions and their reasons. Some works can play a large role in the life of the public.

Another reason that can be a significant argument in favor ofreading classical literature- this is what these works are part of the intellectual and cultural heritage of mankind, to lose which would be simply a crime. Those joys, successes, defeats that our ancestors left in the classics should not become unnecessary.)

Well done! With this attitude, we can safely continue our journey through the pages of the novel by I.A. Goncharova "Oblomov".

2 . Homework check.

At home, you were asked to fill out a questionnaire for insignificant, seemingly inconspicuous characters in the novel, which can still influence the formation of the presentation of the main character. I hope that in the course of reading the novel, these characters helped you to reveal the image of Oblomov to a greater extent.

Guys, tell me, the names of which characters did you enter in this profile?

(Volkov, Sudbinsky, Penkin, Alekseev, Tarantiev, Mukhoyarov, Olga's aunt, Zakhar).

(See Appendix 1).

3. Actualization of experience. Goal setting.

In the previous lesson, you and I studied the central image of the novel - Ilya Ilyich Oblomov. Let's put together a short portrait of him. (Notes in a notebook).

Based on the completed table, answer the question: what do these characters have in common and what distinguishes them from each other?

(The first five characters - Oblomov's "guests", Olga's aunt and Mukhoyarov, are not directly related to Oblomov, they play a direct role. Zakhar is a servant, but has similarities to Oblomov. They will unite one thing - they are all minor characters, but they are all concentrated around the main character, some of them even contribute to the creation of the image of the main character).

Important!! When using the collaborative search technique, the teacher takes into account the views of each student speaking.

What features of the characters can be defined as contrasting? Why does the author need this contrast?

(All the traits that are opposed to the main character. To oppose each to Oblomov, to put together the idea of the image more clearly and vividly).

Do you think one character can somehow influence the reader's perception of the protagonist? How does it manifest?

What do you think our today's lesson will be devoted to if we have already touched the image of the central character? (Formulate the topic of the lesson approximately "Minor characters in the novel" Oblomov ").

How do you understand the meaning of the word "minor"?

(Secondary, th, th. Not the main, not the main, less significant (second degree in importance).

What is the purpose of our lesson? (Evaluate the role of minor characters in the novel)

4. Learning new knowledge.

Guys, today's lesson can be called unusual. If we came up with a name for each lesson, then today's title would be: "On a visit to Ilya Oblomov." Let's imagine that we are in the artistic world created by Goncharov on the pages of the novel.

Frontal poll."Reference point".

1) What era are we in? (19th century)

2) What city are we in? (Petersburg)

3) What social circle does the hero belong to? (Nobility // master who has an estate, land, peasants)

4) Where could you meet people of this circle? (At the service, at the theater, at a ball or at a reception, in a park, on the embankment of the Neva).

5) Where are we going? Where do we look for a hero? (Gorokhovaya street, rented apartment).

6) Why is the hero at home now? (Oblomov is always at home).

Since our hero does not go anywhere, we ourselves will have to go to Oblomov to visit.

Only today, one half of the class will have the opportunity to plunge into the atmosphere of Oblomov's life and witness Oblomov's communication with his guests, while the other half of the class will have a wonderful opportunity to express themselves from the creative side and show themselves a small excerpt from the novel, to be Oblomov's guests. So, we plunge into the atmosphere of eternal rest and sleep and look into the house of Ilya Ilyich Oblomov. And at the same time we will get to know the guests themselves.

Using the technique of theatricalization (Appendix 2).

After staging:

Call phase: Evaluation questions:

How did you feel while watching the dramatization of the text?

What questions arose when comparing the text and living characters?

Did the actors manage to convey the images of the characters they represented?

Have you been able to trace the complexity of the character of the protagonist?

5. Physical minutes.

6. The stage of checking the understanding of what has been learned.

Target: to establish whether the students have learned the connection between the facts, to eliminate the gaps found.

Way to achieve:group form of work (reception "Double diary"),posing questions that require active mental activity of students (reception "Educational brainstorming"); frontal work with the class (creating non-standard situations when using knowledge; the teacher's appeal to the class with the requirement to supplement, clarify or correct the student's answer, find another, more rational solution, etc.; consideration of additional answers in terms of quantity and nature when clarifying gaps in understanding learners of new material), individual work.

Result : the teacher asks average and weak students, the class is involved in assessing their answers, during the test, the teacher seeks to eliminate the gaps in the students' understanding of the new material; the main criterion for performing a didactic task is the level of awareness of the new material by the majority of weak and average students.

  1. Group work. Reception "double diary".Division of the class into two groups. The teacher asks one group to fill in the column of the table "what is positive the guests brought to Oblomov" (+), the second - "what is negative" (-). It turned out the following:
  1. Individual work(written, abstracts):

Who is Zakhar? What are the features of this character? What is its role?

(performed by a strong learner while others work orally)

  1. Frontal work.

a) Blitz survey:

How many guests came to Oblomov? (5).

What are their surnames (Volkov, Sudbinsky, Penkin, Alekseev, Tarantiev).

Where did some of the guests call Oblomov? (To Yekateringof, for entertainment, for the celebration of May 1).

What phrase did Oblomov repeatedly repeat when meeting with guests? ("Get out, you are out of the cold ...").

What question did Oblomov try to solve by asking for help from his visitors? (Housing problem).

b) Educational brainstorming.

Is the image of Oblomov as easy as it seems at first glance? (The image, like the novel, is ambiguous.)

How does this kind of complexity of the main character's image develop?

What character traits do you think Oblomov lacks for an ideal hero? (Self-confidence, panache, mischief, optimism, an active life position in general).

Can these qualities be adopted from his acquaintances, friends? (Maybe he lacks all this).

And what features of Oblomov's guests would not be worth adopting? Why? (Honor, pretense, farce, spinelessness, arrogance, rudeness).

Why can't the guests get Oblomov off the couch? (He is above their interests. He is a philosopher.

M. Prishvin: “No“ positive ”activity in Russia can withstand Oblomov's criticism: his peace is fraught with a demand for the highest value, for such activity, because of which it would be worth losing peace”).

What literary hero of Russian literature of the first third of the 19th century resemble those qualities of Oblomov that manifested themselves in the first episodes? (Manilova is a dreamer from the novel "Dead Souls" by N. V. Gogol).

The typological feature of which heroes is the lack of fulfillment in business, society? (The type of "superfluous person").

How does the coverage of the problem of the "superfluous person" in this novel differ from its consideration in the previous literature? (In the works of AS Pushkin, AS Griboyedov, the type of "superfluous person" is an extraordinary, titanic personality. IA Goncharov showed how reality ruins not a titan, but an ordinary son of the century, just a good person. Goncharov brought the logic development of the "superfluous person" to its logical conclusion (lack of fulfillment, complete inactivity. The conflict "man-environment" is moved inside the hero himself: it prevents the personality of the "landowner" from being realized in the hero himself, in the soul of the hero).

What role does the seemingly inconspicuous character Ivan Matveyevich Mukhoyarov play in the novel? (He is the spring in the events associated with Oblomov, decides the fate of Oblomov's estate, an unpleasant character).

And Olga's aunt, Marya Mikhailovna? (It is nothing special. On the other hand, forDuring Olga's romance with Oblomov, Marya Mikhailovna remains true to herself, without betraying her own attitude to their frequent meetings. Usually, during Ilya Ilyich's visits, "my aunt ... looks at him with her languid big eyes and pensively sniffs her alcohol, as if she had a headache from him." It is in the behavior of Marya Mikhailovna, from whom he never officially asked for Olga's hand, that Oblomov finds silent support for the idea of the futility of this decisive step).

Checking the answer to the questions posed about Zakhara. Determination of its place in the text.

(Iskhodyaizoblomovskoyironii and life perception andy, uvidennyenami in the text, we polnoyuverennostyumozhemskazat, chtoZahar "eschebolshiyOblomov, chemsamIlyaIlich" Naiboleeyarkoetovyrazheno in sleduyuschemepizodeteksta:.. "Oblomov uprekompoglyadelnanego, pokachalgolovoy and sighed, and Zaharravnodushnopoglyadelnaokno and tozhevzdohnul gentleman seems to think," Well, brother, you still have more Oblomov than I myself ... ”The image is needed in the novel, the snowless picture of Oblomovism was incomplete.)

Does the novel pose the problem of an integral harmonious personality? How? What for?

(V All the main characters of the novel are perfect. But they are perfect from different angles. In Oblomov - the ideal of a poet, in Stolz - the ideal of a sober-minded person, in Olga - the ideal of a person who is aware of his duty. Oblomov is ideal for Wheat and Oblomovka. And Stolz and Olga are ideal for society. The harmonious personality is not Stolz, not Oblomov, not Olga separately. These are all of them put together. Oblomov is not an absolute ideal. If Goncharov combined the qualities of Stolz and Oblomov, he would get a perfect image).

With the appearance of which guest does the image of Oblomov seem to us not at all unambiguous? (when Stolz-next topic appears).

7. The stage of consolidating new material.

A basket is placed on the table in front of the students. In advance, the teacher selects abstracts on the topic, including erroneous ones, puts them in a basket. Pupils take out a piece of paper with a thesis from the basket, agree or refute, correcting it.

  1. As you get to know Oblomov's guests, the reader realizes that, perhaps, the main character is right in his attitude towards them. All of them are also Oblomovites, despite the apparent opposite to him. They only create the appearance of activity, while in fact they do nothing.
  2. Oblomov's guests are not accidental. Volkov is a secular dandy, dandy; Sudbinsky is Oblomov's colleague who has advanced in the service; Penkin is a successful writer; Alekseev is a faceless man, Tarantiev is assertive, arrogant, boorish. Oblomov could have been a secular dandy, like Volkov (and he liked women, even very beautiful women, but he alienated them from himself), could serve and rise to high ranks like Sudbinsky, he could become a writer, like Penkin (Stolz, bringing him books to read, made Oblomov addicted to poetry. Oblomov found rapture in poetry ...) Alekseev tells us that the choice can still be made.
  3. The scene of Oblomov's meeting with the guests is nothing of artistic value.
  4. The author treats Oblomov in a completely different way from the other heroes of the novel - guests of the Oblomov estate. Volkov, Sudbinsky, Alekseev, Penkin, Tarantiev - all these cheap gentlemen are bright representatives of the local secular society, "with ranks and titles." Their traditional visit is simply alien to the understanding of the protagonist. He is above their understanding of the world. He is more human.
  5. Zakhar "even more Oblomov than Oblomov himself."
  6. The life and fate of Ilya Ilyich Oblomov cannot make one think about the most complicated issues of free will and the need to live "as needed" or "as I want."

8. The stage of informing students about homework, instructions on how to complete it.

  1. Consider a pair of "Stolz and Oblomov". Answer in writing the question: "Oblomov and Stolz: doubles or antipodes?"
  2. Love in a novel. Development of relations with women at Oblomov. Fill in the table with the necessary quotes (handout).
  3. What is Oblomovism? To summarize what was said earlier. Create a cluster "Oblomovism" features.
  4. For everyone: to get acquainted with excerpts from the critical articles of Dobrolyubov N.A. "What is Oblomovism?" Druzhinina A.V. "Oblomov", Pisareva D.I. “Oblomov. Roman Goncharova IA ". (summary in a notebook).

9. Summing up the lesson.

The guys in a circle speak in one sentence, choosing the beginning of the phrase from the reflective screen on the board:

Today I found out ...

It was interesting…

It was difficult…

I performed tasks ...

I realized that ...

Now I can…

I felt that ...

I purchased ...

I learned…

I managed …

I was able to ...

I will try…

I was surprised ...

The lesson gave me for life ...

I wanted…

Grading by the teacher.

Today in the lesson we examined the role of the minor characters in the novel. We have proved that one of the means of creating an image is to compare the character traits of several secondary heroes with the main one, in order to more clearly trace the disclosure of the image in the novel. In the next lessons, we will continue our conversation about a work of fiction, make sure of its specificity, reveal new manifestations of the mastery of the author - Ivan Aleksandrovich Goncharov in his controversial novel Oblomov.

The lesson is over! Goodbye!

3 Penkin

“The whole mechanism of our social movement has been discovered, and everything is in poetic colors. All springs are touched; all steps of the social ladder have been enumerated. Here, as for judgment, the author summoned a weak, but vicious nobleman and a whole swarm of bribe-takers who deceive him; and all categories of fallen women were dismantled ... Appendix 2.

Using theatrical technology in the classroom. Reenactment of the scene for receiving guests in Oblomov's house.

Oblomov, Volkov, Sudbinsky, Penkin, Alekseev, Tarant'ev, Author.

The ticking of the clock is heard. On the screen - frames from the film "A few days from the life of Oblomov" (the hero lies, turning to the wall). The student, playing the role of Oblomov, lies on a pre-prepared sleeping place in the middle of the class.

Call. Volkov enters.

A young man of about twenty-five, radiant with health, with laughing cheeks, lips and eyes, entered. Envy took to look at him.

Oh, Volkov, hello! - said Ilya Ilyich.

Hello Oblomov, - said the shining gentleman, coming up to him.

Do not come, do not come: you are from the cold! - he said.

You haven't got up yet! What is this dressing gown on you? These have long been abandoned to wear, - he shamed Oblomov.

This is not a dressing gown, but a robe, - said Oblomov, lovingly wrapping himself in the wide hem of the robe.

Where are you from so early? - Asked Oblomov.

From the tailor. Look, is the tailcoat good? - he said, tossing and turning in front of Oblomov.

Great! Sewn with great taste, - said Ilya Ilyich.

Oblomov, do you know, I'm ... in love with Lydia, '' Volkov whispered.

Bravo! How long has it been? She seems so cute.

Three weeks now! Volkov said with a deep sigh. - What dust you have everywhere! - he said.

All Zakhar! - Oblomov complained.

Well, I have to go! - said Volkov.

Come in the evening to drink tea, from the ballet: tell me how it was there, - invited Oblomov.

I can't, I gave my word to the Mussinsky: their day is today. Come along too. Do you want me to introduce you?

No, what to do there?

You can't please you. But you never know houses! Now everyone has days: at the Savinovs' dinner on Thursdays, at the Maklashins' on Fridays, at the Vyaznikovs' on Sundays, at Prince Tyumenev's on Wednesdays. All my days are busy! - Volkov concluded with shining eyes.

And you are not too lazy to knock around from day to day?

Here, laziness! What kind of laziness? Great! he said nonchalantly. “Farewell. I’m still in ten places.” And he disappeared.

Oblomov's thoughts (pre-recorded, audio recording is included):

“To ten places in one day - unfortunate! And this is life! Where is the man here? What does it break up and disintegrate into? Of course, it’s not a bad idea to drop into the theater and fall in love with some Lydia ... she’s cute! In the village to pick flowers with her, it is good to ride; yes in ten places in one day - unfortunate! "

Doorbell. Sudbinsky enters.

A new guest came in.

Hello, Sudbinsky! Oblomov greeted cheerfully. - Violently looked at an old colleague! Don't come, don't come! You're out of the cold.

Hello, Ilya Ilyich. I've been going to see you for a long time, - said the guest, - but you know what a devilish service we have! Look, I’m taking a whole suitcase to the report; and now, if they ask anything there, I ordered the courier to gallop here. You can't have yourself for a minute.

Are you still on duty? So late? - Asked Oblomov. - You used to be from ten o'clock ...

What can you do! You have to work if you take money. I’ll rest in the summer: Foma Fomich promises to invent a business trip on purpose for me ... here, here I’ll get runs for five horses, daily rubles three per day, and then a reward ...

Ek lomat! - Oblomov spoke with envy; then he sighed and thought.

Money is needed: I will marry in the fall, added Sudbinsky.

What you! Indeed? On whom? - said Oblomov with participation.

Not jokingly, on Murashina. Do you remember when you lived next to me in the country? You drank tea with me and I think you saw her.

No, I do not remember! Pretty? - Asked Oblomov.

Yes, sweet. Let's go, if you want, to have dinner with them ...

Oblomov hesitated.

Yes ... well, just ...

That week, ”said Sudbinsky.

Yes, yes, that week, - Oblomov was delighted, - my dress is not ready yet. Well, good game?

Yes, father is a full state councilor; gives ten thousand, a state-owned apartment. He gave us the whole half, twelve rooms; government furniture, heating, lighting too: you can live ...

Yes you can! Still would! What is Sudbinsky! - added, not without envy, Oblomov.

I invite you to the wedding, Ilya Ilyich, as best man: look ...

Of course, by all means! - said Oblomov.

Goodbye, - said the official, - I chatted, something will be needed there ...

Oblomov's thoughts:

“Stuck, dear friend, stuck up to his ears. And blind, and deaf, and dumb to everything else in the world. And he will come out in the people, will eventually turn about affairs and grabs ranks ... We also call this a career! And how little a person is needed here: his mind, will, feelings - why is this? Luxury! And he will live his life, and will not move much, much ... And meanwhile he works from twelve to five in the office, from eight to twelve at home - unhappy! "

Penkin enters.

Hello Penkin; do not come, do not come: you are from the cold! - said Oblomov.

Oh, you eccentric! - he said. - Still the same incorrigible, carefree sloth!

Yes, carefree! - said Oblomov. - Now I'll show you a letter from the headman: you break, break your head, and you say: carefree! Where are you from?

From the bookstore: I went to see if the magazines were out. Have you read my article?

No.

I carry this thought through and I know that it is new and bold. One traveler witnessed these beatings and complained to him when meeting with the governor. He ordered the official, who was going there for the investigation, to make sure of this in passing and, in general, to collect information about the personality and behavior of the governor. The official summoned the bourgeoisie, as if to inquire about trade, and in the meantime, let's scout about this too. What are the philistines? They bow and laugh and praise the mayor. The official began to find out by the side, and he was told that the bourgeoisie are terrible swindlers, they sell rot, weigh, measure even the treasury, everyone is immoral, so these beatings are a righteous punishment ...

You should write, Ilya Ilyich, you have a lot of tact!

Oblomov brushes it off.

Read it yourself.

What did I not see there? - said Oblomov. - Why do they write: they only amuse themselves ...

Imagine a thief, a fallen woman, an inflated fool, and don't forget the man right there. Where is humanity then? You want to write with one head! Oblomov almost hissed. - Do you think that a heart is not needed for thought? No, she is fertilized by love. Stretch out your hand to a fallen person to lift him, or weep bitterly over him if he dies, and do not mock. Love him, remember yourself in him and treat him like you are yourself - then I will read you and bow my head before you ... - he said, lying down again peacefully on the sofa. “They portray a thief, a fallen woman,” he said, “but they forget a person or they don’t know how to portray. What art is there, what poetic colors have you found? Expose debauchery, filth, only, please, without a claim to poetry.

Well, do you order to depict nature: roses, a nightingale or a frosty morning, while everything is boiling, moving around? We need one naked physiology of society; we have no time for songs now ...

Human, human give me! - said Oblomov. - Love him ...

However, I have to go to the printing house! said Penkin. At night to write and how to send light to the printing house. Farewell.

Oblomov's thoughts:
“At night to write, when to sleep? And hey, he’s earning five thousand a year! This is bread! Yes, write everything, waste your thought, your soul on trifles, change your beliefs, trade with your mind and imagination, force your nature, worry, boil, burn, do not know the rest and all move somewhere ... And write everything, write everything like a wheel, like a machine: write tomorrow, the day after tomorrow; the holiday will come, the summer will come - and he still write? When to stop and rest? Unhappy!"

Call. Alekseev enters.

A man of indeterminate years entered, with an indefinite physiognomy, at a time when it is difficult to guess the summer; neither handsome nor ugly, neither tall nor short, neither blond nor dark-haired. Nature has not given him any sharp, noticeable feature, neither good nor bad. Many called him Ivan Ivanovich, others - Ivan Vasilich, still others - Ivan Mikhailich.

A! - Oblomov met him. - Is that you, Alekseev? Hello. Where? Do not come, do not come: I will not give you my hands: you are from the cold!

What are you, how cold! I did not think to see you today, - said Alekseev, - but Ovchinin met and took him to his place. I am after you, Ilya Ilyich.

Where is it?

Yes, let's go to Ovchinin. There Matvey Andreevich Alyanov, Kazimir Albertych Pkhailo, Vasily Sevastyanych Kolymyagin.

Why are they gathered there and what do they want from me?

Ovchinin invites you to dinner.

Hm! Dine ... - repeated Oblomov monotonously.

And then everyone goes to Yekateringof: they told me to tell you to hire a carriage.

I have two misfortunes! I don’t know what to do.

What are they?

They are being driven from the apartment; Imagine - you have to move out: withdrawal, fuss ... scary to think! After all, he lived in an apartment for eight years.

Well, what would you do if you were me? - Asked Oblomov, looking inquiringly at Alekseev, with sweet hope, maybe he can think of something to calm him down.

You have to think, Ilya Ilyich, you can't suddenly decide, - said Alekseev.

Tarantiev enters.

Hello, fellow countryman, - Tarantyev said abruptly, stretching out his shaggy hand to Oblomov. - Why are you still lying like a deck?

Don't come, don't come: you're out of the cold! - said Oblomov, hiding behind a blanket.

Here's another thing - what he invented - from the cold! - voiced Tarantiev. - Well, well, take your hand, if they give! Soon it’s twelve o’clock, and he’s lying around!

Have you heard about my misfortunes? They are being driven from the apartment, the headman sent a letter.

Here's what: tomorrow if you please move to an apartment ... on the Vyborg side.

I will not move. (Argue)

Well, to hell with you! - answered Tarantyev, going to the door. - Look, Ilya Ilyich, I'll rent you an apartment - do you hear? he added.

And I'll go while I tell you not to be expected at Yekateringof. Goodbye, Ilya Ilyich, said Alekseev.

Leave.
