Today the capital boasts several galleries that, if not chic, then at least feel confident. The head of one of them, Yevgeniy Karas, talks about how and who should do this business.

Gallery "Atelier Karas" was opened in 1995. The idea of creating a gallery originated in his family, the family of artists, back in 1986, then there was also a room for the future gallery. The Union of Artists provided Evgeny's parents with an entire floor for a creative workshop: the total area of the premises was approximately 200 sq. M. “I wanted to create a kind of space for“ scrolling ”interesting creative ideas, a cultural environment for communication of like-minded people, a platform for a beautiful life,” recalls Yevgeny Karas.

The creation of the “space” began with a major renovation. The building needed not just renovation, but restoration. But even after the premises had acquired the proper form, it did not immediately become "a space for" scrolling "creative ideas."

Until 1995, "there was a process of accumulating knowledge in the field of contemporary art." The future gallery owner strove to understand what was happening in the fine arts of Ukraine, Russia, Europe, America. He also began to thoroughly research art trends, infrastructure, hangouts, names, ratings. It was decided to exhibit only works by Ukrainian artists. The gallery staff began to form a database: they collected information about artists, photographs of their works, art history texts. And in 1995 they began to invite artists to participate in exhibition programs.

When it came time to open the gallery, Yevgeny Karas had everything he needed: first, a large and inexpensive room, second, ideas for future exhibitions, third, a database of artists and their works, and fourth, competent associates.

How to open the gallery: frames

Only five people work in the Atelier Karas gallery: gallery owner - manager, curator, press secretary, consultant and exhibitor.

The success of the entire enterprise entirely depends on the gallery owner: on his taste, his position. It is he who sets the tone, forms the image of the gallery. He decides which art is acceptable for his gallery and which is not. With which authors he should work, with which - not. He also sets the “bar” for the gallery. A gallery owner does not have to be an artist. The main thing is to understand the fine arts and love it. By the way, art managers are trained by some universities in Ukraine. For example, the Kiev Art Academy and the Kiev University of Culture.

Evgeny Karas assigns the second most important role to the curator. The curator initiates, organizes and conducts exhibitions. A curator needs an art education.
The exhibitor decides where to place this or that work, so that it does not “get lost” in the general mass, so that it does not “score” other works, so that the exposition is as adequate as possible to the concept of the exhibition. That is, the organization of the exposition is a whole art, often a skillfully executed exposition gives the paintings a “new sound”.

As for consultants (who work with visitors and potential buyers) and a press secretary (working with the media), Yevgeniy Karas took graduates of the Kiev-Mohyla Academy to these positions. He claims that no university is able to compete with the graduates of the Faculty of Cultural Studies of the Kiev-Mohyla Academy. Soon a programmer will appear in the gallery, who will only deal with Internet resources created and curated by the gallery.

Gallery staff members receive on average
from $ 200 to $ 500 per month.

How to open the gallery: documents

According to Yevgeny Karas, in order to open a gallery of contemporary art, one does not need to obtain any permits, except for the generally accepted ones. And no one checks galleries purposefully, since the activities of galleries are not regulated by law: there is no such concept of specific cultural activity as “gallery” in our laws.

How to open the gallery: works

"Gallery Karas" positions itself as a gallery of contemporary fundamental art. That is, the art of traditional technologies is shown here: painting, graphics, sculpture and photography. And only in rare cases - installation, media and video art.

Evgeny Karas has his own system of assessing artists, which, however, does not pretend to be objective. He asks for the opinion of experts, who are reputable artists in professional circles, and judges the author by the events in which he participated. The highest level of international recognition of an artist is participation in prestigious international festivals, for example, the Venice Biennale.

The place where the author was exhibited also plays an important role. If an artist names well-known museums, for example, the Ludwig Museum, the Steadlik Museum, etc., then he can confirm his high international status. There are no more than 30 such artists in Ukraine, according to the gallery owner. He named only a few names: Makov, Savadov, Tistol, Roytburd, Gnilitsky, Zhivotkov, Silvashi and others.

According to the gallery owner, “a gallery, like any art project, is assessed not by the strongest, but by the weakest artist or project. And it is not so difficult to raise the “bar” as it is difficult not to lower it ”.

In order not to "sink", the gallery "Atelier Karas" regularly conducts research, the purpose of which is to assess and predict the artistic situation, to determine the best artists in the country according to experts. The system is simple: they interview 15 experts (gallery owners, art managers) with a request to name the 50 most interesting artists. As a rule, their opinions coincide by 80%. Then they ask of the indicated 50 to mark the 10 strongest: coincidence - 20%. This is how the internal rating is formed.

His gallery systematically works with more than 30 artists. True, every year she allocates space for the work of one or two new authors. And on average 10-15 exhibitions a year.

The gallery is best located in the city center. A room with a total area of 200 sq. M can be considered ideal: an exhibition hall - 50-80 sq. M, an office - 15-20 sq. etc.) - 50 sq.m.

You can start a gallery business with $ 1.5 thousand, but this is subject to the availability of premises. $ 1.5 thousand will go to the salaries of employees for the first month, a buffet on the occasion of the opening and brochures about the exhibition. Renting a room in the city center will of course be very expensive. But you can agree with the local authorities - to organize a joint gallery. Or you can add the gallery to an existing business: for example, a banker can organize exhibitions in the lobby of a bank.

Instructions

Research the demand in your city for art products, particularly paintings. Calculate the approximate cost based not on their artistic value, but on the possibility of selling them later. In addition, find out what paintings are most often ordered from artists by eminent and not so townspeople.

Register an individual entrepreneur (this is quite enough to open an art salon), get an extract from USRIP and Roskomstat codes. Register KKM.

Come up with a name for your salon. If you are going to devote your time and money to local authors, the name should be associated with your city. If you are going to do custom work, come up with a catchy, but not devoid of sophistication, name.

Find a room for your future salon. It must be located in the city center on the first floor of a historic building. As a last resort, rent a space in a shopping center, but also on the ground floor and with an outdoor display case to showcase your work. The main thing is that it has compartments for the showroom, office and possibly for a souvenir that will help you survive in difficult times of formation. Design the room appropriately. Get all the necessary opinions from the sanitary and fire services.

If you're looking to fill low-cost orders with a large format printer, buy or rent one. Do not forget about a sufficient supply of consumables. However, if the works of artists will be of interest to buyers, you can also start accepting orders for original works.

Sign contracts with private entrepreneurs and handicraft factories for the supply of souvenirs. Usually, the owners of art salons are well acquainted with private traders who do not want to advertise their activities in the tax office. Document their work, as well as the work of local artists, taking your legal interest for the services of an intermediary.

Hire salespeople who are not only good at painting but also really good at trading. Be sure to conclude an agreement with the security. After all, who knows, maybe you have the works of the second Picasso in your gallery.

If you have a passion for art and are well versed in business, then you can start your own art gallery. It requires hard work and dedication, only then will your business start to generate a good income.

Chat with art gallery owners. It is better if they are located in another city and do not compete with you. They can give you tips on how to get started. They will also tell you what to watch out for, what problems to avoid. Make an appointment at your expense to thank you for your time.

Get the funding you need. To do this, you will need to draw up a detailed business plan. Investors will not even consider your offer if the document is not properly executed. If you have a good line of credit at a local bank, it will be much easier for you to get a loan there. You can apply for a special

Nadezhda Stepanova and Elvira Tarnogradskaya are owners of the Triangle contemporary art gallery in Moscow, which was opened in 2014. For a year and a half, the hostesses of the "Triangle" found an approach to Moscow and Swiss collectors, established a close relationship with the Austrian art public and learned how to make money on the works of young authors.

Stepanova is the inspirer of the project and a gallery owner with experience; she lives in Italy and visits Moscow. Tarnogradskaya is a lawyer and antiques specialist from a hereditary "antique" family, she constantly works in the gallery. “Sometimes a collector sees some work remotely - he found a picture on the gallery's website, sends a request, transfers money. But such cases are rare. In order for a gallery to work and earn money, one must be present in it, ”she explains.

Before starting their own business, in 2014, gallery owners decided that it was more interesting and profitable to engage in contemporary art. The works of recognized masters have already been sorted into museums and expensive private collections; discoveries are extremely rare. “But contemporary art is exactly the market where you can find the best and offer the client,” Tarnogradskaya explains her desire for young talents.

Nine artists are now represented in the "Triangle". Exactly the amount that a young gallery should have, according to the founders. The source of income for the gallery is the sale of works. The artist and the gallery receive 50% of the sold painting. The gallery buys some works and keeps them for themselves - those that have the potential to become more expensive over time.

The pricing laws in this market are pretty clear-cut. For example, a work by a young artist made in oil on canvas measuring 40 x 60 cm cannot cost less than € 1,500 in the USA or Europe, here a beginner artist can be assessed cheaper, but not much. “This amount includes payment for both labor and materials, and also provides the artist with the opportunity to live off art, and not go to waiters or teachers,” explains Stepanova. The price range for the works presented in the "Triangle" is wide - from € 100 for small-format drawings to € 20,000-30,000 for larger and more labor-intensive works.

An exclusive contract between a gallery and a young artist is rare. Most often, the gallery takes the work for sale, and the proceeds are divided 50-50. Celebrities who work with large galleries receive a larger share of the remuneration. If the gallery buys several works directly from the artist's studio "in bulk", then its percentage increases to 70-80% of the cost of the works.

Searching for talent involves visiting a large number of exhibitions of various sizes, and not only in Russia. Gallery "Triangle", for example, is of interest to artists from the post-Soviet space. Some artists worked with Elvira Tarnogradskaya as an art dealer even before the gallery was founded. Nadezhda is responsible for cultural exchange. He communicates with European and American galleries, brings works of interesting young artists to Moscow and organizes exhibitions of “friends” abroad.

“There is no shortage of new names, rather an excess,” the gallery owners admit. Their company, for example, constantly receives letters and suggestions from aspiring painters. “It's very difficult to get to us, our decision is based solely on the quality of the work, the artist's talent and the stage of his career - he must be really young, up to 35 years old, and really beginner,” explains Stepanova.

Selecting artists for their gallery, Stepanova and Tarnogradskaya are guided by their own artistic taste and commercial flair. Nobody conducts the selection of works specially "for a collector" or any specific buyer, - explains Nadezhda. If the artist is interesting to the gallery owners themselves, it means that he will also interest the buyers.

Young authors does not mean completely unknown. The Triangle has artists already loved by the audience. A beginner gallery for them is a more interesting platform than an eminent one. For example, artists Valery Chtak and Kirill Kto left the venerable Moscow galleries due to lack of attention. “We met Valera Chtak when he was leaving the Regina gallery, which he had just parted with,” says Stepanova. There, for several years of cooperation, the artist had the only exhibition. "Triangle" managed to exhibit Chtak's works three times in a year and a half and showed his works at four fairs, including European ones. Now the gallery is preparing the next exhibition of the artist, which will be held in the spring.

Kirill Kto came to Triangle from the XL Gallery, another oldest Moscow gallery. “In recent years he had only one exhibition of graphics and ready made there. Cyril came to our gallery, and we communicated well. I offered to exhibit his canvases with us, and he gladly agreed, ”says Nadezhda. The artist parted with XL peacefully, the owner of the gallery Elena Selina was not averse to parting with the author, whom she could not reach.

After Triangle first presented Canvases by Kto, interest in his work has grown significantly. After the exhibition, one work was acquired by Vladimir Ovcharenko, the founder of the Regina gallery and the Vladey contemporary art auction. He included it in the epoch-making exhibition of his collection "Borscht and Champagne", which was held this summer at the Museum of Modern Art on Gogolevsky Boulevard, in addition, he began to actively sell his graphics on Vladey. Nadezhda says that at the end of October, a small drawing by Kirill Kto in A4 format at a starting price of € 100 went for € 1400. The artist decided that he could collaborate with Ovcharenko in graphics, but he gave the exclusive for paintings on canvases to "Triangle". Stepanova recently sold two small canvases by Kirill Kto to a collector from Milan. He saw his work at the Vienna Contemporary annual art fair.

International ambitions and participation in fairs, including those outside of Russia, are necessary for both the gallery and its artists in order to gain fame and influence on the market. Only galleries with their own international program are allowed to participate. Part of such a program for Triangle will be an exhibition of a young American artist with Russian roots, Stefan Cherepnin, who is exhibited in the famous New York gallery The Real Fine Art. Cherepnin's great-grandfather wrote music for Diaghilev's ballets, and his family goes back to the famous Benois surname. Nadezhda and Elvira are confident that the artist's works and his story will interest the Moscow public.

In Vienna, "Triangle" successfully presented a young Russian artist. Collectors have received several requests for the purchase of his works. Tarnogradskaya: “Aleksey Mandych fits perfectly into the Austrian theme - his“ Black Square ”is made in the artist's own blood. We remember that the famous Austrian artist Hermann Nitsch also used blood. The result is a cultural allusion to both the Russian avant-garde and Viennese actionism. "

Now "Triangle" exports and shows abroad 20-25 works per year. For a year and a half, gallery owners have already mastered two Vienna fairs and one Moscow Cosmoscow. Triangle also applies for participation in the BRAFA fairs in Brussels, Art Basel in Basel and Art Cologne in Cologne. But he has not yet received an invitation, which, however, is not surprising. The largest international fairs are available only to established galleries with a solid reputation. So far, these include two Russian galleries - the Moscow-London Regina and the Moscow XL.

Stepanova and Tarnogradskaya strive to ensure that over time, the "Triangle" ascended to the international art Olympus. The key is to work hard and not make mistakes. “Our strategy is based on the presentation of young artists working in the field of contemporary art, so we cannot exhibit more salable 'interior' paintings or organize exhibitions of famous artists with an established market, although this may seem like an easier trick from a commercial point of view,” explains Stepanov. - To enter the international arena, it is not enough to think about what is easier to sell.

To get a stable reputation, to bring their artists out of the international market, and then sell their works for tens or even hundreds of thousands of euros is the task of Stepanova and Tarnogradskaya for the coming years.

Opening an art gallery is a daunting task that is meant for people who love art and its world. Most galleries are supported by the continuous sale of quality art to loyal collectors and their friends, while seeking new clients. The gallery withholds a portion of the proceeds from the sale, and the remainder goes to the artist. Gallery owners should build friendships with investors, artists, collectors, and the media. This career is suitable for the social, independent and business minded person who is ready to fight for a place in an already vibrant art market. If you have all these traits, then create a business plan and be ready to work hard until your gallery is profitable. Read on to find out how to manage your art gallery.

Steps

Part 1

Gallery opening

Make contacts in the art world. These contacts should be with collectors, artists and art media in the city where your gallery will be open and beyond. It can take years (5 to 15 years) to go through an art school, pursue a career in the art, and develop connections in the museum and gallery environment.

Be fully committed to the art and desire to have an art gallery. In today's marketplace, many gallery owners believe that it is necessary to love what you do in order to be successful. Art sales are irregular, some months generate little revenue and some are very profitable.

Decide what kind of art you want to sell and who your potential clients are. For example, modern, abstract, Western art, sculpture, photography, furniture, or a mixture of different kinds. The artwork in the gallery should be varied but have a main theme in order to attract people to become regular customers.

    • You may decide to open a non-profit gallery and collect donations for charity. You might decide to form a collective gallery with other artists if you also work in the field. You might also decide to open a commercial art gallery that is focused on selling artwork at low, medium or high prices. This decision must be made before you start looking for artists or funding.
  1. Create a detailed business plan. A business plan is the backbone of building a successful, profitable business in 1-5 years, and should include detailed steps regarding the artists' plan, marketing plan, and financial plan.

Look for funding if it hasn't been submitted yet. Your business plan, financial statements, and artist support will serve as a way to convince banks or business partners that you have a profitable plan. If you want to attract business partners, try to select those that are also related to the art world and might recommend your gallery to collectors.

Get the support of the artists. Look for artists with advice from other dealers or museum curators, or you can post an open call for artwork for sale. Specify your percentage in writing, realizing that, in general, the newer the artist is in the art world, the higher the percentage of sales you can get.

Hire reliable employees. Gallery staff must have an art education, contacts in the art world, and experience in sales, business or marketing. The ideal employee has a degree in art history or administration and is ready for a variety of tasks, especially in the beginning.

Get good insurance and security for your gallery. It is very important that you are protected in the event of theft or other damage. Artists often require proof of insurance before agreeing to submit their work to a gallery.

    Part 2

Content of a successful art gallery
    1. Don't quit your main job right away. Many gallery owners, especially in big cities, run the gallery at the same time as they work elsewhere, until the gallery becomes profitable. Assign a reliable, knowledgeable employee to look after the gallery when you are not able to be there, and work hard to comfortably switch to a full-time gallery job.

Create a page on the internet. Modern galleries must have a website, social media account, blogs and email list in order to be successful and acquire new clients. Invest in creating an attractive website that lists artists, some of the artwork, your location information, and a contact phone number.

Opening your own business in most cases means using one of the traditional offers that have already been tried three thousand times, the scheme of their operation has been worked out, and examples are found on every corner. Clothing stores, grocery stores, manufacturing, resale, fast food. As for the less popular species, they are looked upon with apprehension and distrust.

Meanwhile, among them there are also worthy specimens. And in comparison with the above, they have one clear advantage. In them No so crazy all-consuming competition... But it is competition from the first steps that can crush any well-thought-out business plan, and a business from a profitable one can turn into a long game of survival.

Against this background, the uniqueness of your project can be an excellent help in organizing an entrepreneurial business, which will have excellent profit margins and earnings. One of these projects is the opening of a gallery.

Opening a gallery as a business is a fairly new trend among businessmen in the CIS countries. However, it is already considered a promising type of entrepreneurial activity and promises to the owners a good level of income when organizing. However, it, like any other type of business, has its own complexities that will determine the entire process of the organization.

General characteristics of the gallery project

The gallery as such is being formed to host subsequent exhibition events of a completely different format. This is a demonstration of works of art, photographs, paintings, sculptures and regional exhibitions, which may include the product range of factories and manufacturers.

The meaning of opening a gallery exists on the condition that in the city where the business starts, lives at least three hundred and fifty thousand people... If the format of a settlement satisfies this condition, but still the number of residents is very small compared to megalopolises, then it will be an ideal condition that there are no other operating sites designed for such events on the territory of the city.

The work of the gallery is based exclusively on mutually beneficial cooperation between the organizers of exhibitions, participants and you, as the owner of the gallery. Although in other cases you yourself can be the organizer of events in your room.

Moreover, recently in Russia, as for a long time in Europe, incomparably greater attention has been paid to art and design. This also applies to ordinary residents, who, in fact, will be clients of those exhibitions that will be held in your gallery. This means that their interest will directly affect your business.

Hence follows relevance such a business. To bring the ideas of enlightenment, knowledge to the masses, to give people the opportunity to see what they are unlikely to see anywhere else, to fight for the right of exclusivity and at the same time to receive income - this is how a novice entrepreneur takes the idea of opening a gallery.

At the same time it is worth considering about your taste... Without any bluntness. Objectively evaluate yourself, as in the future this quality will work for you and your business. And if it makes no sense for you to cooperate with young artists, designers, masters, simply because you will not be able to appreciate their work, which means that you will not be able to understand whether such an exhibition will be popular in your gallery, but you still want to do business in this direction , then you will need to additionally hire a person. This is another line of expenses, but it is she who can result in the success of the entire enterprise.

Therefore, before starting your own business, you need to form the focus of the project and, if necessary, use expert advice... The role that you will play in your project should not be underestimated, but overestimation can play a cruel joke. So who you will be for your gallery - investor, organizer, artist, manager, businessman, or all this taken together - is up to you. But you need to decide right away.

Legal component

Aspiring entrepreneur to get started with business development at the opening of a gallery not required some specialized permits from state authorities, because there is no special control body for such places for holding exhibitions yet. Therefore, as in any other business, only standard papers will be needed.

Business license. Do not forget that you will need to choose the form of organizational and legal activity - an individual entrepreneur, or limited liability company... Also, the choice will take place in the form of taxation of your case. After that, there is registration with the tax service and the pension fund, where deductions will also go.

The whole process of registration of official activities is laborious and time-consuming, because it is associated with paperwork and constant visits to government agencies. Especially if this is your first experience. However, there is a way to avoid all the red tape yourself by paying a certain amount of money to a specialized firm. Such organizations undertake to do everything for you. This will speed up the process and free up your time to form your own project. In this case, you need to find out the tariffs individually.

Premises

Since the exhibitions that you will hold in your gallery are designed for mass visits of people from all over the village, as well as visitors from other cities, you need to thoroughly attend to the issue of the location of the enterprise. The city center is perfect. However, with this choice, you need to be prepared for the fact that rent will cost more and difficulties may arise with the organization of an entrance for guests and visitors of exhibitions. Convenience plays a big role in traffic and popularity. In addition, exhibitors will ask for the convenience of bringing exhibits and props into the territory.

Considerable Attention when renting or constructing a building, the gallery is paid lighting and indoor climate... Therefore, it is important that high-quality ventilation, air conditioning and temperature maintenance systems are in working order. Exhibits vary, and for some, optimal temperature conditions are important.

The gallery room must have multiple zones... And the total area will vary based on a predetermined focus of the activities. The greater the variety of exhibitions you plan to hold in your premises, the more likely you will need a rather large area. However, the standard is considered a room with an area of 250 square meters.

Gallery zones:

- Storage room... At least 50 squares.

Storage room equipment and props... At least 50 squares.

- Office administration. Enough 15 - 25 squares.

Actually exhibition hall... About 80 square meters.

Renting such a large space is always difficult. Especially considering the location mentioned above.

Therefore, a budding entrepreneur should think about possible options that will help to save money. So, for example, if you rent a ready-made room, which was originally intended for such purposes, then you can remove the costs of organizing technological networks, ventilation and sewerage. Another option is a joint opening with the bodies of the state municipality, which will be interested in the development of this direction in terms of ennobling the cultural life of the city. Undoubtedly, this approach will give its advantages not only in the “rent” column, but also simplify, for example, a marketing campaign.

Staff

The staff of the current gallery can be either permanent or, in some positions, temporary. In addition to technical specialists, you need to pay attention to several personnel positions:

  1. Project Manager... An important position, since it is on his activities that such indicators as the prestige of the enterprise, its popularity, and, accordingly, income will depend. He will make decisions on the formats and topics of the exhibition events. And, as mentioned earlier, it doesn't have to be the entrepreneur himself.
  1. Programmer... Not an explicit position. However, if you plan to achieve a certain level of solidity of the company, then you will have to engage in promotion on all fronts, including the worldwide network. Moreover, every serious organization is simply obliged to have its own website so that people can get the necessary information as soon as possible, as well as follow the schedule of the next exhibition events and buy tickets without queues at the box office. So the position of a programmer, in fact, in the organization of a functioning gallery cannot be ignored.

In addition, today, you do not need to hire a permanent IT specialist. There are many companies that will take your tasks on outsourcing.

  1. Consultants... Important persons, as they will have to acquaint visitors with exhibits, works of art and advise in every possible way. At the same time, exhibitions can be of completely different types, and not all of them carry people with them who are ready to competently and beautifully tell people about the exhibition samples. Therefore, you need to hire erudite people for the position of consultants. The popularity of your project, sales of exhibited masterpieces and general prestige will depend on the quality of the work of specialists in this position.
  1. Press office secretary... Everything is simple here. This is the person working on the media coverage of the planned exhibition.
  1. Curator of the gallery... In principle, this position and the position of the project manager can be combined. In general, the curator is the person who determines the trend, establishes communication with responsible people, solves issues with the placement of works in the exhibition hall and the design of the exposition.

Costs

The costs will be based on many factors. For example, rent will completely depend on the city in which you decide to implement the project, and moreover, in which area of this city you will rent premises. For a small settlement, let's take an approximate cost of 70,000 rubles.

The second item of expenses - repair... This is an important part of the whole business, since you create a visual project first. People, being in the premises of your gallery, will appreciate not only the exhibits themselves, but also their combination with the interior style of the building, which, whatever one may say, will affect the perception of the private and the whole. A good renovation with the hiring of a professional designer will cost 1.5-2 million rubles.

However, if you managed to find a room that was originally intended for similar purposes, then cost items can be significantly reduced.

The third point is salary... Your staff will be both permanent and on piece-rate terms. But the calculation should be based on the figure of 15,000 - 20,000 thousand per employee per month.

The fourth point is marketing company... An important part, as described above, for the whole gallery project. Therefore, the expense column will have numbers of 70 - 100 thousand rubles per month.

These are the main costs in the project. In addition to them, there are also periodic, risky and others. All of them must be indicated in the business plan in order to correctly calculate the periods of reaching net profit.

Profit

Profit in gallery project - floating value... So, for example, you cannot even approximately determine the average price of works of art that will be exhibited and sold in your gallery. It may be 5 thousand rubles, or maybe several million.

Also, the commission principle will affect the income. That is the percentage that the organizer will receive from the sale of the exhibition, as well as the percentage that the artist receives also varies and is determined before the event on a contractual basis.

With positive trends and bold calculations, if you organize an exhibition of twenty to forty paintings at least once a month. And if you sell a third of the exhibits there, you can make a profit of 400 thousand rubles.

Although, precisely due to the fact that no one will give guarantees of reaching exactly these numbers, and the income will not be stable in relation to the amount of profit, the project of organizing the gallery is not yet so popular. But at the same time it is extremely promising if you practice a pedantic and professional approach to each stage of the organization.
