Yes, you can become a plague doctor in that same mask and try to treat the sick, but this makes little sense, because the game - and therefore the epidemic in it - is endless. Finally, sick NPCs look suspiciously like ordinary living dead. The Black Death could be a much more interesting and hardcore game, but as a result, the plague is present in it more nominally than real.

Over time, hiding from them becomes more and more difficult, and surviving their attacks becomes more and more scary. Getting into their lair is out of the question at first... But when the player acquires proper equipment and strengthens the rear, the sortie will become possible.
